Watch the New Deus Ex: Human Revolution Gameplay Video

46 13

Hello everyone! I’m excited to share the second gameplay trailer for Deus Ex: Human Revolution on PS3! In it you’ll find more footage on combat, augmentations, in-game menus, and upgrade trees than we’ve ever publicly shown. If you pay attention, you might even sneak a peek at our hacking mini-game and a weapon modification that toys with the term “hand cannon.”

And to those of you who think you’ve seen everything after watching the leaked footage (yeah, we know it exists…), to quote legendary Canadian rock group Bachman Turner Overdrive, “you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.”

In other news, I’m pleased to announce that I and other members of the studio are presently readying content to distribute specifically to this great blog. After spending four challenging but passionate years developing a sequel to one of the most revered videogames of all-time, everyone involved can’t wait to talk. We’re very, very excited, and we hope you are too.

  • Wow this game looks to be a MUST PLAY! so many games Sony… so many games!

  • Looks nice, I’d buy if it had a PSP counterpart.

  • I am so hyped for this game its not funny. From what I’ve seen this game speaks to my love of si-fi and gaming like so few games do now a days

Its like Ghost in the Shell and Metal Gear and Blade Runner had an awesome near future baby and gave it impossibly cool glasses. From what I’ve seen the only thing missing is an Edward James Olmos type character that makes foreshadowing origami figures.

    Excitement Level at max!

  • The game is looking very hot!

  • This is definitely one of my most anticipated games of next year. It looks SO good, loved the old games too. Can’t wait to get an official release date so I can start couting down the days!

  • …also, demo before release please! :)

    • We’re doing everything we can to finish the game, and, although I can’t formally comment on demo specifics, I can say “we hear you!”

  • Wow! It looks absolutely amazing! :D
All the moves and weapons shown were spectacular!

  • I haven’t been excited about a game like this in a long time. Yeah there’s a lot of good games around now but something about this game just seems awesome and I’m loving the choices in the sound department so far. If you ever do put out a demo please do not segment it, everyone should be able to experience this then buy it. Can’t wait, can’t wait, can’t wait to get my hands on this game! :) PLEASE take your time and fully cook this gem, no rushy….

  • I hate FPS games, but love Deus Ex because of the RPG elements. I recently replayed the original PC version and it still holds up pretty well. I’ve been hyped for this game since the original trailer last year. As a big fan of the Ghost in the Shell series, this game looks like the closest I’ll ever get to a good GITS video game.

  • It looks great! I just dont like seeing Square enix on your product. They don’t deserve it.

Anyway, je vais aller le pré commander bientôt. Si jamais vous avez besoin de gens pour le tester XD je suis près de Montréal lol.

  • Cool, I am starting to want this game…

  • Looks great, cant wait to get my hands on it

  • holee cow, this looks good! never played deus ex before, will definitely pre-order this. i’d love an action figure! please, no trophies on “hard mode.” takes the fun away for trophiy ho’s… er… casual gamers like me. though, 10 platinums ain’t shabby.

  • Just remembered to ask…will the soundtrack be available? I’ve loved the music in this and the previous trailers.

  • I NEED MORE GAME PLAY MECHANICS! What’s the control layout? Why did you guys decide on First Person as opposed to make the jump to Third Person (tradition or it just fits)? What kind of weapons can we expect? Anything new being tried with this game? How much time has been spent on crafting the story? How has Square aided in this development of the series since the purchase of Eidos? Paper or Plastic?

  • Day one purchase for sure. I cannot wait for this game. I’ve been a long time fan of the series and this looks like it’s going to kick it up a notch.

  • I’m interested in this game. It will be my first in the series.

  • This kind of looks like perfect dark 64 style. Looks awesome!

  • I totally agree with 19.

But please, dear god please- consider adding Move-based targeting to this game’s ps3 port. Even if it’s JUST for aiming and nothing else, you’ll please a lot of fans.

  • Sent an email asking them how they felt about PS Move in Deus Ex and got a reply from their community manager with an apology saying that they “can’t really comment on PlayStation Move stuff,” but he did follow it with this:

“I can’t speak for the whole studio regarding the device, but I know a
lot of us really like it. And when I was at Paris Games Week, I thought
it was really cool that Sony had a section for parents to bring in their
kids and to have them check out Move. It’s so cool to see that people of
    all ages can enjoy it.”

