  • I imagine some serious laggyness or other issues with the bombardment to the store when it goes live. I hope they faze it regionally so that when you try to get in it won’t have to say ” please try again later ” or something. . .

  • no i just see that it is wrong to load up your system with all the games u need without purchace i work for my stuff and when i see some one hacking and downloading games for free when i paid 60 dollars i get pissed

  • @SEAL_TEAM_7p you sure?us and canada didnt get the psn fully back up untill 3 am at the 15th of may.yep 3 am,the middle of the night.

  • @midknight24 I wouldn’t be surprised if the whole thing is up before E3 and then goes down DURING E3…lulz

  • @NinjaNabs Did you have a question RoodyPoo? Or are you just going to be immature?

  • @poopymcG

Yeah some folks and I were thinking yesterday about some of the old classic games being rebooted for the PS3, not bashing PS3

  • yes 3am is 20 hours away from 11pm but i think it was like 1030 here in cali

  • Considering how many people on here are yelling about the free stuff, it wouldn’t suprise me, As far as crashing during E3, I believe if their system isn’t as “UP” as they say everyone trying to watch E3 is gonna get PISSED

  • @poopymcg ok what about the card reader and its beyond me why they took out two usb ports but the damn thing takes 6 controllers external hd intercooler bogus move to save cost

  • @anonymouse84 stop being paranoid bro.just dont generalize when you make a statement.i am well aware of what sony went through.their way to handle the situation was poor or at least the way their pr handled it.they neglect their users and their company.welcome to sony.

  • god i wanted this message to pop up for a while. GO sony, make haste, for thou hast nearly lost us in dispair XD

  • @Radar427 Hey man…you seem like a smart individual. Just do what I’m doing and switch to PC, it’s an expensive move initially but after that the sky is the limit!

  • @NinjaNabs I am not being paranoid; I was asking you what your question was…I suppose you do not have one.

  • switch to pc for all 10 games

  • @SEAL_TEAM_7p because cali was one of the first states to get the psn back on.im talking about psn being back up for all the states and canada too,it was 3 am eastern time.and where did you get that 20 hours from?

  • NE, then Cali…

  • Seriously debating it i have hotz’s software so im setting up one of the ps3s for offline play 500 gig hd should be able to rip the games THAT I OWN AND CAN MAKE BACKUP COPIES OF and fill er up

  • 3am +20 hours is 11:00pm they were 20 hours early

  • Yes it is taking a long time…but do you want them to bring the store online and get hacked again?

Enhancing security is not as easy as flipping a switch. The security hardening requires significant new systems which typically takes months to order, install and configure. It also requires significant changes to processes, additional staff that need to be hired and trained and extensive penetration testing.

Sony management can be blamed for not investing in sufficient security protection from the start which is the case for many companies. They got hacked and could not respond. Give them the time they need to get it right so they can respond to the next attack. You can bet they will be a target again shortly.

Sony IT guys, thanks for the effort in getting things up and running again as quickly as you are doing.

  • Haha SEAL_TEAM_7p… the system I am building will be able to emulate anything you throw at it friend. Or do you not have a handle on that concept?

People are just so gullible…so, so gullible.

Your PS3 IS A COMPUTER GENIUS! SO IS THE 360! THEY ARE CHEAP, CRAPPY COMPUTERS THAT YOU HAVE ZERO CONTROL OVER!

Mull that over for a while…and yes, I can emulate SOCOM friend.

  • I thought the restoration started in maine

  • @jablplay They’ll get hacked again no matter what I am sure, no security is that good.

  • @Radar427, yes… NE=Northeast USA

  • @SEAL_TEAM_7p plz tell me your not that dumb ;/ .im gonna hit my head on the wall for you.some states in the us got the psn back on at 10 pm-11 pm on the 14th of may.then by 3 am at the 15th of may,all the states including canada got the psn back on.ITS ONLY 4-5 HOURS OF DIFFERENCE.but still its in the middle of the night.dont expect the ps store to be back on in the middle of the day or the beginning of the night.there are so many different time zones,i dont think sony will take too much attention to the time.but i sure hope they do get it up before E3 or FACEPALM for them.

