Challenge of the Week #13 is an AL East Rivalry. The Red Sox power first baseman goes up against the Rays stellar left-hander. Climb the leaderboard and get as many hits as you can to win a $250 Gift Card from MLB.com!

Week #13 begins on Monday, May 30th at 5:30am Pacific Time and ends Monday, June 6th at 4:30am Pacific Time.

Challenge of the Week 13

To play, simply select the “Challenge of the Week” option in the main menu.

This is a huge week, as it kicks off the first week to participate for the June Monthly prize period. The June monthly prize is $2000, cold hard cash for the winner. Every four weeks a monthly prize will be awarded to the player with the most Challenge of the Week points. This week also starts Grand Prize 2! Weekly scores will also be added from May 30th until September 18th 4:30am Pacific Time for a chance to win Grand Prize #2, a Trip for Two to a 2011 World Series Game!

  • To be honest, I don’t see why Sony doesn’t put up a new blog every day, even if it said –

    Customers are curious – they want to use the store and they want to get their entertainment via Sony, which means more profit for Sony. Just let us know something every day – this is great, but doesn’t affect as many as the store.

  • And just by the way Sony, I admire the way you’ve handled this entire press-nightmare after the hack. I’ve been a loyal Playstation fan since the PS1, and just recently bought a PSP to go with my PS3. Is there any chance you good people working on the Store could tell us if there’s any chance it really will be up by tomorrow? I know, I know, you guys are working around the clock… But there should be a way to tell if you’re far enough along to finish within 24 hours. Either way, good job with this whole thing.

    1. if you where sony and had 75 million people waitting and have to update the store 1 month items in 10 days

    with people 24/7 working at sony and no rest how will you cope

    2. if you need EVREY SONY WORKER to fix this problem yet get them to make new posts to update people how will you fix evreything

    1. If I were sony and had 75 million customers I’d want to be sure they were happy and knew how much the business they gave me was appreciated. I’d do that by telling them, and filling them in on the status of a very in-demand service that I offer that is currently unavailable.

    2. How does all of sony’s marketing and PR play into the technical work going on with the PS store? Why can’t one employee spend half an hour every day gathering some basic facts and give info to curious consumers? How is it that noone in the company can take the time and address – “yes, we do know what’s going on and we’re happy to fill you in”.

    I know they’re going through a lot, but they’re a business, and if the customers are so boisterously asking for an update (I mean just look at the posts in these blogs…) why is Sony not taking the time to put up a small little update? Not asking for much, just a nice bit of information.

    I appreciate the history of the Playstation suite of consoles, but don’t sweat it – I grew up playing Duck Hunt on the NES, I realize that online stores are fairly new for gaming. Which is why this is the time to be creating the precedents for how customers and game companies interact with one another. Let’s say PSN goes down in the future – do all customers really want months of silence again? I can’t speak for anyone but myself, but I don’t want that. I’ll stand by thoughts that Sony would be wiser to make small, frequent, courtesy posts to customers rather than treat consumers with silence, because I’ve seen a lot of frustrated posters responding to the outage, many of which are just asking for an update.
    And, I do believe that was an estimated – working for date. But I’m not sure, because the wording wasn’t particularly clear, which is why I personally want another round of information! That, and I don’t want this to be a precedent for how game companies interact with consumers with network and store outages!

  • See thats just it. None of us are getting the answers we need, or want. The folks that are trying to be adults and at least ask for their questions to be answered are being met with ignorance. People saying that they don’t care when its up and that they are hardcore gamers. Well, if your such hardcore gamers where are you finding the time to read blogs and post threats and everything else about people who don’t want information. I feel since this affects 77+ million users shouldn’t it be a matter of Public Records? I’m tired of people raising actual intellectual questions only to be met with People saying “shut your damn mouth” If you are taking people asking questions about products they have PAID for so personally who is really the crybabies? Just face it SONY IS TRYING TO DELAY TELLING US IT WON’T BE UP WHEN THEY PREVIOUSLY SAID IT WOULD AND THEIR ARMY OF SCROTUM JOCKEYS just will not let anyone have an intelligent conversation or debate.

    If all you’re focused on is the personal award you can claim from this unfortunate circumstance, I don’t support you one bit. Yeah, I might be up for some compensation, but I know that Sony’s already talked about that, and I realize that by the time they roll it out I probably won’t be able to participate. But you know, that’s how things go. You’re just out here yelling your own head off to get some free stuff, a lot of us questioning Sony just want some info about when we can access the service again. It’s the only way I can get games for my PSP Go after all.

    I’m not saying you don’t have the right to ask, but how about taking the high road and being civil about it? Last thing we need to do is paint ourselves as an enemy.

    3.) Do something about it instead of spamming a post,
    4.) There’s this thing called a caps lock, maybe you’ve heard of it?,
    5.) If you’ve had your credit and identity stolen, I take it you didn’t take advantage of the free ID protection,
    6.) If you had it stolen from before it was offered, take it to court, don’t waste our time,
    7.) And finally: Guess what? People’s credit and identity aren’t just stolen because of Sony. Maybe you should keep a better eye on where you use your credit card.

  • Thing is, any time Sony gave an update prior to the Network coming back up, and gave answers like, “We hope to have it up by this time” or “We expect to have it by this time,” then if it wasn’t up, everyone screamed “LIARS!” when in fact, they were trying to give us a time frame based on what they knew at the moment. Of course, things come up as you try to get things going, and unexpected delays can happen. Anyone who has worked on any type of project should be able to relate, and this was a pretty massive one with plenty of room for things to go wrong.

    It’s like saying, “I’ll try to be by your house in an hour” and exactly an hour later, getting a scathing phone call: “You promised and you LIED!” There was never a promise, but it’s met with delusional (and very immature) hostility.

    So, with the behavior exhibited by people in the past, why in the world would they encourage more of it by offering possible time frames? They’ve already said by the end of the month, which is tomorrow, and people are going to whine right up to the final hour!

  • Only saying that if you can find any false-charges on your credit card that aren’t yours, take it to either Sony or court or wherever you can get recompense. I’m pretty sure that there’s no one of high enough authority reading this blog who can just call you up or deposit cash into your bank account/checking account.
