40 New Tracks for SingStar: Aerosmith, Gwen Stefani, Run DMC

+ Posted by David Thach

singstar-328

Hello Again! I’m back with another monster SingStore update. And just in time! With the rainy weekends we’ve had here and the spring breaks and vacations right around the corner, we could use some fresh new tunes to keep us entertained.

This Wednesday we’ll be adding another 40 tracks to the store, including hit songs from legendary artists like Aerosmith’s Cryin’; Tom Jones’ It’s Not Unusual; and Elton John’s Crocodile Rock. We’re also releasing even more great tracks from some of your favorite chart topping artists, including Gwen Stefani, Leona Lewis and the Pussycat Dolls.

And I think a couple of our new PlayStation Move dance add-ons are must buys. Check out Ms. Britney Spears’ version of I Love Rock N’ Roll, and hip-hop masters Run DMC with It’s Tricky. They’re guaranteed to get you up and dancing.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution: Directors Talk Development

+ Posted by Sid Shuman

Deus

“It was important for us to see Deus Ex: Human Revolution as a new IP. We wanted to re-imagine this world.”

Director Jean-Francois Dugas and Producer David Anfossi are unabashed fans of Deus Ex, the cyberpunk RPG-shooter hybrid that graced the PS2 in 2002 and won more than its fair share of Game of the Year awards. But when the pair signed on with Eidos Montreal to produce a new entry in the critically acclaimed series, they opted to introduce a new story set five years before the first game. “When you look at the endings of the other Deus Ex games, the future is looking pretty grim,” Director Dugas notes with a chuckle.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution depicts a world rocked by unbridled technological advancement, a world secretly ruled by shadowy cabals and monolithic corporations with questionable motives.

Dive Into the Moon Diver Launch Trailer, Coming 3/29

We showed the first video for Moon Diver at E3 last year. And, although all we had on the floor was a video, the response was overwhelming. People wanted to know when they would be able to get their hands on “that game that looks like Strider.” Well, that time is fast approaching, as Moon Diver is part of the PlayStation Network’s Spring Fever promotion.

Moon Diver puts you in the role of one of five elite warriors who have been given orders to reclaim the Earth after a horrible catastrophe. It’s a tough job, to be sure, which is why you don’t have to go it alone. Up to three friends can join you in either local or on-line coop as you hack, slash, jump, and slice your way to saving humanity. Working together, you’re stronger, and nowhere is that more evident than in the powerful combos called Moonsault Combinations that you and your friends can execute together. Sure, the enemies are really bad. And some are really big. But with a little hard work, and a lot of teamwork, you can succeed!

Dead Island: Trailers and Entrails

+ Posted by James Gallagher

PlayStation-Default

The top ten trending phrases on Twitter are an unpredictable mix of useless celebrities, #memes and eyewitness reports of breaking news, usually before it has been reported by traditional press outlets. Last month, the phrase ‘Dead Island‘ appeared and a click revealed it to be a game, and not a newly announced game, but one revealed some years ago and largely forgotten about. One stylish trailer later and it was one of the phrases on the tip of everyone’s Twit-tongue.

“The trailer we released was mostly a blessing,” says Vincent Kummer, Dead Island’s brand manager at Deep Silver, “because when you put something out there you don’t expect to generate that much interest in the game, especially not for free.”
