Tales From Space: About a Blob Co-op DLC

Greetings once again, opaque and bipedal earthlings! It’s been awhile since I, Orange Blob, have been in touch. You may remember me from my PSN game Tales from Space: About a Blob, where I grew and consumed your world and all its inhabitants.

I’ve been away recently, you see, visiting a strange and unusual planet in a not-too-distant solar system. I was accompanied by my good friend Green Blob. It’s nice to travel with friends, although Green Blob sometimes snores.

Exploring an alien planet is not for the faint of heart. Throughout our adventures, we were often confronted by tricky alien contraptions that required BOTH of us to get past. All this puzzle solving leaves a Blob feeling pretty hungry. Luckily, we were able to sample some local delicacies, i.e. the alien life-forms. They taste exactly like chicken.

Once again, the folks over at DrinkBox Studios have been kind enough to re-create our adventures in video-game form. If you have a friend nearby, toss them a controller and see if you can put your brains together to solve these wacky alien puzzles!

The new Co-operative Map Pack for Tales From Space: About a Blob contains two new levels which require two local players to complete. The pack will be available for download on PSN in North America on July 5th for $1.49.

Great price point on the DLC, might be about time to pick this one up! It always looked fun, and I think it’s one my wife would enjoy playing with me. Separate point: the art direction is fantastic!

I was wondering is there any chance that Tales from Space might come out on the Vita? I think it would be a perfect fit for that system.

Yeah.. I still need to buy this game. Was hoping for a sale but I might just impulse buy it soon. DLC is very appropriately priced.

OMG I love this game so much. It has been on my top 5 PSN list for some time, and I have been begging for some DLC so this just made my day. My son and I can’t wait to co-op together. Hope you guys do more than 2 levels because if you do I will buy them!

Note:
For anyone on the fence about this game I highly recommend it. Game is great to play and very accessible for anyone of any age. My 3yr son and I play it together all the time. I purchased it for me after playing the demo and loving it and its tight controls. He noticed me playing one day and asked to try. So I let him… he sat down and tried it out. Took him about a week to master the controls. From their we played it every day a million times a day he could not get enough until we found all the blobs and mastered every level. We love it, and I know whoever has a little interest in it will love it!

To celebrate this new co-op release, you should put the game on sale! Ya know, cuz I’m cheap and stuff.

Although there are only two new levels, I guess the cheap cheap price makes up for it :) I bought this awhile back but never got into it and then sat down one day recently with my sister and played through all the levels, and we had a blast! I still think more innovative game modes that promote replay value could be invented for this game, but they probably oughta save that for the sequel (which I really hope is made).
