As the temperatures rise, here are a few great reasons to stay inside to catch great movies and television shows!

Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean) lends his voice to an awkward chameleon lost in the Mojave Desert in Rango, now available in New Releases. After stopping an outlaw dead in his tracks, Rango is named sheriff of the town, tackling more bandits in his new job. This animated twist on westerns also features the talents of Isla Fisher (Wedding Crashers), Abigail Breslin (Zombieland), Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2), Bill Nighy (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows), Ray Winstone (The Departed) and Timothy Olyphant (Live Free or Die Hard).

Insidious, The Lincoln Lawyer and Sucker Punch top the movie charts in Top Downloads. Plus, you’ll also find some of the hottest TV shows today, including Futurama, White Collar, Warehouse 13 and Teen Wolf.

The Movies section welcomes the hilarious Russell Brand in Arthur. This remake of the Dudley Moore classic follows Brand as a man child who faces being cut off from his hundreds of millions of dollars in inheritance if he fails to wed. Helen Mirren (Red), Jennifer Garner (Alias), Nick Nolte (Tropic Thunder) and Greta Gerwig (The House of the Devil) join in the fun. Purchase to own the film in HD and receive 18 minutes of digitally exclusive bonus content you won’t find on Blu-ray or DVD.

$0.99 Movie Rents continues this week in Rent Now. For only $0.99 in SD and $1.99 in HD, choose from 19 titles this week, including Darren Aronofsky’s directorial debut with the psycho-thriller Pi and Employee of the Month starring Jessica Simpson and Dane Cook.

Season 7 of Entourage hits the store in TV Shows. Catch all 10 episodes of this exciting season that sees Vince’s life start to spiral out of control. You can find all 7 seasons here to get ready for the launch of the 8th and final season of this great HBO series later this year.

The new Syfy show Alphas is off to a fast start. You can download the pilot episode for free now through July 27th. Follow a group of five with superhuman abilities who solve crimes and administer justice. The cast includes David Strathaim (The Bourne Ultimatum) and Laura Mennell (Watchmen).

There are even more laughs as Beat the Heat with Savings continues in the U.S. this week with great comedy films in Collections & Sales. The selection of 10 titles in SD for only $4.99 includes Burn After Reading, Bring It On and Brewster’s Millions starring Richard Pryor and John Candy.

The Deal of the Week highlights some amazing Documentaries. Great titles like Freakonomics, An Inconvenient Truth and Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room are available to you in SD at incredibly low prices. With more than 30 titles to choose from in the U.S. and Canada, there is something for everyone.

Tracy Jordan once said, “Live every week like it’s Shark Week.” Well, Shark Week is just around the corner. Be sure to head over to the Games Store to get the awesome Shark Week Dynamic Theme and transform your PlayStation 3 into shark infested waters.

Wander on over to find great titles like these this week in store…

after all these years sony finally brought over some $99 cent movies. the selection is poor but at least it’s a start. i saw about five movies that i will rent from Sony psn, which are also at the redbox. but you need to look at the rebox and at least put most of those here on psn store. i would without hesitation rent from psn versus redbox (at only $99 cent) if sony can provide us with this lovely low price.
You see Sony, you have just won a video customer because of this and now the fight has begun lol.
All sony has to do is keep those movies comming in weekly (99) and you will see business grow even more.

Grace, make sure you pass this on to Sony :)

Hay Grace; I don’t mean to sound off topic, but can you tell me if the outage affected the ability to share are ideas on blog share. I don’t mean to insult you guys, but it has been over a month and none of my ideas have been posted. I have submitted dozens of ideas none of them are duplicates of other ideas and I have even asked on blog.share if the outage affected are ideas and got no answer.

Grace, I really enjoyed the documentary, Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop. 8 bucks is very steep for a rental, but it was great.

@ “arcticjim” Don’t know if your going to read this, but the reason Amazon has December 31st on some items is because December 31, is a placeholder date. A placeholder date is when they DO NOT YET have a release date, but still enter a date for their system. If you would like to check go to any item that has an unannounced release date and you will always see December 31 as a date.

Once the release date is confirmed, Amazon updates their site to reflect the change.
