PSN to Invest $20 Million in Exclusive Game Portfolio

We continually strive to make PlayStation Network the most innovative console game and entertainment service and that’s why we’re thrilled to announce a three-year, $20 million dollar investment plan to develop PSN exclusive games. Our line of PSN exclusives has had great success with titles such as Joe Danger, Critter Crunch, Flower and the PixelJunk series, and we’re excited to add new and different game experiences to this portfolio of games that can’t be found on any other game console. This investment includes support across both our own network of first-party studios as well as for the Pub Fund, which was first introduced at GDC in 2009.

Okabu

So what does this mean for you as a gamer? It means more unique, fun, innovative, edgy and higher quality game experiences on PSN that you won’t find anywhere else! We are excited for the upcoming PSN exclusive titles that are part of this three-year plan, including Eufloria, Okabu, and Papo & Yo, which recently received several accolades at E3, including Best Puzzle Game by both IGN and GamePro. Under this investment, we’re committed to delivering titles that have innovative gameplay mechanics, vibrant visuals, interesting storylines and an artistic element to interactive entertainment that can only be found on PlayStation Network.

Papo & Yo

you rite bro everytime i want to buy on psn I filter through this crap and still cant find a good game except maybe shank but what do u do when you beat a game like that huh? indie titles lack playback…I dont care about what the xtards have or dont have I just want quality games like the ones that made ps2 a great console. these dopes wont listen to me but someone will….rite?
P.S. the reason shank was the balls was because EA teamed up with the indie company… If more companies did this and had ppl like EA’s stamp of aproval on the game Im more suseptable 2 buy

  • @Stang86Driver
I didnt even read ur post and your hip to what im saying

  • Well I’m all for this, but please make the game work and very unique.

  • a good idea would be to get some ps2 games on the store

  • You know what I would love to see? A Rogue Galaxy sequel. That game was so good.

  • @95 from what i understand sony does not have such a program, and will sue you if you try to “dev” on their system without their approval. I know a while back some “hackers” tried to petition sony and get a homebrew dev kinda thing going like microsoft has but i don’t think anything ever came of it. Like i have said before, correct me if I am wrong anybody.

  • Sony thank you.You make all your best to make comfort for PS-players.Good news that even PSN has super exclusives not only discs :D

  • Sony 20 mil. for new exclusives is well and good, but can you please let us know when the *old exclusive* (and all round top PSN game Crash Commando will be made free (as you indicated prior to PSN downtime days)?

You got sweets you ain’t even munched on yet, and you’re givin’ out 20 mil?

    ;)

  • Oh how I want Bionic Commando 2 (I played 1st and it’s cool)…IT will be cool if Sony will continue making original exclusive games for PSN…Something like FAT Princess and Papo & Yo :D

  • This is awesome news.. I actually think most of the PSN exclusive titles are are among my favorite games of this generation.. like Joe Danger, Pixel Junk Series, & Gravity Crash

  • is great to hear that there will be more amazing games added to the psn. having unique games that spoke to a wide audience has always been what seperates sony from the rest of the pack, and i definatly applaud them for it, keep the great games coming, and if it isn’t to big a favor to ask, add in just a few more tg16 or even a few duo games to the store, bonk, neutopia, and bomberman were just a small taste of a great game catalog for a system that got overlooked. y’s book i&ii, gate of thunder, or anthing from working designs would be amazing. :)
