We’ve been keeping a secret here at Zipper Interactive – a hush-hush special bonus that players who purchase new copies of SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs are entitled to the moment they first play the game.
We call it “SOCOM Pro,” and you’ll first see mention of it when you open a brand new copy of SOCOM 4 on the back of the instruction manual. On that SOCOM Pro call-out, you’ll find a redemption code for use on the PlayStation Network that gets you… well, it gets you a whole bunch of super-cool things, really.
SOCOM Pro shows its benefits immediately on launch day, April 19, as any player who purchases a new copy of SOCOM 4 receives exclusive access to all “Pro” Custom Game queues. Not only will these queues be ranked, but they’ll also be updated regularly over the entire lifespan of SOCOM 4 – so it’ll be the gift that keeps on giving for quite some time.
For the first bit of news, a new patch is coming out for BlazBlue: Continuum Shift on the PS3.
Version 1.03 will change the game balance to match the current version of BlazBlue found in the arcades of Japan. Whether your dream is to battle it out in Japan in their famous Super Battle Opera or just play with friends at home, be prepared to unleash all sorts of new combos and strategies after this update.
But that’s not all! Version 1.03 will make a new character available for purchase – the unbelievably cute Platinum the Trinity has finally made it to home consoles! Whether you enjoy throwing down with cutesy characters or fighting with a quirky, item-based style, Platinum will be available for unlock on PSN for $7.99!
Telltale Games is bringing the popular and critically acclaimed Puzzle Agent to PlayStation Network on April 19th!
You play as Nelson Tethers, the ONLY agent in the US Department of Puzzle Research. Tethers is sent on a rare field assignment to Scoggins, Minnesota to investigate what happened to the factory that supplies the White House with all its erasers. To get to the bottom of this twisted mystery, players will have to overcome plenty of warped brain-bending conundrums.
The game features cartoonist Graham Annable’s unique narrative and visual style combined with the cinematic storytelling style that Telltale has been establishing. The mood and setting are heavily inspired by an eclectic set of influences including Nordic folklore, David Lynch, and the Coen brothers with a dash of Stanley Kubrick. Oh, and gnomes.
First of all, LittleBigPlanet fans – a congratulations are in order. Thanks to all of you, we recently hit a very cool milestone – more than FOUR MILLION LittleBigPlanet levels (LBP1 & LBP2) have now been shared online by players around the world.
Four million – or to be exact, 4,141,742! To give you a sense of how big that number is, if you played LBP straight for 12 hours a day and only played each level for 5 minutes, it would take you more than 78 years to play through all of them. WOW!
Here’s a message of appreciation to all of you from the folks over at Media Molecule…
