Sonic the Hedgehog would of been nice a long time ago but I have zero interest in it at this time. Since we don’t get cross game chat I regret subscribing to PlayStation Plus as I never play the free games as even if their reviewed high, my interest is next to zero in them. That includes Stacking, Sonic, etc. Oh well, it expires in the summer or somewhere around there and it won’t be renewing.

I think I just get bored with downloads far to quickly lol.

Terrific update!! I can’t wait for sonic 2!! The save feature in the sega genesis games is awesome! We have passed the age to play those games in one seat! The demos are really nice too, and I’m downloading the full game trial of modnation racers. I was wondering about buying it, now I’ll have the chance to try and see for myself if I should buy the game. I’m still thinking about buying Blast Factor. 2$ isn’t much and the game looks good, but I still have 3 games waiting in my line up just at the right of my PS3, still in their packaging, lol. Anyway, I’ll see that today or tomorrow.

Nice update again! The only thing I can ask for now is Firmware updates with features and functions (see Playstation.share)! =D

@FEARLESS1 Because You Have Fallen Behind The Times And Need To Upgrade To A Larger Hard Drive.. Otherwise Get Used To Having No Room, Because Files Will Only Continue To Get Larger As More And More Advanced Games Go Digital. Get With The Times Or Be Left Behind. It Cost Less Than $100 For Me To Go To Best Buy And Upgrade My PS3 To 640gb, And That Was Almost A Year Ago. Its Super Easy To, Took Like 10 Minutes And Now I Never Worry Bout Having Room For Anything… Ever. ^.^

And BTW Changing Out PS3′s HDD Does Not Void Your Warranty. And Sony Even Provides The Instructions On How It’s Done On Their Website. And Lots Of Good Tutorial Videos On YouTube. The PS3 Was Designed So That Consumers Could Upgrade The Hard Drive Themselves As The Times/File Sizes Dictate. ^^

Vagrant Story + 97 MB + 2 Discs = ???

Anyway, that should be the last of Square Enix’s PS1 classics. At least on the Square side. If we factor in Enix then as far as I know only 2 classics remain: Star Ocean: The Second Story (and with it, its remake…which I so desperately need since my UMD broke) and Dragon Quest VII.

Also I just realized – Up until DQ7, DQ has been released in a similar style to Final Fantasy, with 3 games on each system, up until 7, as 8 was on PS2, and 9 on DS.

I just played a few matches of the Online Battle Mode, and it is pretty cool.

You don’t have to be uber-equipped to be competitive, or even victorious. I just finished up a match against a dude that severely outclassed me, all because I stole back one of his Survivors and recovered an early match Survivor fumble that was near my scoring zone.

The set-up is intuitive, competitive in a number of ways, and should continue to deliver surprisingly impressive action. Were it not past 3AM here, I’d probably be stuck in it for another hour before going back to the campaign. :D

I heard a rumor that free or discounted games available to Playstation Plus subscribers may be locked to one system. We all know that game sharing allows up to 5 downloads of each piece of content.

I think my friend who told me this is just hating on me because I almost caught up to him in trophies. I haven’t seen any posts or news stories about this. Can anyone confirm, specifically for the Sonic game that was released yesterday, is game sharing open and allowed for the other Playstations users sharing that main account?

Thanks.

In terms of MOVE integration, Top Spin 4 is a pathetic joke. It basically just factors in the timing of your swing — nothing else. You can’t control direction or angle of the racket. You can’t lob the ball (without pushing a button to modify your regular swing). It has no idea if you’re swinging forehand or backhand. It doesn’t track your motion at all.

This is like Wii in the early days.

Pathetic.

Why is it that a mini-game like Table Tennis for MOVE (Sports Champions) can manage to track a racket almost perfectly, but a top-shelf big-budget game like Top Spin can’t?

Pathetic. Pathetic.

