I've been kinda wondering if I should get Red Dead Redemption and maybe La Noire sometime, since I have actually played GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA4 and enjoyed them all quite a bit.

One thing I've never liked about the games is the amount of religious expletives. Sometimes even when you're simply driving through traffic.

I started to watch one of the LA Noire trailers. The very first line has a religious expletive. I really think Rockstar should consider adding an option for language filters to their games in the future. No need to take it out, just have the option there. I would suggest the same for blood and gore, even though it doesn't bother me.

Another thing about the language that bothers me, is that I have been under the impression that the noire style dated back to.. well.. "Hollywood's classic film noire period is generally regarded as stretching from the early 1940s to the late 1950s." I know I haven't seen many noire films, but I doubt they were ever heavy on the religious expletives.

Oh well, regardless, it's your choice Rockstar Games. A little extra effort can go a long way. Until you start adding a language filter to your games, I won't be purchasing them anymore.

Was thinking about picking this up about a week ago (L.A. Noire), my friend said to wait as he was gonna pick it up the next day. Today I finally heard from him again. He had a 120GB slim, played this game after he played a few other games which worked normally. Froze it right up, he can't get it to turn back on, had to get a new psn id, only run into him due to a mutual friend inviting me to play il-2. to hell with this game I have an older 80GB system and don't have the sort of disposable income to go replacing it. Unless you do I would advise being very catious about it, personally I'm just not gonna risk it. Caveat Emptor

Ok, this is to all the people that have said their PS3 hasn't overheated so it must be because of dust and hot weather - Just because your PS3 or your friends' PS3 hasn't overheated doesn't mean there isn't a problem. And that doesn't make you an expert on what is overheating the PS3. Not every single PS3 is going to die from overheating. Rockstar, developers that are experts, have said they did several tests and found older model PS3s to have an overheating problem. I would post a link, but it would probably be moderated, so just do some googling to find Rockstar's original statement before they deleted it.

I have this same problem and reported it 5 days ago to technical support. Sony needs to address this, not just say it isn't the softwares fault but are working to find a solution. When am I going to get a response? People need to post if they are having this problem too!

@giovani-57 I feel offended that I'd rather buy a Honda or Toyota. What about European cars, Nissan, Hyundai and other American cars. If Ford makes a bad car doesn't make them obsolete right?
The Playstation is a really good console and so is the Xbox, but some times companies make bad decisions and speak before they know what's good for them.
----
If Sony had revived the store earlier instead of wasting time finding games that consumers wouldn't have bought again in the first place I would have been a lot more happy. (To be clear the games are good, but most people that want them have already bought them; you don't need 2 issues of the same thing.)
Also I think that the worst mistake Sony did was to say that they were going to give stuff away for free. Making people anticipate something much more awesome than they could actually give to the community.

I have the launch model of the PS3 as well and I never had any issues. though the menu sometimes freezes when trying to access ps store, I guess that will be fixed once it opens.
I have been playing the game almost non stop since May 19th and the game has never frozen on me unlike a lot of other games have. So statistically this is the most stable game I've played on my PS3.
I hope the downtime due today Is going to be about preparing the PS Store so I can download my preorder content. I really want another case as I've got nothing left to do now.