Even if the new Deus Ex misses out on the Move goodness, it’s reassuring to know that they are at least digging the device over there at Eidos.

  • Looks like a lot of work done just to kill a few guys.

  • I’m more into stealth (aka MGS games) than action, but a mix of the two seems nice too. And I suppose I’d be pretty lame not to buy this game since it’s done just around where I live (I’m from Montréal), lol.

Also, this reminds me of Crysis, and I liked it. Well, not to pay 60$ for it, but combine it with a lot of stealth and I’m buying the game.

    • I primarily play stealth as well. That and social-type gameplay. I like talking my way out of situations. Gotta use the gift of gab!

  • Hopefully this game doesn’t need tons of backstory. Does it? I still need to play the original Deus Ex which is on my computer.

  • Damn, this game is looking pretty badass. CGI trailer was amazing, and the gameplay looks great. Though it sorta looks like a game that I would like to play in third person view so I can do all badass melee stuff. Can’t wait.

  • I really hope this comes out before February. I can’t wait to get my hands on this.

  • wow I didn’t even know about this game till now, it looks awesome, can we have a demo soon? :)

  • This looks awesome. I normally don’t like shooters but story-driven shooters I very much like. This game and Homefront are definitively on my radar. Looking forward to hear more

  • Gameplay looks really good. Looking forward to this title. It’ll be my first of the series.

  • Looks nice. Keep us updated on this game. :)

  • Freaking awesome, day one buy!

  • This looks interesting; the only thing I’m concerned about is how they plan to diferentiate the main character from just a futuristic, gadget-filled Solid Snake (as if Snake wasn’t futuristic and gadget-filled enough :)

  • This confirms why I’ve been holding onto my retail gift cards! This will be a day one purchase, so far the only one of two for 2011 (sharing a spot with Batman: Arkham City). I think it’s awesome that you can see the influence from the original Deus Ex in the gameplay – something that makes me more psyched for this game. Here’s to hoping for a winter release (and Move support would be awesome too)!!!

  • Awesome, looks like something that breaks away from the conventions of modern fps games with more rpg elements. Looks great.

  • Yep, Square Enix knows how to do trailers… dammit this looks amazing, i just hope it lives up to the expectation, and to this great trailers.

  • I remember playing the original, was so much fun. The second one…not so much. I hope this turns out to be great, have it pre-ordered already either way :)

  • How does this not have a 5 rating, i think people just dont want anything to be rated 5 of 5…anyways…

Game has interested me from back when it was first introduced, been watching it, hope its as good as its looking…

  • I can’t wait to get my hands on this game. I love DX. It’s really looking better than I even expected. The trailers have been amazing.

And I’ve got a little suggestion… release the original DX (the PC version) on PSN in HD, similar to what Activision did with the original Call of Duty. I’m sure both long time DX fans and newcomers would be interested in it. Maybe include it in a limited edition.

There are actually three separate suggestions (with plenty of positive votes) on PlayStation Blog Share for this idea. Just search for “deus ex”.

  • I’m trying to download the E3 trailer theme off of the Deus Ex Web site but it just automatically starts playing it through Quicktime instead. Could you help me out with this?

Also, is there plans for a Collector’s Edition?

    • Click the banner on the main page. Then right click “DXHR Trailer Score” and select “Save link as…” and save wherever you want. If you have more trouble let me know and I’ll try and help.

  • Got to admit never heard of Deus Ex before hearing about this one and now I can’t wait for it to come out!

  • I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited for a game as I am for this. Please release it first quarter 2011!

  • Will there be a demo? I am not convinced by the gameplay, but the cutscenes were awesome

  • This gameplay trailer is fantastic. I love the explosive-tipped bullets in that big-ass revolver ;-) Props for creating a beautiful UI for the inventory/augmentation systems, too.

I just have one question: Will there be a collector’s edition or limited edition version of the game available? I’m waiting to pre-order it to see if there will be something to that effect. I’m not missing out on the chance to own a replica cybernetic Sarif Industries arm or what have you. ^_^

  • Looks pretty good!

  • I know I’m probably not going to get a response… but did Edios remove the tariler score from their site. It keeps telling me the site or the file no longer exists when I “Save Target As” it….
