E3 is upon us and Dylan, myself and a number of the LightBox team members are all in Los Angeles and excited to be showing off Starhawk in the PlayStation booth. Up until now we’ve given you a small taste of gameplay, touched on our Build & Battle system, and shown you a snippet of multiplayer action from a tourney we did at LightBox—now it’s time to get fancy. Our E3 2011 trailer formally introduces you to the exciting new world that is the Starhawk universe, including our main character, hired gunslinger Emmett Graves.
As you can see, Emmett must navigate through a brutal playground of large-scale combat where the tide of battle turns all the time, whether you’re on land or in the air (YES there will be dogfighting in SPACE!). And with Build & Battle, you have the ability to alter this battlefield how you see fit by calling down base structures, weaponry, or reinforcements with just the touch of a button.

If you only knew how many times producers hear those words it would honestly amaze you. We hear them all the time and we have to try our best to get excited about the words that follow that phrase. When we (Sony San Diego Studios and Idol Minds) stopped building PAIN expansions those words were music to my ears… Okay, what’s next?
When I started working in games 20 years ago, I worked as an RPG designer/tester. So when we decided to make a social action-role-playing game you KNOW I was on board. When the decision was made to make it a PS Vita product I got even more excited. Even among the nerds here in San Diego Studios I am branded nerdy. So making a game based in fantasy is right where I want to be. RUIN (Working Title) will be that fast-paced action-RPG that I have wanted to build since I first played old-school action-RPGs.
I’m excited to share a great bit of news that I know many of you have been eagerly awaiting! The ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection will be hitting stores starting September 27th, 2011 for $39.99 (MSRP). Featuring two of the most beloved video games of all time from famed visionary Fumito Ueda and his talented team of developers, this collection is a must-have for gamers.
ICO and Shadow of the Colossus have never looked or sounded this good. Both games have been re-mastered to support full 1080p HD resolution for a stunning, razor-sharp presentation, as well as full stereoscopic 3D support to bring the games to life in a brand new dimension.
We are extremely pleased to bring our two God of War titles – God of War: Chains of Olympus and God of War: Ghost of Sparta – to PS3 with the God of War: Origins Collection! The move to HD has allowed us to show off the visual fidelity that these games offer in a whole new way. Both titles went through an in-depth re-mastering process to make them shine like never before. One of the features we’re truly excited about is the addition of stereoscopic 3D. Both games look truly awesome with this functionality and the amount of depth in the scenes, the layering and parallax of the backdrops, and the dynamic camera motion throughout really pays off when experienced in all of its 3D splendor. To give you a taste of what this compilation is offering, here’s a look at our first trailer…
This collection will also support DualShock controllers so every impact and every bone-crushing moment can now be felt in your hands.

Well, it’s finally here… Launch day!
Two-plus years, eighty thousand individual checkins of art and code, countless hours of testing, and it all builds towards today! At long last we turn over the keys to you all. It’s your game now… Whether you’re someone who plays the game on easy and wants to see how the endings differ, or a borderline crazy completionist who needs to get every last blast shard and every last XP possible. Or maybe you want to contribute your own pages to the story and create some missions for the whole community (including us at Sucker Punch!) to play and enjoy…
Whichever you are, it’s your game now. We hope you enjoy the game a bunch, and look forward to hearing from you all about your inFAMOUS 2 experience!

Earlier tonight we released an optional system software update (v3.65) for PlayStation 3. This new firmware improves the operating stability of some PS3 format software, and changes the XMB item SaveData Utility (minis) to [SaveData Utility(minis/PSP)].
Again, this update is optional, and can be downloaded by selecting System Update from the Setting column of the XMB.
Jeremy here live from E3. Last night at our press conference in LA, we revealed Medieval Moves: Deadmund’s Quest, a brand new game title for PlayStation Move from Zindagi Games and San Diego Studio, the same team that brought you the best selling Move title, Sports Champions. So you know you can expect best in breed motion controls with an emphasis on fun gameplay. Medieval Moves is the first action adventure game that uses a unique set of motion controls to seamlessly transition between throwing stars, sword fighting and archery for an intuitive and immersive gameplay experience.
The story behind Medieval Moves involves the evil Sorcerer Morgrimm who has invaded Prince Edmund’s Castle and plots to take over the kingdom, raising an army of skeletons from beyond. While trying to stop Morgrimm, our hero, Prince Edmund is also turned into a skeleton!
