All of you are complaining, but you wont when you enter a miltiplayer match and someone is cheating. You people are whining babies.
yea,, well im not happy bout this,, but im not mad either. im a hacker for mw2 and thats all i can do. but i dont go into public matches with it. i host private matches where we can all just jump high and run fast and stuff. but either way im still gonna play mw2 and have fun doing it, well if this download will act right lol
Great work getting some security patches out but i doubt just one update will do any good. keep up the work sony.
whoa, d/l went super-slow up to about 60% then it instantly completed (up to 99, then 100%)… at least the 30 minute wait i thought i had coming ended up being only 15… but seriously Sony, why would you not release this earlier in the day?
and while we’re all talking about our system health, i have an original launch “fat” 60gb that is still going strong. used to run super hot with Red Dead Redemption though, but otherwise only time it freezes are games w/ lots of bugs (Black Ops, New Vegas, Fat Princess)

how long ago was that exactly? there was a good amount of time from when sony took care of the linux issue until the jailbreak came out, but I don’t remember seeing any update during that time that I looked forward to…

It’s amazing to see all the comments from people who can’t be bothered to 30+ minutes for an update. Sorry but gaming should not be such an integral part of your life that you can’t be without it for a small period of time. Go do something productive instead of complaining.

Was able to download update and install within 10 mins. No issues.
Forget cross-game chat or any of that malarkey. I want a way for me to retrieve data from a HDD that was in a PS3 that YLOD’d. Is that so much to ask for? I mean, I don’t want to go back and Red Dead Redemption all over again, but I guess I’ll have to. Thanks for murdering hours of my life.

Sooo…i read that all of u guys r havin trouble beint stuck at various %, but mine just downloaded fine…and i was done in 10 minutes…but i’m preget sure they’ve done something more than just security patch…coz my system just got a helluva lot faster…. Loading times in Medal of Honor just got friggin fast
It would be nice if sony would update our internet browser a lot of places i go on it says that internet explorer 6 is outdated and it gets really annoying!!!!!

Well i called SONY for playstation 3 support and they guy on the phone said that hey put the usb downloads the next day on their website so ppl like me who download directly to the usb and then install on ps3 will have to wait till tomorrow bc i try to update from system and doesnt let me im on wifi at my grandmas and i get free wifi from somebody lol

It’s barely been an hour since the patch went live and SOOOO many whiners, wow, i hope all you wanna be hacks gets their system bricked.
About 45 mins and 1 try. Nothing beats the original ps3 :) when the slashed the price they slashed the hardware.
Finally passed 0%, currently on 3% gonna leave it all night long…not going to risk losing a unique chance perhaps

And to encourage the hackers to update to the latest firmwares, why don’t you add something good to it? You know, like a new feature worth updating for? Is that such a difficult thing to figure out?

The rule of thumb for anti-piracy is that it’s great up until it starts making things worse for people who DON’T pirate.
Sony is crossing this line at this point. It’s becoming frustrating for honest users.
I kept getting stopped at about 15% to due to errors. I’ve been at it for about an hour or so, but so far on this try I’m at 21%…I hope it makes it to the end this time.

Why are you blaming the hackers? If sony would put out anything worthwhile the scene would likely decline…but sony dont give a damn
UPDATE IS NOT INSTALLING FOR ME! I have tried at least 4 times and it has failed anywhere from 10% to 37%. I have never tampered with my PS3, and have never had problems with past updates!
(I see others are having the same problem)
Tried the download and it turned my system into a dead system downloaded to 19% stopped rebooted and then turn green lite red light right away tried system restore same thing!
Thank SONY now I have a busted system is your security flaw going to fix my system for free?
this system is a original 60gb release system bought new by me and has been babbied since it been new cleaned weekly for dust and actually played very little more netflix than anything else!
Guess it is time to dump the junk and buy a new bluray player with apps to get netflix back I am tired of this crap update and update and update and update and the whole time it should be called downgrade and downgrade and downgrade hell its not even a good bluray player anymore!

Sony should stop with these security patches. People broke their code big deal. They were the last console this gen to get hacked. They should pat themselves on the back for that. Now stop wasting the time of those that want to legitimately support them and give us something good, like a new ingame xmb. Some people actually hack because they want some cool features, PSP is boring without the custom themes, gameboots, etc. I envy my friend and his PSP. But Sony could give us all those features and then hacking would be pointless.
The iphone is hacked less and less because the features that you can get are practically the same as the normal so now the community for that is cool features(which went back to normal) and pirates(which are frowned upon by everyone)
