  • @ Ar4chNova89:

Red Faction Battlegrounds IS NOT FREE for PS PLUS USERS!

It is $9.99 for both standard or PS+ users of the PS3….

It is FREE however… IF you preorder the Red Faction Armegeddon that launches 5/31 in the USA through GameStop and one other place, I think maybe Best Buy. All you have to do is go slap $5 on it to hold the game at any Gamestop store (you can always change your mind and get a refund later or switch the $5 to another game) and Gamestop gives you a receipt with a code to download the Battlegrounds game for FREE.

It’s quite a fun little game actually, from what I’ve played of it so far!

    – Hope that helps.

  • WHOA, it was stated through multiple resources that Sonic 2; Streets of Rage 2; Altered Beast and Golden Axe II, were ALL supposed to have online CO-OP. i booted up Sonic 2 just now and see Local CO-OP, Local VS and Online Versus, were we misinformed on this situation????? I was really hoping to play with my friend in Sonic 2, and Streets of Rage 2 is BLEEDING to have online co-op. Can someone at sony clarify that possibly the online co-op has bugs or is still having kinks worked out and it IS coming in a post patch????

  • Great update actually, so many stuff i want to get

  • I think there should be also an avatar as a gift for donating money. I have gotten the new wallpaper and I think about that :D

  • Nothing here for me this week :(

You would think Avatars would be the easiest & most frequent item to put in the store on a weekly basis. Where r the AVATARS!!!….Kevin Butler Avatars would be nice. Make it happen please Grace

  • I’m not too excited for this week’s content, but the publishes can’t always be brilliant. So, instead, I’ll congratulate everybody for these early, timely updates. Well done!

  • finally socom 4 beta’s in the platstation store ready for download for the general public. that means everyone, L8TSS….

  • didn’t even know Stacking DLC was coming out this week, definitely getting it. nice to see the angry bird mini is cheaper as it was way over priced.

  • I’ll add to the chorus of people asking about Red Faction: Battlegrounds being free for PS+ users. In fact, I even had an email from Sony which mentioned it.
Was quite looking forward to it, too. Would have been a nice taster for the upcoming Red Faction game and movie (although, given the movie is being made by ‘SyFy’, I’m certain it’ll be utter rubbish!)

  • Baron_Von_Bonbon

Is it true that RDR pre-order bonuses (Deadly Assassing outfit, etc…) are being released as DLC this month (april 2011)?

  • pretty dull update.. but then again i still got my hands full with plenty of games that came out recently..

i thought battlegrounds was gonna be free to plus ppl.. so much for that..

guess people are still crying about having to pay $50 for plus.. i’ve gotten well over $50 worth of games in the first 6 months so it goes a long way..

  • Is there any chance in the future of an update that allows people to get a preview of the premium themes before you buy them? Just a simple screenshot of the full image with the changed icons would be great!

  • What about the LBP April Fools DLC? The LPB site says that was supposed to be out last week, but even now, it still isn’t out for US residents. Why? :(

  • Sonic The Hedgehog 2 FTW. My fingers are crossed in the hopes that I will also receive Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles.

  • Guardian of Light and more PS+ goodies.

    Good week.

  • @Fire_Crazed Don’t bother … you just can’t explain … nor do certain individuals understand that SNEA is no different than any other company . My ISP right now is running a promotion for people to subscribe , the rate is Significantly lower than what i currently pay . I guess i could throw a baby fit and yell in child like fashion ” it’s not fair ! ” . or i could understand that companies need to run COST EFFECTIVE promotions to create more revenue in the long run . because it’s a business … businesses need money and aren’t fualed by warm , fuzzy happiness and hugs .

  • 0_o it looks like lots…. but I’m literally only even looking at the Red Faction demo….

  • didn’t think the stacking dlc was coming out today, awesome!

  • Good, early update! Will be downloading Red Factions: Battlegrounds demo soon!

  • Nothing about the Killzone 3 avatars this week??. This blows, anyways update the avatars.

