Hope you all had a nice Valentine’s Day. We’re continuing to spread the love around PlayStation Plus into March with four featured games, an early access demo for Playstation Move, and a discount on another PlayStation Network exclusive title – all coming to you on March 1.
As mentioned in an earlier post about the arrival of the SEGA Genesis Collection, PlayStation Plus subscribers will get Sonic the Hedgehog for free and one month early from when it will be released to the rest of the PlayStation Network! Not that it needs much of an introduction, but SEGA is reviving the classic adventures as Sonic battles Dr. Robotnik for control of South Island. Speed through classic levels like “Green Hill Zone” as you unlock trophies in this piece of gaming history. The SEGA Vintage Collection also includes Streets of Rage 2, Golden Axe 2, Altered Beast and many more – all free for PlayStation Plus subscribers.
In addition to Sonic the Hedgehog, we are offering downloads of a sequel of one of our favorite PSone series and a full game trial of one of our signature “Play, Create, Share” titles. We’re happy to release Spyro: Year of the Dragon, from Insomniac Games, which is the third installment in the PSOne series. This is a great follow up for any PlayStation Plus subscribers who downloaded Spyro the Dragon and Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage. Also, be sure to download the full-game trial for ModNation Racers, developed by United Front Games. With the highly active community there are tons of mods, karts and tracks to download and try out. PlayStation Plus subscribers will also get early access to the demo for PlayStation Move Heroes. Explore the familiar landscapes from the smash hit franchises Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, and Sly Cooper – ripped apart and rebuilt for the PlayStation Move Motion Controller.
Finally, our update includes a discount of 80% off on Blast Factor – one of the first PlayStation Network exclusives – and downloads for Enigmo (the new mini from Pangea Software) and Pix’n Love Rush, which are both being offered to PlayStation Plus for free two weeks prior to their release to the rest of the PlayStation Network.

You should probably change it to say “Playstation Move Heroes DEMO” underneath the featured games. It makes it appear as though you’re giving this game away for free to us.

Sony for the love of god stop giving us Spyro the Dragon. Every single thing you give away (with Qore, Plus) its always the same Spyro game. We get it, its easy for you to give away, but please do something else for a change.

Are the Sega Genesis Collection games coming out individually? This article says that all the games (Gauntlet II, Altered Beast, etc..) are going to be free for PS+ subscribers, and then it says Sonic is our free game for March.
I’m gonna be bummed if the free downloadable games are all genesis ports for the next 4 months. That’d be super lame.
You guys really need to get better about being clear whats being offered. Again, quite a few people will only read the bullet points and not the rest of the article.

I know you and your team at SCEA enjoy getting ideas and such. So I was thinking it would be nice to have a Retail Game Store Front for the games such as (Mod Nation, MAG, God of War, and Tomb Raider. This would make finding those games just a bit easier. Also in the PlayStation Network Exclusives Store Front, it would be nice to have the option to only show PSP Games or PS3 Games.

@12 “Coming down” means for PS+. They will still be available in the store, just not for free/discounted for PS+ users.
@14 Speak for yourself. I personally purchased the first Spyro game and am VERY happy to get the following two games for free via PS+. YOU may not like it, but there are plenty more who do.

That technically already exists, just go to the games section. Should be a Disc Icon that says “PS3 Games”.
Just occurred to me, why aren’t we getting the genesis collection for PSP also? Or is the UMD already on the PSN?

Also there’s not going to be any special deals to PlayStation Plus subscribers for Pixel Junk Shooter 2? damn! i might not have enough for it then if they don’t release a discount on the game for people who bought the first game.
Wow I was right on the verge of suscribing to PS+ for a year. Sign up now, pick up Digger HD before its taken down, pick up Stacking, and the next free game is……..SONIC 1??? Seriously??? I own that game at least 2 or 3 times already. Oh well, saved me $50.

Whats up with all these PS1 games.. Where the PS2 games at..I want GTA: San Andreas its the number 1 selling ps2 of all time. I dont need it HD or nothing just the game.

Sony : For the game trials, please, do something for the trophy list of game trials and regular games, like create a folders just for game trials trophies because even if nobody saw them, I’m stuck with them in my game list and I dont like it at all and because of his, I didnt try trials games anymore.
