  • nice update thanks!

  • Love the free movie night idea. Any chance of doing this for other holidays? Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown or Christmas Story etc..and not sure this is the right place to ask but on the netflix side of things would it be possible to set up multiple movies, shows that play in succession? Probably a question for Netflix..

  • since the SCEE & SCEBENLUX don’t want to answer it.

when does the rest of the European union get the videostore
it was promissed in 2009 multiple times
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcspvpgD3Uk#t=9m33s
and with only 80 days remaining the promiss becomes a Pro-miss

  • I’m guessing you guys failed to update the prices on the Predator movies…

    Predator 19.99 for HD DL
Amazon.com 12.99 for the the Bluray with extras, subtitle track, and more….. this is a bum deal.

Predator 2 SD Only 5.99 (really no incentive)
Amazon.com 11.49 for the Bluray with extras, subtitle track, and more….. again bum deal.

I won’t bother with AVP as it blows my mind anyone would subject themselves to those movies at all. Games, Books, and Comics are where it’s at for this series. Which reminds me…. Comics?…. Anyway I’m sure the AVP prices are just as bad.

Maybe you’re deals were on the SD versions, in which case I can get the DVD’s for the same price, with more on the disc with better features, and rip the disc for use with my PSP and PS3 (which I have done) and then archive my discs (again done).

  • BTW, I’m suggesting the Video store not only lacks in features and is expensive, but it is also a serious hassle with the content you own.

  • hell yeah, nice to see some godzilla movies. keep em’ coming.

  • thank you KazeEternal, I agree with you 100% and until something is changed i’m going to make a single post on everyone of these video updates, the video stores is horrible! there is some serious issues with content that you ‘own’, it’s stuck on your ps3!! no disc, no extras… i’ll use the same suggestion I had last week… let people buy off the video store let us download the video at the same time, but then actually put in a order for the bluray DVD and send it to us via the mail, therefore we are actually buying media on a disc, if the single def version is purchased, send the regular DVD, problem solved, the video you send can be copied into infinity amount of files, so charging 17.99 for an HD file is just ridiculous, having just the file is simply a rental in my eyes, no matter how many times you watch the movie, think about it, when you actually rent a movie do you only get to watch it once.. no.. when you rent a movie off the video store, i’m assuming there is only 1 view (i have never bought, nor rentd from the video store, nor will I ever do it, when the biancos down the street offers used refurbished blurays for anywhere from 4.99 to 12.99 for ANY bluray that is on that shelf,

  • PEOPLE DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THE VIDEO STORE, WOULD YOUR PURCHASE AN MP3 CD FROM YOUR FRIEND FOR 5 BUCKS EVEN? NO I DIDNT THINK SO, BECAUSE YOU KNOW WITH MP3’S YOU CAN COPY IT AS MANY TIMES AS YOU LIKE AND THERE’S NO REASON TO CHARGE SOMENE WHEN GIVING THEM A COMPUTER FILE, THE SAME CAN BE SAID FOR SONY HERE, THEY ARE MAKING RIDICULOUS AMOUNTS OF MONEY OF TRANSFERRING AND COPYING FILES FROM 1 LOCATION TO YOURS

  • i like stagevu service better

  • fyi. for new users to ps3 video store.

read sony’s terms and conditions before buying video content.

once you buy a movie, it can only be accessed from the hard drive you store the movie on. when someone upgrades to larger hard drive on the same ps3 and psn account, they will not be able to transfer the movie to the new hard drive and play the movie unless the person “re-buys” the license.

but if the person keeps the old hard drive and want play bought psn movies content, the person then must swap out hard drives and deactivate the system and reactive the system with “old” hard drive to play the content “legally”.

this should be fix, users right to media content. a solution would be a type of “cloud storage” service, one can log on psn and stream unlimited the bought content.

  • If you do a hard drive backup, before upgrading your hard drive, then you can have your movie on your new hard drive, when you copy the backup to the new drive.

  • Too expensive, no features, and content can be found other places for a fraction of the price.

Don’t understand why anyone would rather have a more expensive featureless digital copy that can only be played in your single PS3 with zero after sale value.

Still haven’t bought a single item from the video store. Your “incredible deals”, for lots of reasons, are just not that incredible.

  • Once again where is the Daily Show with Jon Stewart? Can you guys put in a few words to Comedy Central?

  • I agree with the above comments. The movie’s are way too expensive. It costs the same as the store if not more and there are LESS features and you can’t lend them to friends. (I know that’s the point marketing people) Why would anyone “buy” TV shows for $2.49, that’s insane!!!
Sony needs to explain to the movie studio’s that DVD prices cannot apply to digital versions of the same movie. It just makes me want to download the movies for free even more. It feels like the studio’s/Sony are stealing our money.

I still don’t understand why one would “own” a digital copy. Why? Can you take it on holiday for the kids to see? Can you give it to a friend? It make zero sense.

  • Someone call a Waaaaahmbulance! All I hear is gripe gripe gripe, complain, gripe. If you dont find the video store useful to you, dont use it! I find it convenient on occasion (mainly for rentals). I would like them to mimic the terms of the video store on Xbox, though. When you buy a movie on the Xbox, you can erase it and redownload it as many times as you want, which is PERFECT! My movies are all stored in the CLOUD and not on a disc which can be lost, stolen, or destroyed. But, for now, i will buy most of my movies on disc, and rent the occasional new release in the PS store.

  • When are we going to see 3D content on the PlayStation Store? Has there been anything announced yet? Anything you guys can talk about? I would be VERY interested in seeing 3D movie trailers for upcoming theatrical 3D movies, and I would pay cash money to be able to rent and/or purchase 3D movies or TV content!

  • OFF TOPIC!!!why cant this page no longer supports the ps3 web browser??? come on guys fix it !!!

  • Awesome update! And Thanks for the free movie rental!

  • enough with THE JAPANESE CARTOONS (WILL NEVER SAY ITS NAME) half of the t.v. shows realeased are these things… more Western Stuff please… please…

  • why are TV shows so expensive, theyy should be like 50 cents a piece

  • NO SUBTITLES???

  • So the free midnight movies are US only – woulda been nice to mention that here…

  • …now that Canadians finally have the video store, it’s “no soup for you!”.

  • it was mentioned the free video rentals wer eonlyfor the US, i’m canadian, and that’s just really stupid I tried to get these free rentals, no deals, and who the hell deals in PST time SONY?.. fix it! EST is the ONLY time that matters, and is where most of your purchases come from i’m sure of it

  • Thanks for including Canada in the Free Movie offer.