  • Where are the PSOne classics…? I heard Threads of Fate is one of the expected titles, and I’m expecting it soon! Please guys, release this as soon as possible…

And it would be great if Thousand Arms, Mega Man Legends 1 and 2, and Misadventures of Tron Bonne made it too! Please???

  • Sony should give free pass to buy one thing of your pick for free like Sony give way, do it only once every 3-5 years to show the sony fans how much there care about us fans sticking with them no matter what. :) I am sony fan sense my birth and now, i buy all there systems and i love them alot. But its only up to sony if there want to do that or not.

  • right now its kind of hard 4 me ot access PSN store as i keep getting signed out

SONY PLEASE FIND THAT HACKER THATS ATTACKING TO PSN MAKING ME GETTING SIGNED OUT

  • Where is lego star wars you promised about. I am still sad that i can’t play it still.

  • Dang looks like nothing for me this week. not even the free things on Ps+ look worth it.

I dont see why they suddenly just stop trying to get old psp games out on the psn. do you guys just not contract the devs anymore? i understand all the hard times it may bring but try to at least get some of the games us gamers want. i mean i have yet to see any decent games get uploaded on the psn. No Crisis Core, or the first Phantasy Star portable game. it just seems fishy why Square Enix can release Dissidia, or even their Ps1 classic, but leave out great games like Crisis Core or the psp version of Tactics (which by far is the best version), or Sega releasing the second Phantasy Star game, but not the first.

I know not every update can be the best, but i think the last decent update for the psp was when they had the sale on Monster Hunter and that was last year.

  • Red Faction Free? According to a site that isn’t an official playstation site. I read the past ps+ blogs and nothing ever mentioned red faction. sure, woulda been cool. Wonder where destructiod got the info.

  • WoundedUnderwear

Nothing that really grab me in this week. I do have to say very good work on updating the PSN really early.
And …….. I donated $10.00 each for those 2 new AID JAPAN THEME to help out my favorite country.

  • No Patapon 3 demo? :(

  • Nothing of interest for me this week. Oh well, guess it gives some time to work on my backlogged games, before starting new ones.

Sad to see that PS Rewards got canned. Had alot of friends that were looking forward to it going public.

    **PROUD PS+ MEMBER**

  • Spring Fever is kinda weak so far, this year.

Last year we had some great game selections, that great PixelJunk sale, a buggy but valiant effort at a PS Home incentive program… I mean.

I know they can’t all be winners, but this one like .. barely tried.

  • From the skimpy PS Store update, to Anon walking all over Sony, this hasn’t been a good week for PSN in general. At least Sonic 2 is free for us PS+ subscribers, but I’m weary about even playing it, seeing as how Sonic 1 was a sloppy port of the XBLA version. Sega FTL.

What’s with all the procrastination this gen, Sony? Why hold back on features and content you know everyone wants? At this rate, we’ll still barely have any notable PS Classics until around the time the PS4 is prepping for launch…

  • I also got an email saying I was getting Red Faction: Battlegrounds free today.. I think it actually came through my PSN account. Can somebody that works the blog get their crap together and clarify this for people please.

Downloading Stardrone right now. I hope it’s good cause I hate when games don’t have demos the same week. Sony needs to fix this. Sonic 2 is ok. Not excited for that. May pick up Lara Croft and Age of Booty for the cheaper prices but not sure yet.

  • ThreeLeggedFreak

No PS3 Classics, no PS1 Classics and no games really.

  • GRACE please answer this…

PSU.com has an article about the new KZ map pack releasing next week.
It says the map pack will be free for PSN Plus members for the first month of release.
Does that mean it’s free lifetime or just the duration of the membership?
I’m asking cause that’s what usually happens with PSN Plus members.

    http://www.psu.com/Killzone-3-gets-new-maps-tomorrow-in-Europe,-next-week-in-North-America–a011219-p0.php

  • Dont’ know if people saw the announcement today, or if they really care, but Rockband 3 (just the game) has gone done in price to $19.99.

And that’s even in Canada; I just picked it up at Best Buy.

