+ DAnnyDanger on December 6th, 2010 at 5:08 pm said:
better safe than sorry :)
+ ReefrRulz on December 6th, 2010 at 5:08 pm said:
I’m just hoping this will cure my trophy sync failing at 11%.
It’d be nice if this would trim some of the fat off the ingame XMB, also. Cleaning up the icons that appear but can’t access unless you quit game would help the speed. I would think anyway
+ Zhi13 on December 6th, 2010 at 5:10 pm said:
Ok! thanks for the heads up
+ jazzyrider on December 6th, 2010 at 5:10 pm said:
Please clarify on the security update! And is it required?
+ Joaquin27488 on December 6th, 2010 at 5:14 pm said:
Of course it’s required, it’s mandatory to have the latest firmware installed to be able to log on PSN.
Let’s hope this takes care of hackers for a while.
+ AG-WarFighter on December 6th, 2010 at 5:14 pm said:

I’d rather have an update that fixes the slow WiFi downloads :-)
(google: ps3 slow download wpa2 for example)

I wonder what Sony’s gonna remove now!
+ DNAgent on December 6th, 2010 at 5:22 pm said:
I don’t always update, but when I do…It’s a security update.
But seriously, how about that cross-game voice chat?
+ Fenrir2606 on December 6th, 2010 at 5:22 pm said:
At least this time you all said its a security update instead of “this update increases compatibility with certain games” lol One step in the right direction.
+ Trixzter7 on December 6th, 2010 at 5:22 pm said:
It should be illegal for me to have to download an update that does basically nothing when I could be playing Gran Turismo 5.
+ Destiny89 on December 6th, 2010 at 5:22 pm said:
Aww i was hoping for a big update that adds something new, i would like to have a voice message added to ps3

+ Enforcer_X on December 6th, 2010 at 5:25 pm said:
Boring … thanks a lot hackers and thank you Sony for pounding the rest of us that aren’t engaging in hacking our systems.
Please see my Blog Share idea regarding an open app store/market place for these very talented hackers/developers to showcase there work.

I bet its more than a security update… Maybe something secret will be put into this update.
+ Taker_129 on December 6th, 2010 at 5:29 pm said:
Blame the media for complaining about the updates. I loved when the ps3 got updated because that meant the ps3 was getting a new feature. But as usual, the media b#tches about it and now Sony has reduced the amount of updates we get a year. I really hate the gaming media with all their bias. But Sony keep up the good work. More updates please.
+ POI2NO_DETECTIVE on December 6th, 2010 at 5:29 pm said:
Dont waste my time and bandwidth sony, at least add a feature

People have been asking for certain features for years now, and you intentionally ignore them.
Yet a firmware is jailbroken and bam, within 72 hours a new firmware rolls out.
Why not show such enthusiasm for other features?
+ Kamiboy on December 6th, 2010 at 5:37 pm said:
Oh, wonderful, another one of those. This sort of bollocks is what killed the PSP, so why not keep it up SCE?
+ GooDer_gAMe on December 6th, 2010 at 5:40 pm said:
Great update. Love updates of all kinds, major features or not. Better than getting 1 update yearly. Keep up the good work.

i don’t mind a security update but add some new features. i usually wait a few days after a firmware is out to see the feedback from those that downloaded it. SONY you need to add new features not just mandate us with a security update . I don’t think sony can stop the downgrader. GIVE US NEW FEATURES! EVERYBODY JOIN TOGETHER AND DEMAND NEW FEATURES! AND GIVE ME BACK OTHER OS! INDIAN GIVERS! end of rant . here come the sony bendovers….
+ hdx514 on December 6th, 2010 at 5:44 pm said:
The PS3 was jailbroken several months ago, I fail to see how it’s surprising at all that we’re entering the firmware arms race phase – it’s only natural. Don’t blame Sony, blame the jailbreakers.
The scene guys came up with ways to downgrade v3.50 to v3.41, and more recently showed vids running unsigned codes on v3.50. What do you expect Sony to do, do nothing and let everyone FTP illegal downloaded games to their console and hack trophy info?
+ Link01 on December 6th, 2010 at 5:45 pm said:
Good for the security… but you guys are a little over due for a big update, no offense.

@32: I don’t think Sony has ever released those kinds of updates for the PS3. I mean, I don’t know about anyone else, but I sure didn’t ask for a video editor, colorful friend lists, Home, and all the other junk we get.
This nonsense is a waste of our time. The pirates are just going to crack the new update soon enough, and then we’ll get another worthless update, and another and another and another. Just stop wasting our time with these silly things and work on actual features.
