Now, in addition to free access to a variety of content already available on the PlayStation Network, we’re giving you even more options to the entertainment content you want!
A subscription to Hulu Plus will cost $9.99 per month, giving you access to full seasons of current hit TV shows from more than 100 leading content providers, including ABC, NBC and FOX, and movies from many of the most well-known studios in the U.S.
How does this change from what was already available? Well, you no longer need to have a PlayStation Plus subscription to gain access and you don’t have to wait for an invitation from Hulu either. Beginning today, Hulu Plus is open to all PlayStation Network members in the U.S.
To get your subscription to Hulu Plus after downloading the free app through the PlayStation Store, visit www.ps3.com/hulu, which will direct you to the sign-up page. When creating your account, you will need to link your PS3 to your Hulu Plus subscription by simply using the referral code that will appear on the screen from your PS3. If you are already a Hulu Plus subscriber, you can enter your user name and password directly into the app or just enter the referral code at www.hulu.com/activate to link the device. You’ll then see the Hulu Plus app appear under the video icon on the XMB.
In addition to Hulu Plus on your PS3, you’ll also have access from your connected Sony Blu-ray Disc players, Blu-ray Home Theater Systems, Network Media Players, DASH devices, and BRAVIA TV’s. As a subscriber to both Hulu Plus and Netflix, I strongly urge you to go with Netflix.
too late, I, like many others, have already got netflix. good to have options though, i guess.
While having access to hundreds of shows, and many seasons for certian ones, is nice. I got the HULU PLUS Invite a few monhts ago,and I watched every season of the A-Team, X-Files, LOST, Lie to Me, House and on and on and on….BUT, thee main reason I will be stopping m HULU PLUS subscription is because the Movies they have available, sorry HULU &Sony, but the movies blow. 99% Indie flicks, and I think that when I went thru ALL the movies, I think i recognized only “1”…. yes ONLY 1 looked familiar, other then that, I had NO IDEA and never heard of the practically every single movie HULU carries. Dont believe me, go to Hulu’s web site and go thru the movies!
I gave it a shot for a few months, and now it’s over. Until HULU gets REAL & KNOWN, POPULAR MOVIES, I will NOT be continuing my HULU PLUS Subscription.
Sony, is it really THAT hard to provide us a release date?

i have both since me and my brothers are sharing we only pay $7 a month and we each have them on our ps3’s

i’m using it. i cut off my cable so i live off of netflix, hulu and gamefly.
but i hope hulu can take care of their licensing shows to devices issues soon. i cant see some of the content i can see on the tv on my ps3 or iphone due to network license issues.
so no community for me on my ps3 unless i get up and go to my pc or use a media server app like playon.
I subscribe to both – and for a very simple reason – they are different servies…. if you want movies Netflix is for you… if you want current and past tv shows Hulu is best… Netflix = Movies; Hulu = TV its pretty useless to compare the two.
Are you gonna add a dedicated app store on PSN? All these apps get lost in the shuffle under the game or video section

This is cool and all, BUT why don’t you update the web browser so “everyone” can access more content like “regular” HULU without having to pay extra subscription fees.

I have Netflix for years and HuluPLUS since i was invited some months ago, they both offer tv shows but netflix has it all, but i use Hulu for my Network viewing pleasures because it has things you’d never seen otherwise aswell. Im a car fanatic and Hulu has alot of that in. will there be an update for the app today ? it works fine as it is just curious for the mass who will be joining?
does it let me watch Top Gear or is that only accessible via GT5’s GT TV service.

Yeah I never really liked HULU the only thing I ever watched on there was Dollhouse and Family guy. Plus many of the shows I already get with On Demand with Comcast

It’s cool I have been doing it since the preview started. Only thing I’m not a fan of is there are commercials and you’re paying $9.99. Also some shows that are available to view on the website (Fringe & Caprica for example) cannot be viewed on the Hulu app.

when is Hulu gonna update there shows library. Kinda ridiculous that its $10 and they don’t have Fringe, The Big Bang Theory, Breaking Bad or a lot other shows. Oh yea and lets not forget they don’t even have The Simpsons!!! Whats up with that?

ok susan the only question i have now that all this great content is making it’s way to the ps3 is, why can’t we pay for these subscriptions thru the PSN? it would be way more convenient if i could pay for my subscriptions to netflix and huluplus with psn cards. just another idea from me to maximize profits for both sony and partners.

Certain shows are web only. Not pleased about that since I only go on my computer once a week to update stuff. I rather watch them on my HDTV. At least I can watch my ordinary family and castle.
I will try it for a month to see if it is worth it bur not pleased with the pc only shows.

Good point, the PS3 needs a firmware update for viewing flash videos.
They should offer a free trial preview to at least see what it’s like and what is available. The PS3 has a huge user base…

I really don’t think I’ll get that much use out of Hulu and I can’t be sure what’s even on it to view if I can’t really search for ALL the shows that are available now.

I just cancelled my account. The ads suck the big one and they are very annoying. I just don’t like the fact that they show even more than one ad per break for a service that I am paying for. Netflix may not have all the shows but at least I get ad free shows and discs sent in the mail for about $11.
Also some of the shows I really want to watch they don’t stream on the ps3. Get rid of the ads and I might consider it. Now my sub is good until dec 10 but a waste of money. A trial version would have been great but if they did offer it most would cancel because of the ads.

Nice to see Hulu to come to the PS3, but do we really need Hulu Plus subscription. Why can’t all people have Hulu on PS3 for free (without the Plus subscription). I just want to watch anime and maybe movies on Hulu for free without the Plus feature.
At least with netflix you pay for no ads. Paying for ads and yes cable sat is a rip-off too is bogus.
hmmm.. This is kind of backwards. For one thing, why not make Hulu+ free for PSN+ members; that is, instead of giving them Vanquish demos that would have been free anyway from other stores..? We already had this demo, this is not special [Personally not a subscriber, and would never fall for that trap, but would be nice if subscribers enjoyed what they pay for..]
Another is: Why not release regular Hulu, with ads, and offer Hulu+ for those who want to subscribe, without ads/very minimal ads? People have access to some of Hulu on PC for free.. Why cripple the PS3? Is this kind of thinking why we don’t have YouTube or Last.fm (you could always devise ‘plus’ versions for expanded features, too)?
For a supposed ‘media-giant’ with it’s own online focus group (.Share) Sony doesn’t seem to understand the current media concept or how to grow demand/value in general. [Should we even mention the new MJ album from SonyBMG?]

well this is fail why would i get this when i can just watch hulu on my laptop for free. all i want is a free hulu ap that lets me watch the content thats on hulu i dont need extra stuff.
I been using Hulu + for the past 2 months on the PS3 , along with Netflix and my media center best of all worlds.
Oh , I love how they added Auto-Play … sweet! Only if they can do that for Netflix.
