I downloaded the Costume Quest demo! Its a VERY good game. I wish I had the money to download the whole game right now. :(

I will play the demo more & keep it on my system though. I plan to buy it whenever I can get the money next (even if its after Halloween).

Also got the Qore Arcade. Its kind of neat. Hey, its a free goodie. Thanks Sony/Qore. I didn’t expect that we were going to get anymore free stuff now that Playstation Plus is around. lol. Wish we could get into some betas though (especially LBP2).

In any case, this is a really good update! :)

Also @194 I don’t even recall pictures of the email now that I think about it. I have only seen screens of the BETA being downloaded. You do realize that they have sent out codes BESIDES JUST for the theme right?

Ok everything is good now… dang Sony is cranking out the full download of past PS3 titles… but this update wasn’t too lackluster.

Not a bad update guys. Still not a PS+ subscriber and at the moment, I’m glad I didn’t. Not because of the content so much, but because my PS3 has died yet again :( 13 months ago I had Sony repair it for $190 CDN and now it’s YLOD once again. I do everything on the PS3. Gaming (duh), Television, Netflix (finally in Canada and then my system gets sick on me) anyways, thinking about purchasing a slim but we’ll see.

Wrote a blog post about all of this on http:/www.robertchapman.ca and if anyone has any ideas about what my options are, let me know by commenting! I check and reply to comments daily so please send me your thoughts.

Again, decent store update Sony, I’m using my bro’s PS3 currently and I was able to throw my account on there so I at least have access to my account/trophies, etc.

So SCEA Do you think you could let us know how long it took for 5000 people to download the KZ3 theme?

208

+ EJStrat on October 20th, 2010 at 1:02 am said:

So i just bought a 3 month subscription for ps+, here’s to hoping its worth it. Apparently I missed out on the AC: Brotherhood beta, which was one of the reasons I wanted +. I went to download the trial for Warhawk, didn’t have room on my hard drive, so I went and made some room, and when I got back on the psstore it was gone. You’re O/2 so far PS+. If I get into the KZ3 beta (probably unlikely since I didn’t get that theme within twenty seconds of it being posted), and if some other sweet stuff comes out in the next few updates, I might renew. Free copies of Bloons and Oddworld, and discounts on japanese imports are not going to cut it.

209

+ EJStrat on October 20th, 2010 at 1:05 am said:

Wait, so AC brotherhood was for “select” members? Meaning its not on my PS+ list because I’m not one of the “selected”? Dude, thats pretty lame. You’re losing points fast ps+, and I’ve only been subscribed for…a half hour or so?

210

+ teajay74 on October 20th, 2010 at 1:39 am said:

Okay okay. So where is this Killzone 3 theme everyone is talking about? I’ve been looking on my PS3 every day for the last week and it still isn’t there. I get ripped off with this stupid PS+ crap and now nobody can give me a clear claim on where to download the theme from so I can join the beta. And as if that’s no bad enough, Sony is happy to take my money to be a PS+ member but now I’ve got to stay up late at night to get in early because I live in Australia?

WHERE IS THE THEME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

211

+ zombie9 on October 20th, 2010 at 5:10 am said:

@ 205 – EJStrat.

AC Brotherhood beta was going to be ‘select’ PSN + only and then Grace announced it was for ALL PSN + members.

Not sure why you didn’t get in, unless you didn’t have PSN + until after the Beta was announced.

The Free PS+ Halloween theme is awesome! Will be using it till the holiday passes. The KZ theme, well it had 600 ratings when I downloaded it, so hope for the best there. Burn Zombie Burn, sweet. Never bought it, the reviews are awesome, so thanks! But yes, the minis and PS1 games are useless to me, but still ps+ has been cool.
But couldn’t ps+ use all the money they spend for the mini and ps1 games towards more PS3 psn games. Seems like it would make more sense. And you would get alot more subscribers.

One thing I don’t like is, I hate how a lot of the games they put out for free I’ve already purchased. I feel I should have the opportunity to CHOOSE or get an alternate offer or something, because really, I’ve owned Burn Zombie Burn and the first Abe’s Odyssey for ages now :/

So THE DROP specifically listed Costume Quest and Aqua Panic! as PSP releases but I discover that neither of them is available on the PSP. Thanks Sony, you guys aren’t even competent enough to list releases for the correct system. I have wanted Downstream Panic! on my PSPNo since I bought the worthless system and I was psyched that I would finally be able to play it (and more excited that it would be the updated version). But, nope all Sony has to offer this week is two overpriced no-name games for the PSP.

Geez, I don’t know what your incentive for being so defensive is?! I HAVEN’T got a code, but I made the observation others HAVE received it… seriously, go take 30 seconds and check for yourself. Moron.

@nuradeen I don’t think they sent out the meails to those who downloaded it yet. Per (I think it was posted on twitter) yesterday the PSN Euro took 10 -15 minutes to reach the DL limit, and they knew when the store was to update. We got no such news in the US and I know per the PS Blog yesterday I got the update by 7:11am and when I rated it after downlaoding it I was #61. I’m sure those who got in on the 1st 5 minutes of its release will get in. Were supposed to get an email by th 25 if I’m correct. Also its been stated a lot that the folk who got codes got them off twitter. No panic here (YET)

I’m curious, why doesn’t Sony require retails that re-sell used Ps3′s to send the unit into Sony for firmware, or require the stores to do a firmware update themselves? We all know what people are trying to do with the Ps3, and now it’s getting more popular to have folks specifically asking Gamestop employees for a PS3 with a particular version of firmware on it. I see ppl bragging about doing this…why doesn’t Sony curb that?

Isnt it funny how the same 2 sony sponsored trolls come back spewing the same idiot marketing BS week after week to justify the inexscusable. Funnier still how they attack the very people who keep them in business.

BTW, the reason people want used consoles with older firmware is this years firmware is garbage. it adds no real “features” other than allowing SCE to illegally delete features & other data from our systems illegally. Thats not something to be proud of its something people go to prison for. Don’t believe me? ask John Draper & Kevin Mitnick.

@gilletjoe

No, they are NOT receiving their codes for downloading their theme. They are codes that SONY sent out to RANDOM people. I know because 3 of my clan members got codes, and none of them are plus subscribers. You really are stupid aren’t you. The codes for the beta will be sent out on the 25th. ANYONE who gets a code before then did NOT get their code from downloading the theme. PERIOD. This has been stated by both SONY and GG.

I have to agree with a few others here: the Halloween dynamic theme is really cool! This is easily the best theme I have on my system. Please keep the high-quality themes coming!

@gillettjoe the only moron and gullible person here is you ,kid. go back into the ps store and go to the kz3 theme and read what it says. you will find out. anybody else that got a code didn’t get it for plus membership yet. thanks 4 the halloween theme , my kids enjoy it very much especially when the ghost pops out of nowhere
