MotorStorm Apocalypse: Multiplayer Q&A

With online multiplayer back in full swing, legions of MotorStorm Apocalypse owners are already enjoying this chaotic racer’s enhanced 16-player races. But not so long ago, we solicited your MotorStorm Apocalypse questions via Twitter and posed them to Evolution Studios Art Director Simon O’Brien to get the full story.

Jeff learned more about the artificial intelligence improvements, why a certain degree of “rubber-banding” is necessary for competitive races, how epic events mid-race can upset your carefully laid plans, and how MotorStorm Apocalypse takes its multiplayer cues from online shooters in the form of deeply customizable vehicles and races. O’Brien also details how players earn XP in the form of “Chips” that unlock new emblems, vehicle parts, and other customization options that affect your racing style — whether it’s sneaky and strategic or fiercely aggressive.

Have you tried MotorStorm Apocalypse online? What’s your favorite track and game mode so far? Let us know in the comments!

  • PorknBeans is my hero. That’s what I’ve been trying to say. Just a little information, not too much something besides “soon” and “we’ll keep you posted”

  • @34 If you havent yet heard the scope of the hack has caused various agencies to be involved. So yes the new security measures being placed by Sony are “top secret” and yes agencies like the FBI from different countries “are involved” So how about you calm down and let Sony do their work. They are trying to give you the best security possible and all you can do is whine and complain. the PSN store is where your monetary transactions take place. You definitely want that to be top notch security. THAT TAKES TIME. Japan has asked Sony to beef up security EVEN MORE. This has caused delays in the opening of the store. Trust me Sony wants your money so its not like they want the store to be down.

  • You, along with many others, Say “What about the rumors of the store coming the 24th” well they are just that… RUMORS. So take them with a grain of salt. It doesnt take a genius to know that rumors are just that… RUMORS. If there was something definitive Sony would mention it. You, and people like you, continuously spam the blog with “whens the store coming up??!!1” trying to find information that isnt there. You want to know the status? here it is: SONY IS CURRENTLY WORKING ON IT. Now stop acting like second graders and quit all your whining. Otherwise go take a nap, The adults are talking.

  • THIS GAME LOOKS WORTH GETTING, BOUT TIME THEY PUSH SOMETHING OUT DECENT….

  • All PlayStation Network customers can select two PS3 games from the following list. The games will be available for 30 days shortly after PlayStation Store is restored and can be kept forever.
    •Dead Nation
    •inFAMOUS
    •LittleBigPlanet
    •Super Stardust HD
    •Wipeout HD + Fury

Ok so i already bought all those games at full price when they released, check my account to be sure.

Guess it doesnt pay to spend your money on things you want when you want them.

I am a Plus member, and a loyal Qore subscriber since it launched, why does Sony keep giving me stuff i already bought at full price!!!!!!!!!!

Listen I like to buy stuff all the time,
-Just give me a discount on my next purchase and everyones happy. Or,
-Let me give my two free games to someone else, as I cant use two copies of the same game on one account. Or
-Give me back my money for these games that are now free. Or,
-Give me a discount on another PS3. Or
-Give me one free PS3 repair service. Or
-Anything that I can actually use.

    Thanks

  • Oh yeah and I was playing SOCOM 4 coop on my game pass, when the outage happened.
I got sick of the SP and went and got MSA. Played it until the end of the outage and a little bit online when PSN came back.

This game is really great and brought back all the intensity from the last two PS3 games.
The 3D was nice but not nearly as deep as i would have liked, and very little jumps out of the screen.

All in all this was a successful sequel, but doesnt do enough to seperate itself from MS:PR to warrent another purchase at full price. As the destructive scenes are nice, but lose the “Wow” factor after experiencing them a few times. Then all that is left is the new vehicles and they alone do not a sequel make.

If you do not own Motorstorm Pacific rift, this game is a must have. Especially if you have a 3D tv.

Me, I’ll be getting this game when it becomes a greatest hit.

    Cheers

  • freakin awesome I cant wait to get this game

  • mspr more fun then this

  • I want to buy MSA BUT, i will wait a little bit for more cars to come as DLC, MSA needs more vehicles!
