Fact: Everyone loves ninjas. They’re officially better than pirates, pizza and, uh…porcupines. We here at PTOM Towers aren’t immune to the considerable charm of the mighty ninja, which is why we have the ultimate stealth assassin, Ninja Gaiden 3’s Ryu Hayabusa, gracing the cover of our August issue.
This isn’t just another chapter in Ryu’s saga. This one, we discovered after journeying to Japan to meet with the team and play the game, is different. This time, we are meant to feel what it’s like to be a deadly assassin, to truly understand what it means to be a cold-blooded killer. Don’t worry, though: This ain’t a new-age Ninja Gaiden who’s all touchy-feely now. It’s still the same hardcore action game we adore. It’s just that every cut Ryu makes is deeper; every action he takes is stronger.
We are working hard here at Insomniac HQ, putting the finishing touches on Resistance 3 in time for our September 6th release date. We were happy with all of our fantastic comments on the first video in our Dev Diary series in co-operation with the PlayStation Blog, which focused on environments and storyline. Many of you immediately asked “when is the next one coming?” I’m happy to answer that the latest video is now available! It focuses on Resistance 3’s vicious new Chimeran enemies and the significant artificial intelligence improvements we’re making, including enhanced group tactics.
We hope to continue to bring these to you every couple of weeks as we head up to Resistance 3’s September 6th launch. If you haven’t already, head to your favorite game retailer and pre-order your copy of Resistance 3 — you won’t want to miss out on these unique bonus items.
Today is the big day as we’re releasing an official preview video for our upcoming PSN game Time Machine: Rogue Pilot, and you awesome people who read the PlayStation.Blog have a great opportunity to be the first ones to watch it! The video reveals some gameplay details and is supposed to help you get some better understanding of what our game actually is and what it looks like.
But a new video is not enough, is it? That’s why I’ll reveal some more details and cover two big questions with this blog post: what this game is and what it is not.
Time Machine: Rogue Pilot is a Match3/hidden-object game with a number of innovative features, including unique mechanics of repainting tiles instead of replacing them with each other.

Hi there! I’m here to introduce our newest game, Gatling Gears, which is available on PSN right now! Gatling Gears is an intense twin-stick shooter in which you control a heavily armed mech. We call them “walkers” and they’re a very iconic part of Mistbound, the world you will travel through in Gatling Gears. As veteran walker pilot Max Brawley, you’re going to have to put an end to the Empire’s destructive campaign for Mistbound’s valuable resources.
To do that, you will have to master the two basic principles of walker operation: shooting and dodging. You’ll be flooded with waves and waves of enemies, so using your weapons effectively is key to your survival. The Gatling gun is useful against weaker enemies, but has a limited range. A cannon shell does more damage, but is harder to aim. Grenades can be carefully targeted and do a lot of damage, but will take a while to reach their target. If things get out of hand (and they will!) detonating your Spark Bomb will send an electrified shock wave across the entire screen.
