@148 I agree, though there are still some companies that put forth more of an effort. Sometimes the fix comes much later. Boarderlands put out 2 DLCs before they fixed problems that existed since day 1. With games that are pure DLC, at least it is an easy fix. With games that ship on a disc, people that are offline are SoL.

Its another IGNorant review, what did you expect. I’ll give the game a 9/10 and the review a 2/10. -5 points for being Xbots, and -3 points for saying “flair” instead of “flare” in their presentation section (what is this, wrestling?).
Simply put, if Dead Nation was released for the other box, it would have gotten a 9 from IGN easy.
I think it’s time for a firmware update with new functions… Man, what are sony’s programmers doing? :S

Yes, the XMB is so outdated. And trying to access a message while in-game is flat out sad. On some games, it takes 15 seconds to load the full XMB, and another 10 or so seconds to load your inbox when you click it.
It’s funny how people complain about the update being too late and then when the update is on time, people complain about how it sucks. Hard to please.
They added the online co-op in late I thought. This may be why there’s no voice chat. I was looking forward to playing online with my brother, now I’m kinda like… ehhh.

Wow, the plus section is really lacking a bit hmm? Instead of giving us something free you give us a discount on a new game. Not a great trade off but not horrible either.

Today was supposed to be a major Plus update – biweekly remember? Instead we get two free themes and mini?! Don’t get me wrong, I played that mini for the last 2 hours and themes are great, i love a little history in my XMB. But what happened to the free avatars, the games, and the discounts on wide varieties of items? You gave us plus members nothing this week and you know it.

#169 – Don’t pay attention to the Metacritic score. I see it’s 81 now but looking at the 20 scores they have up most of them aren’t much as far as who to trust. I see Destructoid gave it a 60. That’s lame. I just tried to read the review but I think I’ll pass. Right from the start the guy seems to put it down for being a zombie game. It’s different than other zombie games. Why can’t reviewers look at each game for what it is and tell if it’s just a good game? Stop trying to do more than review.

Getting GT1/2 on PSN probably won’t happen. With all of the licensed music, logos, and cars, Sony would have to renegotiate so many rights their heads would spin! Such costs would more than likely far exceed what they would make back by selling them. Such is the case with many PS1/PSP classics.

To be fair we did get a demo for No More Heroes. It isn’t much, but as the game is exclusive to PSN, a demo is much appreciated!

XMB outdated? But I love it! :( How well it runs in-game is dependent on how well the game itself runs. 60fps game? XMB is fairly speedy. 15fps game? XMB runs slowly. Given how the PS3 was designed its a minor miracle in-game XMB even exists. Of course it could always be better, but who really knows how much more Sony can squeeze out of something it wasn’t meant to have in the first place?

Crisis Core is being re-released as an “International” version in Japan and will most likely hit JP PSN. If that’s the case then there’s a good chance it might come out in the west to. We’ve just got to hold out a while longer yet.

It is nice that it does work while in game. But I’m sure they could always improve on it. All of these new apps and stuff they are adding is just that much more to load each time the XMB is pulled up. So why not try to optimize it and make it run a little smoother? See what I’m getting at? LOL
And the much promised Pac Man CE as a Mini for the PSP is where?
And the PCEngine/TurboGrafix games for the PSP is where?
Not really complaning but it is kinda of laughable that one of the first Mini games is still not available. And despite the fact that we got folders for PCEngine/TG games half a year ago, there’s still nothing to put in them. :)
PS – Pac Man CE DX rocks for the PS3. Best purchased game ever as far as I’m concerned.
@140: If you’re under warranty, ship it to Sony, they will repair it. If your warranty is over, open the PS3 to get your COD: Black Ops disc back and buy a new PS3, it’s easier, almost the same price as shipping it to Sony and you get a new console instead of a refurbished one.

How about a demo for Dead Nation? Is it that difficult for Sony to put demos out for their PSN games? MS creates demos for ALL of it’s Xbox Live Arcade games – why can’t Sony do the same for it’s PSN games?

sony i wish along with those avatars you all would release some ps one classics to measure and meet up with the release of your avatars i.e. rival schools, megaman legends, sf3: 3rd strike. y’all could be capitalizing seriously! anyway it’s not sony fault for no voice chat for dead nation it’s for the house marquee development team but i will say that the dead nation game is good, but the game lacking voicechat for online co-op makes the gave very undesirable to play that was a hustle move to not include it or even give us word for it. most would think that voice-chat and online play would go hand in hand so it seems that now we have to hassle developers for simple attributes that should already be included for an online capable game. that just goes to show developers are thirsty for money and will put out anything how can you strategize online with no voicechat! smh.
The lack of voice chat in an otherwise excellent game like Dead Nation is just more ammunition for fanboys of the ‘other’ console. Hard to believe a basic requirement for online gaming isn’t built into the OS of the system to begin with and left to the whims of the game maker.

I knew this would happen (at least I hope it Is happening) when Sony announced PS+ was going to publish every other week my immediate thought was what about those months that have 5 Tuesdays instead of 4? (Which happens twice a year as anybody who gets paid every other week will readily attest). A couple of weeks ago PS+ had a full update for NOV. and guess what, it’ still NOV.
My best guess – the 7th and 21st (or 14th and 28th) will be the REAL updates for DEC and this is just a throwaway week. (crosses fingers)

Does anyone else find the controls in dead nation to not work extremely well? Like… it forces you to sort of walk and aim? But often times not in the direction one would like to walk or aim? What about some type of aim assist? I can understand making it more difficult to hit tons of zombies at once, but cmon, To me, the controls leave a LOT to be desired…
Some positive points on Dead Nation:
It’s scary.Love the music and sound effects. Really makes it much more immersive. Especially in a nice surround sound setup with all of the lights off or set low. Wonderful mood etc. I want to like the game a lot, but the controls are really hindering my experience thus far. :/
Finally, a day one discount for PS+ members. Dead Nation is a must-buy now.
Well people complaining about PS+ you should also notice that the update came in NOVEMBER and thats why there was not to much in it. The December stuff will come in DECEMBER oddly enough. People need to relax.
Can Sony and the devs. of Dead Nation comment about their bugged game? The game has a freezing issue.
How about some FREE DLC and Themes for the NON-PLUS Members for once….
