  • Yay! Scott Pilgrim and Back to the Future! just bought four months of ps plus, and I’m already loving it. 50% off. YES!!!

  • AWESOME!!!! Only have two games on this list! Good bye to some of my paycheck…………..

  • What about X-Men? I

I would jump on Scott Pilgrim Vs The World but it doesn’t have multiplayer unfortunately.

I haven’t seen X-Men drop price yet but if it would i’d jump on it. Love the old school games.

  • @memphisheat
Yes! Its awesome to pay to get the same discount % everybody got last year!

  • SolidusSquirrel

Niiiiice, I’ve been waiting for a Scott Pilgrim sale!

  • karate_chop_fuey

PSN Pass is garbage, not buying any game that uses it.

  • I’m going to buy “Back to the Future”. Even if it’s not very good I can listen to Christopher Lloyd talk. Been thinkin g about it for awhile and now the thinking is over.
I’m on free trial version of PLUS and maybe I’ll even sign up for good. If I don’t because I pay for it, I can still keep the games I pay for if I don’t re-up for Plus. I don’t know how it works for free games.
Bye! I’ve got a car to catch.

  • theXsilentXchild

First I am excited that Back to the Future is on sale for $10 bucks. I will be picking that up. Wish there were more psn exclusives. I might pick up pixeljunk shooter 2.

Second… Online passes. I think these are a joke. They say its so the developers can make more money on the game but that seems like bs. In this time in gaming everything is online. If they want to make more money on it make some add ons and map packs instead. Dont charge me an extra $10 bucks because i dont buy your game new. I rarely buy new games. I have gamefly and blockbuster express so i can play more games for my money. I buy a lot of used games as well. I wanna know how many people are really paying for the online passes anyway!

  • Sweet now I”m going to enjoy some Pixeljunk until I get my hands on that Borderlands bundle.

Pixeljunk I still love that name its both cute and naughty.

  • I already have all games I want from this list….wait wait…aha!…Hard Corps….nice at least one I should buy =)

  • Sony is really trying to make me broke.

  • Well looks like I’ll be picking up 5 games that I don’t have yet. Sweet deal Sony.

  • Somehow, and I’m not sure how as I peruse this site daily, I have never heard of or read about Swarm. Regardless, thanks for the sale; even though my extra cash this month will be going to the awesome PlayStation Plus users special offer of Borderlands + 4 DLC for $14.99 on 07/19.

  • Awesome, had been waiting for a sale on Back to the Future :D

  • try putting out some good games sony :/

  • sweet…now do this for psp

  • @155

If you want to enjoy the perks of the Playstation Plus then just sign up for it. That’s the beauty of the whole thing, it’s OPTIONAL. I for one am very happy to take advantage of the 50% off. I certainly hope that you enjoy your 30% off as well. Also, for those of us who pay for the Playstation Plus, we should get better deals. That’s the whole point of choosing to upgrade.

  • @lbpmagician — Your BTTF wait ended a few days earlier with Steam’s Sale.

@Sony Corp. – Once again, a day late and a dollar short. I would have gotten BTTF off PSN if Steam’s sale didn’t beat you to the punch. More so a bummer that I’m on my 30 days of free plus.

  • The psn pass is only killing the ps3, thanks to this brilliant idea we won’t find users playing online.
My neighbor has a ps3, he borrows games from me and I do too, so now to play a game that I’m only gonna be playing at least 1 week I’ll have to pay $20 dollars (and my neighbor too). That’s just ridiculous!!!

I hope more users understand what the psn pass is all about, because I’m 100% sure that my case is not the only one. Sony PSN pass will just fail!!!

  • is there a reason why PSN is down right now?

  • Awesome to see Scott Pilgrim on the sale. i already have the game, and glad that people can get it on sale.

Would be nice to have a psp sale, but considering the lack of psp content on the psn store i doubt we will see one since we all know Sony “LOVES” to support the psp…. Sarcasm if you didnt notice.

