We’ve tallied up the votes, slipped into our tuxedos, polished up the trophies and are finally ready to reveal the winners of the first-ever PlayStation Network Gamers’ Choice Awards.
First off, we want to thank all of the nominees for participating. All of the games that we showcased were the highest user-rated games released in 2010, so that is an honor in and of itself. Second, and most importantly, we want to thank all of you – the PlayStation Network community – for participating. We had a great turnout during the voting period which made for an intense competition. For instance, the battle for the Best PS3 Downloadable Game literally came down to the last day between Castle Crashers and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game.
As a reminder, the 20 nominated games competed in four categories – Best PS3 Downloadable Game, Best PSP Downloadable Game, Best PS3/PSP mini and Best PSN Exclusive Game. So, without further ado, the winners are…
Best PS3 Downloadable Game: Castle Crashers
Best PSP Downloadable Game: God of War: Ghost of Sparta
Best PS3/PSP mini: Age of Zombies
Best PlayStation Network Exclusive Game: Dead Nation
Of course, this isn’t the end of the awards ceremony! The celebration continues as the award-winning titles will be featured during the first week of our Spring Fever event, kicking off tomorrow, with the winning games discounted 30% in the PlayStation Store and available for a 50% discount to PlayStation Plus subscribers.
Thanks again for making our first-ever PlayStation Network Gamers’ Choice Awards fun and exciting. Enjoy the discounts on these great games!
“We really voted a game that’s been out since 2008 on Xbox Live as a “best of PSN”?”
This. I’ve never been on the castle crashers bandwagon, it’s really kind of a mindless boring game (even in coop). It would definitely be 5th out of the 5 choices listed there, just barely behind pacman.
Also, is Dead Nation worth $10.50? I wish there was a demo, PSN is garbage when it comes to demos.
@Spacerac
I don’t even want console God of War. Does that make me super crazy? :O
I kept looking at Dead Nation and Castle Crashers. So I’ll take this as a sign. My God of War: Gos just got sold and I kind of miss it so I might have to pick that up too.
I’m glad Castle Crashers won, since I was waiting for a price drop / discount :P and I already have Scott Pilgrim vs The World :D
Might get Dead Nation, will have to discuss with roomate, since we normaly split the cost :)
Uhh….Monsters (probably) stole my princess was clearly the best mini as age of zombies is a generic zombie game. The rest of the results are fine.
im so on that castle crasher when i get home.. :) .. i need help beatin dead nation on morbid.. grim was one thing, but with voice support i hope to beat it quicker.. any chances the coming game after spring fever for the next few weeks will hav some bonuses for ps+ ? ?
Sweet. Castle Crashers was one of the only ones I didn’t already own and wanted to buy. Thank you people for voting for it.
That’s a killer set of games, too bad I already bought dead nation… I’m so glad that Castle Crashers beat out Scott Pilgram. I’ve been waiting for it to go onsale for a few months. The wait is over!! lol
And I agree with 52. Monsters stole my princess shouldve won the mini category.
Next year, don’t make us download the same theme 4 times. Make the themes actually themes for each game. That was a huge part of the excitement for me and a huge letdown.
All the themes you have been able to download should be different… 1 per award category. I would love to see 1 per nominee though… Your comment is noted. :-)
