Hi everybody! We’re wrapping up production on Cars 2, and now we’re excited to announce that Cars 2: The Video Game will be presented in 3D exclusively on the PS3. We’ve worked very closely with Pixar to bring a cool Cars 2 game to life, and it’s even more exciting to bring all of those great characters to life in a full 3D experience. Pixar has created such vibrant worlds that resonate so well with audiences that it seemed a natural extension to take the game to a 3D setting — just like the upcoming film.
What’s more, our engineers were able to design a system that allows us to harness the power of the PS3 to display the game in four-player split screen in full 3D. It made the PlayStation 3 the perfect choice for developing a 3D game. We’re really looking forward to delivering a special racing game, and I hope you will enjoy playing it as much as we do!
The 3D aspect for the PS3 enables you to step into the game world and experience it the same way you will in a 3D-equipped theater. You’ll get an extra visceral component to the gameplay that you just don’t get on any other platform.

Hi everyone! The best thing about my first post on the PlayStation.Blog is that it’s an announcement! Our very first PS3 title Time Machine: Rogue Pilot is in the final stages of development and will be available in PSN later this spring (hurray!), which is totally exciting for our studio.
Time Machine: Rogue Pilot combines all my favorite elements from the “match three” and hidden object genre, combined with full HD graphics and a great soundtrack. Your task is to time travel through different eras to fix the past and save he future!
First, some backstory! The Time Machine was built by a genius professor for the good of humanity, but it was stolen by a fellow named Jack, who has an interest in bringing destruction to the world. He jumps from one era to another and creates chaos to the timeline. While playing for Ilona, a young girl who was brave enough to chase Jack, you’ll have to collect special crystals in match-three missions that serve as fuel for your Time Machine, enabling you to jump from one era to another.
Nearly 100,000 people have downloaded and played our “LittleBigPrius” level since it was released in early February. As you know, we asked the LittleBigPlanet community to use the objects they earned from playing our level to create their own Prius-themed levels, and the response was overwhelming.
The community has spoken, the judges have rendered a verdict, and we’re happy to announce the contest winners. Finalists, who have won a PlayStation Move Sports Champion bundle, include:
Firstly let me introduce myself to those of you who don’t know me. My name is Mie Kumagai and I’m the Executive Producer on Virtua Tennis 4 and have worked on the game since the original version became available in 1999 on arcade machines across the world. This is the first of a series of blogs about Virtua Tennis 4, which is out on May 10th, but I’d like to start with a few words about the big earthquake that hit Japan on March 11.
Everybody over here deeply appreciates your concern and consideration for us. Things have still not gotten back to normal, and areas around Tokyo are suffering from planned outages due to electricity shortages, but we are doing our very best to deliver Virtua Tennis 4 to you.
Today’s blog is geared up to tell you all about what’s new for Virtua Tennis 4 on the PlayStation 3, there are a host of new features including PlayStation Move compatibility, a brand new World Tour and online centre, plus plenty of others.
The boys of summer go back to work today as select stadiums around the country unlock their doors for MLB Opening Day. So, to kick off the baseball season we thought it’d be fitting for you to hear from a former big leaguer, someone who’s been in the trenches and powered through the grind of a 162 game season. Therefore, I’m pleased to introduce our good friend Eric Karros, who joins the MLB 11 The Show broadcast booth this year. Karros, the 1992 National League Rookie of the Year and former Los Angeles Dodger first baseman, completes our commentary trio, throwing his hat into the ring with The Show veterans Matt Vasgersian and Dave Campbell. Certainly no stranger to the limelight, Karros currently works as an MLB color commentator for FOX, as well as KCAL-TV in Los Angeles, where he’s part of the pre-game show for Dodger games.
