You’ve been requesting it, so for the first time, we’ll be broadcasting the entirety of the PlayStation press conference directly into this Blog. Additionally, we’re setting up a mini-studio in the PlayStation booth, and we’ll be bringing in developers while the show floor is open for interviews, live demos and to answer your questions via a built-in chat module. It all starts right here on June 6th.
UPDATE: We’ve got several hundred more entries than we’ve got spots open, so we’re cutting off the entries now. We’ll grade the papers over the next few days and contact winners by email. Thanks for entering!
Since this is an LA event, we’d still like to do something for some of our Southern California fans. Because our press conference is already at capacity, we unfortunately won’t be able to get anyone into building (again, everyone can watch the livestream right here). However, we were able to secure over one hundred 3-day passes to the E3 Expo, where attendees can visit our booth and go hands-on with NGP and our stellar PS3 lineup as a guest of PlayStation.
We want to make sure only the biggest local PlayStation fans get in, so instead of having folks queue up in the unpredictable Spring weather (as has been the case in past years), we’ve created a web quiz you can take from the comfort of [wherever you are sitting].
Here are a few things to note:
- E3 takes place from June 7-9th at the Los Angeles Convention Center, so you’ll obviously need to be in SoCal during that time to attend. Don’t bother taking the quiz if you won’t be there!
- You must be 18 or older to attend E3 – that’s their rule! Your ID will be checked when you go to pick up your badge, so if you’re under 18… don’t bother taking the quiz!
- E3 badges are non-transferable, so if you’re not sure if you’re going to be able to attend… don’t bother taking the quiz!
- The information we’re asking for (name & email address only) is required for all attendees by the ESA, who run the E3 Expo. We won’t ask for any additional info!
- We’ll grade quizzes and select winners by late next week, and contact winners via email with information on how to pick up your passes.

Seeing as how most of what’s going to be shown by Sony and MS have been common knowledge, I can’t say I’m anticipating anything other than release dates from either company.
Nintendo on the other hand is holding a deck of aces and will wipe the floor this year.
@151 There’s no reason to think the Store WILL be back up by the 7th either, especially after a month of unfulfilled vague promises. We’re 2 days out from the end of the month, and Sony STILL hasn’t said anything concrete about when it’ll be back. But hey, “it’ll be just a few more days” if it’s delayed, right?
I hope the Sony Press Conference is good and certainly better than last year’s. It’ll need to be.

I think what I’m gonna do from now on is only buy Exclusives for the ps3. If the game is out on both platforms, i’ll get it on 360 cause this is madness and annoying

Right now I’d just wish my grandfather would turn on the a/c so I could play some games on my PS3. It’s 98 degrees in my house and 89 degrees outside. And if any of you own the original fat PS3, then you know how much heat that thing puts out.

as for games i have been playing is LA Noire. Love this game. For some reason Gamestop sold me the pre-ordered edition so i have 2 free DLCs. I never pre-ordered it. Cant get them yet which is fine. I will get them a few days after the store is up
E3 is going to be very good. This nintendo won last year by a slim margin breaking sony 2 year reign or 3 peat.
Its going to be very hard this year with rumors of wii2. 3ds 3d g ames thats are coming out. I honestly dont know what xbox has in store this yr. I,m really thinking the rumors of handheld might be true. We will see
ALso if sony annouce a prie drop and show npg and some exclusvie games. they could win it agn. They really need to promote playstaion home and take it out of beta. that would blow the socks of the gaming world.
Im really looking forwards to seeing more about the jounery game sn and new ico game also . I want more ps3 mmo titles. More ps moves games. and real huge push of indy ps3 games for psn..

well i cant knock the 360 cause i bought one when they first came out and 2 weeks later i got the 3 rings of death and took it back for my money. my nephew has a 360 kinnect bundle. kinnect was cool for him for 2 days and he got tired of it. the 360 works great though.

@176 The reasons I got my PS3 back at the end of 2007 was that it had WIFI, free online play and God of War 3 exclusive. Even if I had the money to pay for an Xbox360 and Xbox Live, I doubt I would.

@ 168 yes ico is great franchise. we need original games for ps3 stop all the overly violent games..Ps3 should introduce games that pull the player into a gaming world not just let the player tap a few buttons and it over. Back in the ps2 era the games quality was better and stories where written better. Becuase they wanted you to become a fan of the franchise not just of the game. Now it like ..its just for a game sale and patched later down the road. They dont try to build a franchise or a fan base that whats to par to fo that games world.
The not gaming to me.. this why rockstar games make alot money they give the gamesr the whole game right at release they try to make you become one of their franchise fans and pull you in a world thats fun. LOok at La noire. RDR, gtheft auto series.. I know the journey game is the next big thing..
I hope ico blow the socks off every one at e3.. becuase it deserve to launched with the ps3 console. that right is long over due.. I love to see a flower 2, savage moon 2.. We need gmaes to brong ga,mer back ina franchise mold not one game and done.

Thanks for updating us on the maintenance this morning, it’s not like I sent a customer report that I’m sure be answered.
Also I hope you are prepared for a storm of PO’ed Sony customers during the middle of the week, because at this rate the Store is most likely still going to be “Under Maintenance”, so Just be prepared Sony.

@ 189. u can se it on ps3 if come here login from your pse3 console. u might not login here . But u can watch though. Its not hard to do> i have read the blog forums plenty of time via ps3 console and watched video as well when they put them up to preview a gam.
So i dont see why they cant for E3.