HD Size isn’t the only concern with large files on the PSN. The US isn’t the most internet connected country, and I believe that the average speed is around 1.5mb. 10GB files would take forever to download and the users experience might be negative. Sony has to keep both in mind to make sure the experience is good. Or else sales might go down. That would be bad as they want to finally profit from the PSN.

I am a plus member, and I trade my other activations out to four different friends. I can verify for you that my activated friends can download and use all of my free plus goodies, and none of them is on plus. So, it would appear that activations also extend to plus membership. Pretty sweet, though I’m shocked that they let that work that way. When they give me one free game, they give out five technically. :)

@180 you are the reason why DRM exists. Go die please.

Also I love these whiners. They whine for a game to come out nonstop and spam every blog post looking for an 10 year + old game…that tbh isn’t that good anyway. Yes I said, Vagrant Story is mediocre at best. Then once it comes out they spam the blog with “Thanks for VS..but where is Chrono Cross????” Then once CC comes out, they will pick some other crappy game…probably Einhander or Threads of Fate and beg for that to come out.

News flash guys, those games are old and nobody really cares to play them anymore. You’d rather live out your crappy childhood through nostalgia then play new games? Then go buy a playstation 1 and buy the disk versions you ignorant turds.

good luck getting banned. you obviously didnt read the TOS or you’d know that what you are doing is illegal and Sony has the right to not only banned your account, but probably your friends account also.

@181

I dont see whats wrong with getting old games. majority of the time they are better than whats getting released now! plus the only reason as to why people complained about VS, Xenogear was because other places got it first, and the ESRB got it rated, but no other info was giving to us as to when it was getting released. kinda sad to always come here waiting for a game to be released only to see it wasnt, now keep this going from year to year and it will grow on you.

I mean look at the psp side. there are a ton of game still not on the psn for people with psp go (like myself) so we have to come here see if the game is release and always get left disappointed because they rarely update the psp games. Heck i have even e-mail a couple Devs (Square and Bandai) to see whats the hold up and most have said they havent heard anything from sony side.

+ Tank_Baked on March 2nd, 2011 at 10:25 am said:

lol nobody will be getting banned for gamesharing . It’s impossible for them to know who actually owns the ps3 . As many people ( including myself) own multiple ps3′s .

Besides do you realize how much money they would lose by killing the 5 activation rule? I know many people who would stop buying things altogether,including me .

And I spend far too much money in the PS store .

Nice update for the Store.

Btw, any word on when the next episode of the Back To The Future game will be released? The game said that episode 2 would be coming out in February 2011, yet it’s not in the PS Store.

For everyone buying PixelJunk Shooter 2, I’m starting a score chase contest.

To join you just need a slot free on your friends list to add my account. Send a friend request to PS-Level to participate.

First 100 requests will join the contest.

After that just play the game, and the highest score on the 1P Play Global Ranking leader board will win a $20 PSN Card.

I’m wanting to give contests like this once a month. Let me know what you all think or if you have any questions.

Thanks!!

Less then a day on PSN and the latest COD DLC is already at 9,600 ratings (rounding up) with an average of 4.80 (again rounding up). What happened to all of the generic rage and Activision taunting which occured on this blog and other places? I told you the sheeple would buy it in droves.

@Tjoeb123
Done with Square classics? There’s still many non-rpg classics we need. Bushido Blade, Tobal, Brave Fencer Mushashi…

@Kamino_3
Why not just buy Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection? For $30 (most likely less by now) you get around 40 or so Genesis games.

@196 Exactly…get the Sonic Collection…tons of old games, cheap, and for those concerned about trophies…it has them.

Still debating about whether to get Plus or not. If games like Costume Quest are offered monthly, then I’m in….but if OLD games, like Sonic i.e. We’ve played this (many) years ago..it is not something NEW….then count me out. If I want OLD games, I’ll buy old games…or likely have them long before now. There’s no value in that.

So maybe someone from Sony could sway my decision?!? Oh, noted in another comment on the blog that when you membership is up, all you’ve downloaded for free is no longer accessible? Doesn’t seem like it would be, but just want to be clear.

Thanks!