  • @anonymouse i guess people who know nothing about software or computing will never know the capabilities of thier system, it is a junk poor poor computer with small amount of ram it is beyond me why they havent upgraded the rsx yet. probably making too much off ylod repairs. i can fix most problems with ps3 for Not $150 more to sony

  • Agreed. No security system is 100%. But I would rather make it harder for the bad guys! If they just put the network back up as it was a month ago, it would get hacked in a week. At least with the proper investment they have a fighting chance to keep it clean for a while.

  • @ninjanabs absoulutly correct started east coast i watched the map till one am no wisconsin, was on in the morning

  • @jablplay if the psn or ps store ever get hacked again,im selling or destroying my ps3 and never buying a sony console again in my life.

  • it will get hacked again whoever did it is good at what they do

  • @sealteam no they were 3 weeks late

  • @radar427 but why dont they go after xbox/microsoft?sony got enough on their hands.at this point, sony got hacked 4 times including the jailbreak.march 2009 and march 2010 i believe and april 2011 that we all know.also they got jailbreaked but thats another issue i guess.

  • Let me just say this…..Sony your soooooo lucky to have a fan base that you still have right now due to the lack of brains you folks have. Your word isnt worth a dime to any of the fan base bc you guys cant stick to what you say. Next its gonna be the beginning of the week or ooops not free stuff for all the troubles bc sony cant afford it! YOU ppl need to get your heads out ur [DELETED] and learn how to update and be honest with your fans/customers!

    THanks Sony,

    Not an admirer

  • if im wrong about march 2009,tell me.im not 100% positive about that.

  • Ok i’m here and i see no new changes lol So how is the peeps doing this morning? I got my Folgers and PS3 controller in hand lol

  • It’s cat and mouse. Good guys build better defenses, bad guys find holes. But a properly designed security architecture and response capability limits the impact of a hack. Sony probably had some huge holes without the ability to monitor and respond to an attack. I just hope they are taking the time to do enough because you are right, the hackers are good.

  • @1833 i got my ps3 controller on my hand and pretty disappointed about the psn being laggy on black ops this morning 10:55 am eastern time.lol…

  • My guess is u can still to this day play copied games on xbox and microsoft didnt go after the people doing it, the thing is we all have the right to make backup copies of all our media, and if the backups dont work then sony is just taking that right from us, i think if i pa $60 for a game i should be able to make a backup

  • jabplay or or radar427 or anyone can you tell me all the different dates that the psn got hacked?i believe it was in march 2011,april 2011,march 2010.maybe march 2009?can anyone who knows the dates exactly tell me when?im trying to build a report and maybe calculate when the next attack would happen.but for that,i need accurate information on when and what.

  • I am unsure of the exact dates from 09 or earlier than this big one

  • Sorry Ninja…not sure. But let me know your prediction!

  • @NinjaNabs…Same time here..i’m in Indianapolis..BlOps is always laggy cause it sucks lol I bought it just for the trophies and to get at least 1st Prestige during the 5 day double xp weekend then i traded it for L.A. Noire :)

  • Later fellas time to lag all over these old maps seeing i cant get the new ones……………..

  • @radar427 sony doesnt want people to make money off the ps3 or the games.for example, geohotz could have made a ps3 of his own and sold it.if sony didnt go after him,he could have gone beyond just making a jailbreaking software.he could have gone as far as making his very own ps3 with the ps3 he had.i think thats what sony was affraid of,thats why they sued him.

  • @1837 how can you predict a hack? No offense but it seems to me hackers would try for random dates to throw people off. That or post fake messages to put people off guard.

  • besides time is only a theory and happens only as you perceive it so i had no time offline because that is how i perceived it

  • i have a 40gb beast with a 250 gb hdd replacement and the reason they don’t up the rsx because it is meant for games #1 not computer stuff anymore

  • meh! .. let’s hope they’r right about it :S

  • nice!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Where did all of you people come from??? we the outage was going on no one cared about the store, they just wanted to get back online… now people are making empty threats to sony again. Load of BS.

As frustrated as I am with Sony at the moment, I’m still scratching my head at this one. Yes, I suspect Sony could have done more to prevent this crime, but somehow this still strikes me as a “blame-the-victim” stance; I’m a thousand times more angry with the hacker(s) than I am with Sony.
