  • Blaaaaaarghhhaaaargh… excuse me while I wipe the vomit from my mouth.

Allow me to reiterate: Sony, do you even care about staying competitive or pleasing your dwindling install base? For the love of your fans, do something- anything, already. Stop with the effortless store and firmware updates, and redeem PSN+ from being the laughing stock that it is. The other guys are constantly innovating and improving their service while releasing awesome retail and digital downloads on a steady basis… which begs to ask, what are YOU doing?

By all means, I’m a Sony die-hard, but it’s hard to justify liking the company when they’ve done so much procrastinating this gen.

  • I dont care about the update much. I just think ps3 needs a redesign update. The xmb is getting boring.

  • That really is a pretty awful update. As a new PSP Go owner, especially. You wanna have some sales? Drop some prices? The PSP section is where you need to be doing it. Seriously. Additionally, you did not send me the code to redeem my free games, the PSP Go box said when I signed in on it with my PSN account, I would be emailed the codes for the three free games, (LBP, Ratchet, and a Socom game) and I did. But I have not received an email. If it doesn’t arrive soon, I’m going to sale this thing and move on from your systems forever. That’s blatant bait and switch. (and yes the offer is still valid, I checked)

  • This update is not becoming of the New Year to be honest. The only good thing I saw logged onto the store was the price breakdowns for DCU subscriptions. Now after reading how they handle our subscriptions there’s no excuse as to why Plus doesn’t get a discount on it since it’s all done by our wallet.

  • Where are the Rush and Police track packs? I can’t find them under Special Offers or the normal rock band add-on section.

  • Also, those are the only 2 that are missing of the ones on sale, and the ones I was most interested in.

  • ok? so i pay 3 cents more if i buy the dead rising 2 dlc as a bundle? i’ll just go with the 7-8 extra clicks…

  • Not every update can consist of new games and demos when there aren’t any new games and demos to offer. People should appreciate the constant content that PSN puts out on a weekly basis. Compare it to Xbox Live and WiiWare and you’ll see what I mean.

I look forward to Tuesday every week, rock on Sony/Playstation.

  • Grace and co. couldn’t be bothered with updating the Store tonight. They were downtown at the court house all day filling out their restraining orders for Geohot and fail0verflow.

  • Well, even though this update isn’t that good, it’s definitly not the worst (I’m pretty sure a year or two ago we had an update with all videos, themes, wallpapers and maybe a demo or two). Anyway, I’m looking forward to next week. We get Modern Combat Domination and hopefully a sale on the LittleBigPlanet DLC (50% off please?)

  • Qore isnt connecting to the store for the download center for me. Anyone else having issues?

  • @ 151 Rebeljd

What about for the psp? there are a TON and i mean tons of games still not on the psn. ill admit ever update doesnt need new games, but what about games still not on the psn?

  • Hey, thanks for the “Yellow Light of Death” Sony! I would have loved to enjoy this update with everyone else but obviously can’t now. R.I.P. 60GB Launch PS3. 11/17/2006-1/11/2011.

  • Shouldn’t have taken out OtherOS no matter how few used it xD

  • So, where can I find a list of upcoming games for the Network Store?

  • They weren’t kidding when they said updates take longer when there is more content.

This was a VERY fast update. But seriously, Japan Sony Store is CHEAPER than retail (rightfully so, as there is NO cost for production).

  • Alright update but sheesh so much whining and hating here.

  • Could we get a sale on some Dragon Age: Origins DLC/Awakening?

  • Sony this is bullcrap all this crappy content at the beggining of the year. lol only thing to look forward to is Pulse. now i also here that the hackers are being sued for the recent ps3 security break in if you all would give us some worthwhile apps I could bet my last dime that the ps3 would not have been hacked heck even if we just got cross game chat from sony we would be happy but nooooooo you all want to ignore the consumers and just give us crappy security updates smh. man you guys really need to step this up! for real!

  • This week is lackluster indeed, but cant have awesome updates every week. Can’t wait for next week! LBP2 CE!!!! I might even have enough money to spare for ME2 which I was gonna get anyway, but might get sooner than I thought! Quite the predicament though, I’ve played ME2 before, but not the extra dlc episodes that come with the ps3 version, then again I haven’t played Dead Space 2(obviously) which I also want…….decisions decisions….

  • wow what a disappointing store update :(

  • @151

Comparing it to XBL is one of the many reasons people are so upset.

