This press release just hit the wire – PlayStation Store and related services (like voucher redemption) back this week:
SONY AND SONY COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCE FULL RESTORATION OF PLAYSTATION®NETWORK SERVICES
Tokyo, May 31, 2011 – Sony Corporation and Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) announced today that Sony Network Entertainment International (SNEI, the company) will fully restore all PlayStation®Network services in the Americas, Europe/PAL territories and Asia, excluding Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea by the end of this week. The company will also resume Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity™ for PlayStation®3 (PS3®), PSP® (PlayStation®Portable), VAIO and other PCs. Details for Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea as well as the remaining services on Qriocity will be announced as they become available.
The company implemented considerable security enhancements to the network infrastructure, as well as conducted testing of the payment process and commerce functions. The first phase of PlayStation Network and Qriocity restoration began on May 15 in the Americas and Europe/PAL territories, followed by Japan and Asian countries and regions on May 28, when the company brought partial services back online. With this partial restoration users were able to access to some of the services such as online game play, account management, friend lists and chat functionality were restored. The full restoration of PlayStation Network as well as part of services to become available on Qriocity will include:
• Full functionality on PlayStation®Store
• In-game commerce
• Ability to redeem vouchers and codes
• Full functionality on Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity for PS3, PSP, VAIO and
other PCs
• Full functionality on Media GoCustomers will be able to purchase and download games and video content from the PlayStation®Store on PS3 or PSP. In addition, consumers will have full access to Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity through PS3, PSP, VAIO and other PC’s. Service restoration of Video on Demand powered by Qriocity™ and Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity for a variety of network-enabled Sony devices will be announced later.
“We have been conducting additional testing and further security verification of our commerce functions in order to bring the PlayStation Network completely back online so that our fans can again enjoy the first class entertainment experience they have come to love,” said Kazuo Hirai, Executive Deputy President, Sony Corporation. “We appreciate the patience and support shown during this time.”
The company will be offering customers a “Welcome Back” package of services and premium content to all registered PlayStation Network* and Qriocity account services. The details of this program will continue to be detailed regionally.
* Only available for those countries with access to PlayStation®Store.
We will update the PlayStation Blog when the PlayStation Store is once again open for business.
Holy cow they changed the blog! and the proof is in my comment #46. I copy and pasted they quote, from the blog. Now it says:

Store’s really coming back tomorrow? Press released got leaked too early, and you had to change that line? Maintenance tomorrow means store up?
Sony your restoration dates are way to vague.. I mean come on already.. I guess though if you can’t even keep a vague time frame an exact one would be totally impossable for you to keep wouldn’t it

LulzSec, which had previously hacked Sony BMG’s Japanese website (according to Forbes) has promised more attacks against Sony & claimed that this is the beginning of the end for Sony.
LulzSec tweeted: We’re working on another Sony operation. We’ve condensed all our excited tweets into this one: this is the beginning of the end for Sony.
Update 2: I was reading further in the tweets of LulzSec n I found that they are planning to begin Phase 1 within the next day: (Sony + Ownage) Phase 1 will begin within the next day. We may have a pre-game show for you folks though. Stay tuned.
So this means they are apparently working on another operation against Sony. Well, I am not sure whether this is the same group behind the PSN hack but I really do hope Sony will take every security measure possible to protect its fame and it’s users.”

Your argument is exactly the reason they don’t talk much about specific dates.
Look at the previous posts and you will see a lot of people asking for them. In fact, they are even arguing about speculations made by Kotaku, Destructoid, GameInformer, etc.
Don’t give ETA’s if you can’t deliver. First it was “PSN will have partial functionality by the end of next week” and 3 weeks later, it finally came back on. Now it was ‘PS Store will be up by the end of the month” Now it’s by the end of the week. What’s next? You’ll inform us that it won’t be up until NEXT week? Way to go.

Hey, great news. At least I’ll get in some inFAMOUS beta before the game comes out. Hopefully they extend it past the launch date, but that would be weird.
by the end of the week? i’m kind of disappointed. i thought it was going to be back today or tomorrow but i have to stop getting bored and reading third party websites and just stick to this one. this will all be over soon and in the past. i still have my $20 PSN card and i can’t wait to spend it!!!
even the guy at target was all weirded out that i was buying a PSN card. he didn’t even know the network was working XD

So no longer May 31st but quite possibly June 3rd? Well, at least it’ll be back and thats what counts. But it better not go down for almost a month anymore.
Yay, just when i get on to check if the may 31st date is a go or not… ANOTHER WEEK!!! I’m starting to think that the 120 bucks of psn cards I have sitting here might do me better as bonfire kindling. Im excited to have some new news as to when the store may or may not be up again but I’ve been burned too many times in the last month or so to actually get excited about it. I’ll still stay by your side Sony but you’ve got some serious explaining to do to your fans when this is all over.

46 days of working around the clock and…..ooops, no, almost…….Wow, what a surprise, another 11th hour another announcement from Sony that there is a delay restoring the network. Why does this seem so familiar I wonder……….? I guess they JUST figured out that they couldn’t make their previous deadline, yeah that’s believable, right? I wonder if there are any people that are disappointed with this lack of communication? Nah, Sony is the best, yay Sony.
