Good update, been waiting for Sam and Max since Europe got it. Although I am getting a error when I try to download it. Maybe the DC beta will be done updating and it’ll be fixed. :) A few nice avatars this week too! :D I don’t know why people are calling this a weak update. :\ Prototype is way over priced though. Should be 15$..

Wow. For me, this update makes up for a lot of lackluster ones we’ve had recently for PS+. A game (Sam & Max, no less), a mini, a beta, and even a PSone all the same week. Thank you.
I am a bit dismayed at Fieldrunners popping up again so soon. If titles start repeating after only 5-6 months, it really lowers the value of the service.
Add this to the already reduced expectations (they were stated at the start of ps+, and then slightly decreased a few months later here on the blog — yes, we noticed), and the value dwindles.
Strictly speaking, as long as I get $3-4 worth of titles each month, it’s paying for itself. But considering I had to pay up front, and have no choice over titles offered, it takes a lot more than $3-4 worth of offerings for me to get $3-4 of entertainment out of it (else I’d best just save my money and buy my choice, right?). I will say that I do get that most months (and this month makes up for the ones I didn’t). But I don’t like this “repeat” trend. If it’s a trend. There are a LOT of minis to offer. Why repeat after 6-7?
Any word on Under Siege? I was looking forward to getting it today but I don’t see it in the store or in the list of updates.

SAM and MAX (hear me out before you think this is a error code thing, i am offering a possible solution)
When i was looking through the store every Episode except 1 have dissapeared. Did a quick “Search” For “Sam”.
Episode 5 “{Item not found”
Episode 4 “Item Not Found”
Episode 3 “Item not Found”
Episode 2 “Item Not found”
Episode 1 “Buy”—–> “$8.99”
So that might be the issue for the error code, the content are not there anymore

I love the PS+ offering this week (Sam & Max, a mini, AND a psone. Plus a nice-looking beta!). Makes up for a few lackluster weeks we’ve had.
I don’t like that FieldRunners showed up again already, though, even though I didn’t have it. If offerings start repeating after only six months, a year subscription is worth half what I thought. Please don’t make this a trend. There’s a huge catalog of minis by now. Why repeat already?

There are no demos because there are no games coming out in December. Next week we get three demos from games that come out in January.

@AddisonW – megamixer has every right to complain here, PSN does not exist in a void, the two main counterparts to PSN would be Steam and Xbox Live in my eyes, and BOTH of them have better sales year round than PSN. PSN has the worst sales ever, box retail games go on sale all the time, why not good PSN games? Steam should be the sale model they follow, have a weekly deal, big sales at holidays. Heck Steam has mid-week madness as well. if you see the amount of sales Steam has every time they do these holiday sales it blows PSN out of the water. Economically i guarantee it would be good for PSN and “going digital” in the long run. i have bought like 30 titles so far on PSN, but now at this point I want some sales. And unless you do PS+ you seem to be out of luck.
And Xbox Live has demos for everything from what Ive seen, some PSN games don’t even have a video preview, that is insane. Every game should have a preview video, and try harder for a demo. And its a fact we are way behind in PSOne games, why wouldn’t you complain?
Sam and Max!!! Nice stuff. And fairly new stuff at that. That’s what I’ve been waiting for with PS+. I hope this trend continues.
Galaxy Fight? Awesome. Seriously, tipped me over to getting a 3 month for the obscure japanese games, that otherwise could only be found in the Mechanical Musee and hole in the wall arcades in San Francisco or Los Angeles. Requesting Fighter’s History Dynamite for next obscure fighting game when the Neo Geo games start coming in.
Sam and Max is working perfectly fine for me! =D. By the way: WOW, this is by far the best update ever for PS+. My god, pretty impressive. I’ll try the DC Universe Beta when it’s finished downloading! The only thing I already had is CTR, but at least now I won’t have to put the disc in the ps3, haha.

Question & problem
1. How long will Sam and Max be FREE for us PLUS subscribers?
1A. Is there a time limit on how long that deal will be free?

2. How long we will have access to the DC Universe ONline Beta?
I ask these 2 important questions because while I’m a PS+ Subscriber & a PS Rewards Beta member invitee, the “problem” is, I just had to RETURN the “brand new refurbished PS3, that Sony sent me because THAT DIED AS WELL!!
My original 60gb PS3, died via YLOD on NOV. 24th, had to send it in to be “serviced”.
I got a PS3 back on December 2nd & 2 days later that dies a YLOD as well. It’s not even like it was over heating-heck it wasn’t even warm.
I call Sony Support & was told they NEVER heard of someone getting back a PS3 from service & then hearing that one died as well.
Be that true or not, that fact remains that now with this 2nd PS3 dying, I’m 4-6 weeks behind in downloading all game updates, DLC-Patches-New Releases-Demos, the PS PLUS Demo’s & all that good stuff! As well as 4-6 weeks behind in earning PS Rewards. & HOME updates!
