Scribble Shooter Comes to PlayStation Home + Weekly Update

Boasting addictive top-down, shoot ‘em up action and an incredibly unique art style (hand-drawn by one of the developer’s 12 year old sons), Scribble Shooter received accolades on the 2011 E3 show floor from the likes of IGN and left players that visited the virtual E3 booth in PlayStation Home begging for more. This Thursday, July 21st, Scribble Shooter will finally be released into the ever-evolving world of PlayStation Home and we’re inviting YOU to come get your hands on this game and see what the buzz is all about. Visit PlayStation Home’s Central Plaza to play the first level of this awesome retro-style arcade game. Then pick up the full game as an arcade cabinet for your PlayStation Home personal space and defeat each level’s boss to unlock special rewards. It’s one of the most fun casual games you’ll play all year and it’s only available in PlayStation Home.

Lockwood Publishing releases their new line of Delirious Squid items this Thursday, July 21st. From rapping squids to bears in dresses and girls with tentacly faces – nothing is too bizarre for Lockwood’s latest clothing line. Also available this week from Lockwood are four new companions: Bunsen and Spike are two hard-rockin’ lizards who get their kicks head banging to loud music and swishing their tails to smashing guitars while Al Cabone and Mr. Ska Bones are more mellow fellows, shambling around with a spring in their skeletal step. Check out this video for a sneak peek at the new Delirious Squid content, available this Thursday from the Sodium store in the PlayStation Home Mall.

Also available this week from the PlayStation Home Mall: Lifeguard outfits (courtesy of Lockwood Publishing), tons of Billabong clothing items for the guys and the gals, an assortment of MyDeco furniture, and even a Cole McGrath costume from inFAMOUS 2!

This Friday, July 22nd, we will be hosting a special “Game with the Devs” event with the makers of F3AR. Head to PlayStation Home’s Gamer’s Lounge between 3:00pm and 5:00pm PT (6:00pm and 8:00pm ET) to meet the Day 1 team (just look for the following PSN IDs: FEAR3DevAndyK, FEAR3DevBrad, FEAR3DevBrianM, FEAR3DevBrianL, FEAR3DevZach, FEAR3DevTJ, FEAR3D3evDeadFred, FEAR3DevLeo, FEAR3DevAnthony).

The PlayStation Home Community Theater will be updated this Thursday with a ton of new, exclusive videos. First up, LittleBigPodcast returns with a video showcasing the three final finalists of their LBP2 level-creation contest. Next, Gamer Indepth takes a look at Scribble Shooter and introduces the Who’s Who of Home. Finally, Platinum’d releases episode 7 where D-Edge and BZBee’s epic final battle draws closer and Jess reveals a secret of her own.

      The cabinet will be $6.99. Couple of things to keep in mind about Scribble Shooter:

      1.) The arcade cabinet not an active item, which means you can place more than 2 in any personal space.

      2.) Each level unlocks a reward, for a total of 10 items. And these rewards are awesome, featuring the same art from the game in some very creative applications.

      3.) The first level is free to play in Central Plaza (which will be decorated in the Scribble Shooter style) and will unlock a reward as well.

      We’re still aiming for the 28th for AC. There’s a chance that it may slip to 08.04 but we are doing everything we can to get it out the door for next week’s publish.

      A public space version of Winter Villa is being created so that the entire community can take a tour of it and then, if they decide, purchase the personal space version directly from the public space. We’re trying to get that out next week as well.

    COME ON!! HOME games like Scribble Shooter needs TROPHIES!!! Why is is so hard for Sony to do this? We are well in HOMES beta, and I remember when HOME was 1st announce there was going to be a trophy room. At least makes the arcade games like Scribble Shooter with TROPHIES. Once that happens, I not only will use HOME more, but I will buy the games!

    @14 Why do Home games need trophies? They’re something to lure you to Home and keep you entertained. No one ever promised Home would allow you to earn trophies therefore they don’t “need” them.

    LAST WEEK I BOUGHT THE 3 DANCING BRIMSTONE DANCERS AND WHAT WAS MY SURPRISE, ONLY 2 CAN BE PUT AT ONCE, WHY ? BECAUSE SOMEONE`S BRIGHT IDEA OF HAVING A LIMIT OF 2 ACTIVE ITEMS .     I need you to storm up to the head office & demand exactly 48 more of these non active item game cabinets. Get loud, right on the edge of crazy. Throw koosh balls @ m.f. heads. Really throw your weight around!

