Just to revert to lower sound when ur actually trying to use it for real stuff in life Sorry that the rest of the world actually have other things then there PS that might need good sound quality And secondly your still speaking as if its real SS which its not its virtual if ima have surround sound on anything itll be the real deal and not some virtual software change and maybe a slight hardware upgrade HA

Now that’s what a headset. The bluetooth thing, while cool, isn’t comfortable in long stretches. This, awesome. Also I can use this while listening to music. I’ll be buying that this September.

@dhfhs2 this is only 7.1 virtual surround sound with stereo speakers. You need 4-5 speakers in each side of the headphones to get real 5.1 on sharkoons X-Tatic Digital and trittons ax pro for that work on the ps3 for now
Its not even blutooth. It takes a USB wireless adapter. For $99 I waht blutooth .

it cracks me up he comes in and comments me about my post yet doesnt even fully know or comprehend the fact that this isnt real SS and is just a small software and maybe a hardware change in some. The only reason i see this even being of quality is maybe the improvements on chat features which i doubt is that much better anyways. Id rather go for legit solid quality that people are willing to stand by and not somthing like this. Secondly do you even remember the crappy quality they offered on there official PS2 headsets they said was the best quality yet easily crapped out within only few mnths of usage. My ps2 headset wont even properly pick up sounds prior to ps3 releases and i had that set less then 4mnth and bought it brand new from stores.

Too bad about the USB dongle. Since Slim took out most of the USB ports it’s become an issue, particularly for those of us with Move. Maybe someday Sony will have another redesign with at least 1 USB port in the back for Move.
I dont have a slim but my PS only has 2 port which i already have filled with other things like my webcam controller charger or Move. Its kinda annoying having to take one off just to speak to people on a game. IMO im better off with my set i already have or use my home stereo for SS and my built in mic on webcam. Just more of a hassle for some slight virtual improvements If really any better quality comes from them (which i doubt is that extremely great)

So when is Firmware 3.70 coming out? I see on the Playstation website it says that “* Surround sound on the PS3™ requires system software version 3.70 or later. Surround Sound does not work with Blu-ray Disc movies”.
This clearly means there’s probably a 3.70 already.
how will they charge? via usb cable or something? also whats the play time/stand-by time? and how will you control the volume?

I’m pretty sure the PS3 can’t output HQ game-audio through bluetooth, hence the USB dongle. If bluetooth headsets could play ALL audio and not just voice chat, don’t you think Sony would have put that in their headset 2.0 that came out a while ago?

I find it ironic that this is reveiled cause i was just tinking about and browsing around online for some new stereo headphones, my freind had just gotten some Sexy, very stylish Tritton headphones so i was like man i need some after playing KZ3 with them on.

For all the ignorant people out there, sound quality does not carry over well with blue tooth. Stop asking for what is simply limited by data transfer rates.
If you go to the accessories page you’ll notice you’ll need your PS3 to have version 3.70, hopefully there will be some other surprises within that update not yet released.
why buy these headsets when ps4 is coming out unless it will work with ps4
