Hello dear readers, here’s your comic update with 62 cool new comics this week and a bonus treat for DC’s Bayou fans.
In Batman Black & White, DC proudly pays tribute to the past, recapturing the classic spirit of black & white comic book storytelling. Centered on the Dark Knight, this series features a stellar line-up of creators contributing 8-page stories to each issue in a rich variety of styles, tones and textures, all with an innate pulp fiction feel. Issue #1, featuring a cover by Jim Lee, includes the work of Jose Muñoz, Joe Kubert, Ted McKeever, Howard Chaykin, and Bruce Timm. I cannot recommend this stunning comic enough!
IDW’s brilliant Infestation series continues with Infestation: Transformers #2. Zombies are the latest show on the Vegas Strip, and it’s going to be an action-packed battle of machine and mayhem to get this town cleaned up!
Salutations, readers. My name is Jessica Chavez, and I have worked on such delights as Half-Minute Hero and Rune Factory: Frontier, and inserted something salacious about Pikkards into Ys I&II. I also toiled for months on the enormity that is The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, which hits the PSP on March 29, and I shall tell you about it today.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (also known affectionately as “TitS” thanks to the tender caress of the internet) is an RPG that was first released in 2004 for the PC. It gained fame and notoriety on the computer circuit by virtue of being both massive and the first 3D iteration of its kind within the Legend of Heroes series. Fast-forward to 2011 and you now have a PSP version crammed with all the original goodness, polished to a blinding sheen and accented with newly added battle voices. There’s also one crucial addition that is very relevant for you, the reader: those ~1.5 million characters of Japanese have since been put through the translation grinder. Trails in the Sky is ready for its Western debut.

The SOCOM franchise is no stranger to intense online competition, the sort of frantic rivalries that bring out plenty of gloating for the victors. Fans know that the series has catered to these sorts of moments with built-in victory dances, and the soldiers of SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs sure do know their way around the dance floor.
Available in online competitive matches, SOCOM 4′s victory dances are triggered by pressing the Circle button while standing over a fallen enemy. There are more than a dozen dances in the game.
Console gamers didn’t get the chance to experience the first Crysis, a shooter known for making PC gamers feel self-conscious about the power of their graphics cards. PlayStation 3 owners won’t be left out of the follow-up, as Crysis 2 arrives on PS3 next week.
Recently I spoke with Executive Producer Nathan Camarillo about those trademark Crytek visuals, and about the new multiplayer demo, which just hit PSN last night. Camarillo talked about 3D, addressed the quality of graphics on the PS3, and how Crysis 2 players need to break some old habits and start catching some air.

Hey everyone! I just wanted to give a shout out to Ed Boon and Netherrealm Studios for getting close to wrapping up Mortal Kombat! From what I have seen and played, I think everyone is going to be really happy once they get their hands on it.
I remember interviewing at PlayStation eight years ago and seeing Kratos in the very early stages of God of War 1 and thinking, “This guy looks like he was pulled straight from MK!” Which to me, was a good thing. One of the things that I always felt separated Mortal Kombat from other fighters was its character design. When you combine this with Kratos’ attitude and tendency for violence, it’s a match made in heaven!
Slam Bolt Scrappers is available today in the PlayStation Network store! YESSSSS!!! You can start scrapping right now with the full version for $14.99 or introduce yourself to this epic mash-up of brawling and building with the FREE DEMO. Let the celebratory slamming begin!
In Slam Bolt Scrappers (SBS to the cool kids) you race to combine colored blocks into squares of the same color. Build big colored squares and they form weapons that automatically attack your enemy’s tower. The player with the last tower standing wins! It sounds simple enough, but once you throw in jetpack fueled flight, punching baddies, stealing blocks, awesome power-ups of awesomeness, and fun button-mashing brawling you’ll quickly realize how gloriously chaotic our game can be.
