To the TAX people. Sony is only collecting as required by your states sales tax board. It is likely new legislation that requires them to do so on digital goods. Call and ask, but in the end it’s your state and not Sony that is responsible.

Your words do not fall upon deaf ears. They merely fall upon those ears in which they are not wanted. Should you desire to continue posting the opinions, I suggest you get a blog. Extremely thin week for PSP owners, and seems like it’s long past time to drop the price on Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2 (the temporary price drop on the PS1 classic reminded me).

So, here’s looking forward to next week’s post as this one only added a demo I’m interested in.

One option would be to create a new account and add money to it. That way you could buy the game at sale price and still have it if/when you let your plus subscription expire on your main account.

+ Tank_Baked on November 30th, 2010 at 3:54 pm said:

Love Dead Nation. Me and my buddy are doing the online co-op and it works well. But I figured I should post this for anyone who doesn’t know

Dead Nation is fun — there’s no denying that — but there’s a game-crippling problem with it. Complicating matters, this problem is only going to affect certain gamers. Basically, if you have a full PlayStation Network Friends List and are online when trying to play, Dead Nation will freeze at the main menu. The text will sweep in from the side and freeze mid-load, which requires you to hard reset your PlayStation 3. Yes, eagle-eyed readers, this is the same problem that plagued WipEout HD years ago.

115

+ Tank_Baked on November 30th, 2010 at 3:54 pm said:

Sony and Housemarque are aware of the problem and are working on a fix, but there’s no timetable for when the patch will be ready. So, if you have a full Friends List as of the publishing of this review, you have two options to play Dead Nation: 1) Sign out of the PSN before starting the game and then play offline (which defeats the purpose of this online co-op game). 2) Delete some friends and keep them — as well as friend requests — out of the picture until Dead Nation is fixed.

Clearly, those two options are unacceptable solutions to the problem, but how should that factor into the review score? Should it at all? A lot of people will buy Dead Nation and never know that something’s wrong, but a bunch of other people will buy Dead Nation and not understand why they can’t play it. On top of that, the game will be fixed one day, so if we ding the game now and it’s fixed next week, the score doesn’t make any sense in the future.

116

+ Tank_Baked on November 30th, 2010 at 3:54 pm said:

It’s a pickle, but what I’ve decided to do is not rail on the freeze in this review. This problem sucks and it’s goofy they couldn’t have this fixed for launch, but it won’t be a problem forever. Basically, this fits into the lackluster presentation I feel Dead Nation has. So, while you won’t see the Friends List glitch mentioned anywhere else in this review, know that I’ve taken it into account while not citing it as a primary problem.

Housemarque needs to fix this asap.

I dont feel like this game deserve more than a mediocre review, at best, without chat. The whole point of getting this game was to play with friends online and talk strategy!

Legend of Dragoon
Breath of Fire
Vagrant Story
Suikoden 2

I think it’s pretty sad that everyone keeps griefing megamixer for sharing his opinion. He has his standards for what is and is not a good update, and he’s as entitled to share it as any of you sycophants are. Grow up.

Anyway, last weeks update couldn’t be topped, so this is ok. You guys really should have demos available for this big releases though, as a standard feature. I’d also appreciate it if you could shift the PS0ne focus back onto games in English, like Vagrant Story, which is out in both Japan and the EU,and has been for a very long time now. The disparity between regions in this area should be a top area of concern moving forward. Goofy off beat games like Cho Aniki are cool, but you need to make sure it remains a supporting feature, not the main feature. I can also recommend at least a dozen more games that we’ve been asking for the past several years since the feature went live, if you like.

I know what you mean Nivek. These are the lowest prices for used games on amazon. If people play these prices already, I imagine they would pay $5.99 or $9.99 for them on PSN (although some people will insist on owning physical media).

Legend of Dragoon $17.95
Legend of Legaia $25.99
Breath of Fire 3 $29.95
Breath of Fire 4 $35.00
Vagrant Story $20.95
Suikoden 2 $75.95
Tactics Ogre $55.99

1. No online chat (Really?? In a Multi-player ZOMBIE game!?)
2. Game breaking glitch (see also wipeput HD glicth)

I’m sorry but for the time DN was in development no one performed a ‘good enough quality asurance test’.

Don’t look at IGN’s review. Those idiots gave Dead Nation a 7.5. What kind of score is that? They made a big deal over some bug if your friends list is full. I guess it locks up your PS3. Big deal, just make sure you don’t have a full friends list. I wonder if they gave Fallout New Vegas a 3.5 since that game is full of bugs?

I really don’t think that with all the work they put into GT5 that GT1 & GT2 will be released as classics. Plus if you own GT5. There is NO WAY you even care about EVER playing the 1st ones again.

Not trying to be an a$$, just saying GT5 is so superior I don’t think they would even bother.