  • “off topic” Re-make Soul Reaver !!!! for ps3

  • Is there going to be another summer sale after this one? Also im happy contra is finally a good price cant wait.

  • @a7x_RoCk3r
All right your selling your PS3 that means less cry babies woot!!!

  • @ASILENTENIGMA
“Also, for those of us who pay for the Playstation Plus, we should get better deals.”
You’re not getting better deals. You’re paying to get the *same* deals you previously got without PS+. I linked to the 2010 Summer Sale PS Blog a page or so back. It was 50% off for *everybody*. “Better deals” would entail them giving PS+’rs 51% and higher off.

Summer Sale 2008: 50% off each game.
    – /2008/07/24/playstation-store-update-44/
Summer Sale 2009: 50% off each game (sans Wipeout HD).
    – /2009/07/16/playstation-store-update-94/
Summer Sale 2010: 50% off each game.
    – 2010/08/02/playstation-network-summer-sale-fat-princess-pixeljunk-chinatown-wars-and-more/
Summer Sale 2011: 50% off each game if you purchased that discount.

    Keep on drinking that kool-aid…

  • @176

Oh my mistake. I guess it still must be 2008, 2009, or 2010. The world isn’t static, everything changes. You can’t expect to get the same deal as you had before, you should put down the kool-aid yourself. It doesn’t matter what happenned in 2008, 2009, or 2010. Right now it’s 2011 and there’s this thing called Playstation Plus. Right now the deal is 30% for the regular users and 50% for Plus users. Let’s see which is the better deal, 50% off or 30% off???? Deal with it, it’s not that hard of a concept to understand.

I’m not paying just for the deals. I’m paying for EVERYTHING that’s included with Playstation Plus, which just so happens to include extra deals. Again, if you are that unhappy just sign up for Playstation Plus. People who complain about not being able to take advantage of something that is an offering tied to an upgraded service, is just hilarious. But then again, Sony could just open the doors to the Playstation store without any worries, right? The last thing a company needs to worry about is making money, right? Let’s just give everything away for free, right?

  • I think I might pass on this sale, I have too many games already to deal with that I have purchased from the store that I haven’t played yet.

  • @ASILENTENIGMA
“Right now it’s 2011 and there’s this thing called Playstation Plus.”
    PS+ existed in 2010.
“People who complain about not being able to take advantage of something that is an offering tied to an upgraded service, is just hilarious.”
I’m not complaining. I was merely pointing out that you are not getting better deals. You’re merely getting the same deals you got before. Though this time around it is at a price.

  • I’m down for Pac-Man.

  • Wow. Megamixer never ceases to be the biggest troll on the blog. Oh noes! I’m getting a discount, lets cry about it! Hey dude you forgot the count for Summer Sale. Here I’ll help you.

    PS3 Legacy: 0
    PSP Legacy: 0
    PS1 Legacy: 0

    Keeping the streak alive.

  • @JesseGr
I’m not getting any discount period. My PS3 is dead for the third time in four years. My PSP and PSP Go still work, but for some reason they decided to snub PSP in this years summer sale. By the way, my PS+ trial is still active throughout the length of this sale so I would be getting the full discount if, you know, I still had a functioning PS3. Or better yet if Sony had a PSN web store!

  • Some good deals..might pick up chime

  • Well, I guess I have to ask you, what are you doing with your PS3 that you had to replace it 3 times? I doubt you got 3 factory duds in a row. Are you playing 20+ hrs straight a day? Or running folding@home 24/7.

I’ve owned every Playstation model and never had to replace one of them.

  • NOO QUINCHO NOOO!! u have to save you money for journey… resist the temptation!!

