The PlayStation Recap

28 9

My thumbs have been getting a serious workout lately, with the Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood beta keeping me plenty busy in between rounds of Super Stardust HD’s Endless mode (aka “the only way to fly”), which I’m playing in anticipation of Housemarque’s upcoming spiritual successor Dead Nation. I’m also dying to get my mitts on Fallout: New Vegas next week. Then there’s the Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare DLC coming out on October 26th or thereabouts…

Yeah, my next few weeks are pretty much screwed.

    • Finally got to Uncharted 2 rank 48!

I’m playing: Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood beta, Resistance 2, Uncharted 2
      I’m watching: Survivor: Nicaragua
I’m reading: The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan

    • “I’m playing: Dead Space 2 multiplayer beta, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood ”

HOW? The Brotherhood beta takes AT LEAST 20 minutes for me to find a game. I’ve played it twice, the first time it took like 25 minutes to get in, the second time it froze and I had to reboot. All other times it’s frozen or just not found a match. Damn Australia. Always get screwed somehow.

    • I really can’t wait for the Killzone 3 Beta…

I’m playing: Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood Beta, Assassin’s Creed 1, and Borderlands
I’m watching: Jyu-Oh-Sei: Planet of the Beast King, and RomeoXJuliet
      I’m reading: Paradise Lost/Paradise Regained-John Milton

    • I’m playing: Alundra which is a pretty fun game. It’s like the 2D Zelda game which I never played. I have a few problems with it but nothing bad that takes away from the fun. Also popped in Uncharted 2 today of course… gained 5 levels and might get a few more in later! And I WOULD be playing Castlevania: Lords of Shadow if my save file didn’t corrupt on me -_-

I’m watching: Still on Blood+ thanks to Netflix. It’s a longer series than I thought!

      I’m reading: Lol, reading.

    • Next time you guys got a rep promoting Dead Space 2 posting, can you ask them when Canada is getting the pre-order incentive?

      It’s only $5, but still.

Otherwise, hopefully gonna get some more time with Y’s 7 in before the prequel(?).

    • Hey Sid… Just wanted to know subtitle option for Netflix’s Video Streaming… I mean… from what year to present? If some are not appear that I wanted to view, will they go back to old archive and encode them? Or they won’t? I hope my questions make sense… I apologize for those vague questions. Hope they get answered. Thanx.

      • Netflix would know better than I, but I would assume the roster of subtitled movies will increase gradually over time. It may favor newer films at first, but it’s definitely a positive sign.

    • Hey Sid can you answer my question?

I noticed that the PSPgo has dropped to around $200, and I was looking to get the new white one, but the my local game store only has white PSPgo’s without the picture of the free three games voucher. My question is will I still get a voucher code for the games if I buy the white PSPgo without the picture of Little Big Planet, Socom, and Ratchet and Clank.

      Thanks

P.S. The Move controller is a dream. No competition. Hands down the best. Trust me my neighbor had the other guys’s system with motion control and compared to the Move its night and day.

      • A good question — let me ask and if I hear more I’ll post an update here. But I would assume not given that it didn’t show a picture of that promo; again, I’ll ask.

Glad you like PlayStation Move! Dead Space Extraction is a day one for me.

    • I need to get around to playing Guardian of Light. I bought it but havn’t touched it yet.

Hopefully it’s better then that god awfull second Deathspank game. I don’t know how they managed to make Thongs so terrible, but they did.

      • GoL is a lot of fun, especially if you play in co-op. The co-op character interactions are complex and diverse.

    • I;m really glad MAG got a patch. I bought the game to play it with Move but the game was freezing a lot.

    • Jackass 2… I remember being absolutely obsessed with with their “stunts” or whatever you want to call them, when I was a kid… To think even at 21 I’m still so immature as to be excited to see what new moronic ideas they have in store. I think I had a few too many bad (immature) influences surrounding me as a grew up :P

    • Will it ever be possible to play Catan with the Cities & Knights expansion?

    • When will we be getting a confirmed date for GT5? I’ve seen reports the date has been moved to Feb 2011. If true this is a PR disaster. The game has already started to become a joke, being compared to DNF.

    • GT5 delay really too much devastating.. really.. wordless at this point

    • How COme i cant lisen to music on my ps3 anymore while surfing the web is it cuz of the dynamic themes???????

    • I didn’t get a LBP2 beta invite? That is depressing while surprising at the same time. *insert sad surprised face here* Guess I didn’t bug Mm enough.(Or maybe too much?) Oh well..still hope for one for FFXIV but in the meantime if anyone has a LBP2 beta code send it my way after the 25th…you can have my KZ3 code..I really didn’t want it.

    • Hi Sid,

I’ll make this short, in order to fit it all in one msg. First off, last night I tried ~15 times to download the ‘free’ rental of Dracula and could not find it for free in any shape or form on the store. At no point during 8pm and 11pm (EST) was the movie listed as free. Not a big issue, but it was a bit of a let down as I was kind of excited to see it.

Also, I use my PS3 for ‘Everything’ and I mean it. My computer is never powered on other than to post on the PSBlog and the PSForums. All my email, surfing, tv shows, movies, games, etc., are all done on the PS3. Unfortunatly, the one thing that the PS3 cannot do is PSBlog postings (anymore, can’t log in as of today), PSForum (it doesn’t show a thing and when it does it usually freezes my PS and has to be shut down), PSBlog vidoes (again, sometimes works but also freezes my PS3, although they are getting much better). Of all the sites on the web one would thing the PSBlog and PSForums might work on the PS3.

Please let me know if there is any hope of these repairs in the future. If you can also instruct me as to how these future ‘free’ rentals are obtained, it would be much appreciated.

      Thanks

    • Please let us know the second there are any updates to GT5’s release date.

    • I’m Playing: Final Fantasy: the 4 Heroes of Light (DS). Also played the demo of Force Unleashed 2 & thought it was really good! I liked the Sonic demo, but thought it was too short. U tried the Alien Breed demo too and thought it was neat.

I’m Watching: Tonight I’m watching the movie K-Pax.

I’m Reading: Nothing much yet. I’m waiting for The Somnambulist to arrive.

I thought the PS3 store update was great this week. I’m looking forward to this weeks update because of the Costume Quest demo.

Overall, it was a good week. I didn’t get into the LPB2 beta, but I didn’t really think I would. HOPED, yes, but I was pretty sure it wouldn’t happen. *sigh*

Anyway, I’m hoping I’ll get to rent Fallout: New Vegas sometime after it comes out next week. It looks great!

    • This extra cash event should have went on at least till today late, and there needs to be more cash weekends..

    • Started Lara Croft. God it took me a couple hours to fix that stupid trophy bug.

The first time I started the game up, they game didn’t even appear on my trophy list. Then I deleted my save file and started the game up again and the trophy list finally showed up but I still wasn’t getting any.

Then I read online you have to reinstall the unlock key miltiple times till it works. God that was annoying. Are they fixing that with the co-op patch?