  • Hmmm…..Neptunia DLC….maybe….
    Weak update =/
But well dun hurts since its the first weak update I get in 2…3 monthes

  • so is there a reason that the PSP PSN main page is still showing over month old content?

  • wasn’t the Red Faction game suppose to be included for PS+ people. Also, do we get the Killzone map pack for free like the EU PS+ subscribers?

  • You really spoiled us with those good updates, lol.
    Hope next week is better.
Thanks for the free games…I got Comet Crash for free instead of the mini listed, was that supposed to be?

  • Yay, more Sonic (said with the joy of watching the grass grow). Least it’s a “bonus” game although free isn’t enough to get me to download that visual graphical nightmare. At least have it updated to HD graphics. Two subpar PSN games for + this month. Two months in a row, I got garbage after seeing Stacking offered, which is what triggered my interest in PS+. On board too late it seems, and not one thing worth renewing my membership to keep yet. :( Don’t get me wrong, the additional sale savings make it worth it, but, just like I suspected, because I’m a + member, I’m in the store more….translating to downloading/$$ more. No membership would greatly slow me down, and frankly, would allow me to play the games I already have. :) So we’ll see what happens. Sony has 13 more months to make it up. :D

  • Wait, the FIRST add-on for Stacking? Does this indirectly confirm MORE? Can’t wait to play the Hobo King pack though. Gotta finish the main story first. Long live Tim Schafer!

  • As for the sales……

Hamsterball shall be downloaded. Always popped quarters into marble madness, and for $3.99, a good “gift” for my son for a great week of school. Yeah, its for me too. :D Maybe the SpongeBob theme for him, if it’s any good. Oh, and Angry Birds.

Been waiting on Age of Booty to be $5 since I saw it awhile ago. And, last I saw, all their map add ons were free. Win-win.

Other than that, nothing that on my ‘watch list’ is on sale. :( Though I may just pull the trigger on one of them (which means it’ll be on sale next week, lol) So many games since Xmas though (30+), I need to slow down so I can actually play! :D

Oh, btw, the preview for Uno hasn’t worked at anytime I’ve tried. Speaking of previews, all your PS3 games should have them. Makes purchasing said game a much easier decision….I generally won’t buy one without seeing it (and does not mean playing a demo instead). Show the goods to sell them! :)

  • I remember reading one of these updates and it said there was going to be Marvel Vs Capcom 3 avatars and im still waiting for that =P

  • Hello

whoever adds games for buying on Playstation Store can you please add Battlefield Bad Company 1 (ONE not two) for download

    please

  • I’m a Plus member, so I took Sonic 2, Duael Invaders, Qore and I purchased Hamsterball, I will still be waiting on StarDrone even though it’s only $4. I was wondering if Red Faction Battlegrounds was going to be free since I saw some articles on that subject, turns out it’s not, it was okay but I’m not paying for it – if I get it, it will be by pre-ordering Red Faction Armageddon. So, I also downloaded the Battlegrounds demo and took the Rush’n Attack demo for some reason, the game sucks. And finally, even though I have Stacking, I will not be taking the dlc, game was not for me.

The update was fine, I’m not going to complain.. much. Except answering people would be a great start.

  • Damn it, again no Castlevania Reverie:/
Anyone tried using US version of Reverie on EU game (or can send an message with the disc code so i can compare)?

  • I also stacked my PS+ member ship right after the cloud service released, doesn’t that count for the Red faction promotion?

  • Since it looks like no one is answering the question about the Red Faction: Battleground game and whether any/or all PS+ members get access, here is the info from the email I got on it:

“Buy and activate a 12-month subscription to PlayStation®Plus by March 25 and get Red Faction®: Battlegrounds™ FREE ($9.99 value) when it releases on April 5. The newest installment in this award-winning series is yours to keep forever.

    A 12-month subscription to PlayStation®Plus is only $49.99. That’s just over $4
a month* for access to free games, huge discounts and great exclusives.”

Looks like only new PS+ members were going to be able to get this one as a free download….

  • At first I thought StarDrone was using a PC trailer, until I read that it has Move support. Nice! A good update.