  • @JesseGr
Well, I do have 89 PS3 games (28 retail, 47 PSN, 16 PSOne) so I have certainly put the system through its paces. On my original PS3 I did run folding@home a number of times but its only been ran maybe three times on my current dead console. Rarely do I ever have the system on 20 hours a day, whether it be gaming, watching videos, listening to music, being in HOME, or simply idling on the XMB. 10~14 hours a day would be a closer estimate though much of that tme is often idling.

Much like 360s, launch 20/60 gb PS3s are destined to die due to a design defect. MS was taken to town over this situation while Sony gets a pass since considerably fewer people bought those early systems making the situation seem less abnormal. Yet even throughout 3 system deaths (and much more, really I could go on…) I sit here willing to partake in this summer sale and get me some Pac-Man love. That is, if I’m not charged to replace my PS3 yet again. If not then… rest easy. You’ll be seeing a lot less of me around these parts (and that doesn’t mean I’m going to up and buy a 360. No thank you! I’ll make due with my handhelds). :)

  • very nice looks like i’m getting pac-mac. Been waiting on that one since i played the demo very nice! Thinking about hard corps but don’t know really don’t like buying games that i have never played. On a side note, hope to see more psn update like this one coming 7/12. Has been kind of slow last month or so. But these look like some nice deals on some good games. tys

  • Are we ever going to get Parasite Eve II? It’s been more than 3 months since it was supposed to be put on PSN.

  • Dayum… BTTF for $10? Yes, please.

  • LOL, Of course the publisher doesn’t acknowledge my statement. You can’t hide from the truth

  • off topic:since mostly everyone is pised off about the psn pass we should get cross game voice chat or an other cool feature so we so we can cool down bcuz i think this was a bad move even though i prefer buying new games

  • hey weres my avatar???

  • I agree with most on how PSN passes are can be a pain to deal with and I will most definitely not buy any PSN pass related game (except for PSP games), but I would at least consider the PSN pass if it allowed a CONSOLE to be “passed” just like a downloaded game can be played by any individual on a system its downloaded on, because after all only one person can be online with a given system at the same time (unless there is split screen and even then there is usually multi-account split screen, but Uncharted 3 has it right) so the servers will only have to work as if one user uses the code. Come on Playstation at least do this if you want to be fair.

    @megamixer

Just go to Amazon.com they have the equivalent of a PSN web store or download MediaGo which has the PSN Store you would find in a PS3.(though I hate that you can’t just download the PSN Store instead of the entire media program)

  • What is the hell about the PSN pass? If my PS3 broke or I have multiple PS3, it means all my disc does not work.

  • @TheGrimHeaper
It was worth the full $20 for me (though I may not ever get to experience the fifth episode) and at $10 you really can’t go wrong!

    @Chuck57841
Amazon doesn’t know or verify if you have PS+ therefor it will only have the 30% discount applied. I have Media Go but it features only things from the PSP store. Nothing for PS3 can be viewed or purchased from it. :( Plus I really shouldn’t be thinking about buying a game for a console I may no longer have. :|

  • I thought I would bring it to your attention that there is an issue with the PlayStation Network connect on the GameBattles website. I get an error message saying site maintenence from SoNy. Just letting you guys know.

  • @megamixer dude everytime i see you post on the blog you seem real negative and just harsh on Sony. I’m not saying im a fan boy and that everything they do is great but you always seem to beat them down. if you dont like the system or the company why support their product.

  • Ahhhhhhh!!!! DAMMIT! !!! and I just bought Chime Super Deluxe last week! ! >_< Eff My Life! !!!!

  • YESS !!! Swarm is finally on sale

  • Since this PSN Pass rumor has hijacked this blog, I have a question:

How does the system know the game disc is new or used? Do you have to register your ID & put in some 12 digit code when you go multiplayer? I always buy new but never do multiplayer. I have played online, such as Demon Souls & all the Dragon Age but I never had to enter a code.

I have another question: Surely you’ve all noticed the plethora of generic avatars the last few days. Like mine. Something is blocking our avatars on the blog only. Anybody know why & how we can fix?