  • I have two questions:
#1: Can you guys make an update that increases the maximum number of friends you can add? because it’s hard to delete old friends… and i’m running out of people to delete (other people may have this problem too)
#2: I subscribed to the PlayStation Plus one week after it came out in, since then, i’ve been keeping up with the subscription, but I didn’t receive an invitation to the PlayStation Rewards beta. Why didn’t I, and other people that subscribed early didn’t get this?
    PS- good update :D
PSS- The Tester Season 2 WAS AWESOME

  • Terrible,

I went out on a limb even buying a ps3 over a year ago.. i was and AM completely satisfied with my product from M$. One, your playstation move is garbage. Two, keep this up and I wont be getting a new Playstation when that comes around. Three, give us some respect. We all paid good money for this product and the content is terrible. I’m not going to make this into a M$ vs PS3 rant. Give me a good reason why the releases are at god aweful times, why party chat is such a chore, and why I should even bother anymore. I truely was extatic when I got my ps3, the only reason it has got any use in the past 6 months is to knock out FFXII and for Blu-Rays. Other than those two reasons, i have a big paperweight. I’ve been waiting semi-patiently hoping for Parasite Eve to be released and think its garbage for part to have it and others left out. Your Corporate angle is disheartening and for priding yourselves on offering a Great home product, you’re disgracing yourselves and everyone who bought your product. In the end, to me you’re becoming the Myspace of this time and are fading away to the point past a fad into something that people will laugh at on a new I love series on VH1. This update was garbage!!

  • Demon’s Souls Dynamic theme please. It’s been ~15 months since the game has been out. Over 1 year since it was released in Japan. Q_Q

  • So what happened with that Killzone 3 theme that was supposed to come with Qore?

  • Am I really the only person that noticed that the Faery games have two different titles in this post:

    Faery: Tales of Avalon ($14.99)

    Game Demos (free)
    Faery: Legends of Avalon Demo

    Typo?

  • coulda sworn fight night champion was demo supposed to be out. Was gonna take on the dev to a match. waited all night too. awww not great update, nothing for US Plus peeps.

  • Atualização de merda …. nao tem nada que presta !!!

  • It’s so impressive that everyone buys every game every week and then finishes every single game in a week and needs more games to play immediately. You guys are all very good at video games.

  • *Yawn*

Once again I’ll put out my comment that you need to focus more on PS1 Classics that are missing.

    Suikoden II?
    Legend of Dragoon?
    etc etc

  • apparently grace chen’s new year’s resolution DID NOT include “engage the blog community”.

  • I find it ironic that people complain about any level of updates to the store. Just a few years ago when there wasn’t a store then what? you’d have to wait for the magazines and weekly drops at a local chain to pick up something. Be happy you get the option of any weekly content! DL for Qore for me…there should also be a tie-in with print (or online media).

  • @117 @159 @173

Are you downloading Qore through PS+ or the subscription service for Qore? I downloaded Qore last night but haven’t opened it. PS+ members without a separate Qore subscription usually lose out on the downloads. They started fragmenting Qore/PS+ this past fall after the Qore episode that included the TerRover demo, which then became exclusive to PS+ the next week causing a whole bunch of whining which seems to have been fixed by denying PS+ members Qore downloads.

  • Hold on a sec… LINKIN PARK?!?!?!? And all songs I know! Pack One eh? That mean more coming? Gotta get Rock Band 3 now…

  • I am rather getting frustrated that their were no psone classics where is crash bash??? So I can Finish My Crash Bandicoot Collection!!!!! Their really should be a program where we can vote on what we want seen in an update for the PS STORE!!!!!!!

  • Junk update, kinda getting used to it now :/.

The Qore would be epic if there wasnt already a Qore For DCUO and LBP2.

    <3 that loves listens…

  • OMG this update made me laugh worst ever ever!!!

  • I can’t belive it takes an whole department to get 1 demo up. LOL:)

  • Is there a reason Tekken 6 is still 39.99…. amazon.com is selling the umd for 1/4th the cost on the PSN. 30 dollars for convenience is not cool.

  • Thanks for the update. Picked up a few items. But the download section of Qore still states there is nothing available.

  • What a garbage of a update. Where’s Legend of Mana, Arc the Lad III and Xenogears?

  • Love qore!!!

  • Didn’t expect a whole lot this week, but I’m not gonna complain on what wasn’t there. I’m just waiting on next Tuesday to get here. LBP2 CE + ME2 = WIN.

  • i heard rumors that psn was going to come out with more classics i must say im disapointed in you PSN bad PSN no cookie

  • Another awful January update. Way to start the new year will a bang!

  • @192: Look again, Arc the Lad III came out last week.

  • where the hell is xenogears…………..

  • WOW another update thats not worh nothing where in the hell is Dino crisis 2.

  • A very pathetic start to 2011. Back to the Future would’ve been nice.