    It’s summer time & I should really be outside, but Home & the PSN releases are making it a challenge.

    I forgot about Home! I haven’t been there in a year. Everytime i try to go on it always takes to long to load things. Home is the longest running beta that ive seen my whole life, its a good idea but needs improvements!

      If you’ve not been in for a year, then you need to get back in now! So much has changed in such a short period of time. Load times have certainly improved and we’ve released tons of games, items, and events over the course of the last year…

    Are you suuure Scribble Shooter is a casual game? Scrolling shooters usually become quite tough as you progress. You generally have earned your Gamer’s Badge if you can beat something like Gradius.

      Touche! SS is definitely challenging, but it’s one of those games you can pick up and play for just a few moments if you wish, hence my deeming it a “casual” game. I honestly think any gamer will find SS to be a blast, regardless of your preferred genre.

    “Stream working now. low quality, test’s are (almost) hard to see. and sound are low.
    and sometime…freeze the livestream. that’s really bad. if you can control livestream tool and re-start. then it will be easy! also i’m having a ‘stuck on download media’ bug. why did you just update home for 1.5X (or 1.XX) just for livestream tool?
    and also switch Ustream to LiveStream, PlayStation Blog, Loot or Youtube Live machine thing.
    and didn’t fit in the video screen sometime like last time that E3 SCEA Booth was showing but Screen move a little up.

    Im very happy that they create a public version of the Winter Villa. I hope in the future they do the same whit all Personal Places. Is better and fair to the community. So no more freebies to certain program (favorites) yay! Good One Locust you may me very happy man thanks a lot ;)

    @12 Maybe he intended to make his name purposely like that sometimes you get people swapping around the “e” in a name for a #3 to re-present that position in the name. So he might have made his name such Developer but instead D3v3loper or short for D3v as you seen. FEAR3D3vDeadFred might be the actual online ID. By the way Locust_Star or GlassWalls can we expect them SingStar outfits anytime soon please? Especially you’re false advertising on the boards inside the actual public space of SingStar with that saying that they’re out now but when you try going in all you get is “Download Scene Error” other than that I think you guys do amazing jobs keep up the good content.     I tried the sampler of Scribble Shooter that was available in the virtual E3 booth, and I must say I was impressed! It’s got a charming art style, and the shoot-em-up foundation is solid as well.

    Scribble Shooters was easily the coolest thing about the Virtual E3 booth. Totally made clicking on those advertisements and leaving the room while they played to unlock the upstaires area worth it.

    Pretty decent update, scribble shooter will be fun. The Lockwood items here are kind of just “meh”. I’m very much looking toward the Casino, and the Winter Villa apt. tour. =D

    Hey Locust, any word on any type progress in getting the Waterfall Terrace space fixed yet, it has been a couple of weeks since you last updated us & it’s been going on 6 Months since I started my thread in the Home Support forum regarding “Waterfall Terrace space Bugged again”.     Am I the only one that is disappointed that HOME does nothing for Comic Con….. I can’t Imagine it would be to hard to sell Disney/ Marvel on the idea of putting content into Home. UK got Iron-man and Wolverine Claws we have got not one piece anything tied into Marvel. I really was hoping the combination of Comic Con and the Captain America movie would have made a Cap costume available or at least the shield. Come on and get a deal done and take my money.

    well , thanks to greed my new scribble shooter is worthless to me . i had intended to put it in my clubhouses so members could play it and get some cool prizes . am very disappointed ! if you do not OWN the game you can’t play past 1st level . that is possibly the most pathetic thing i have seen on Home yet ! in the future you might mention things like that in the ads .

    GlassWalls, Locust_Star: What has happened to the quality of weekly updates as of late.

    UFC mini game problems plagued and riddled both private and public spaces with server errors.

    Now owners of scribble shooter game have trouble loading the game as the loading progress bar doesn’t move, meanwhile cabin boy, conspiracy and trigger-happy-in-a-box arcade games load up fine for both owners and guests no problem.

    Also owners of the scribble shooter can load and play the full game fine in cp.

    Also store items going missing after purchasing issues again. This happened with veemee furniture items a few weeks back and now it’s happening again as I have received several messages from friends with the same issue.

    What happened to quality testing? In my opinion it seems lacking and this needs to stop. You delayed brimstone dancers back on June 16th citing “q&a issues” which required further testing.

    Yet the updates as of late don’t seem have any testing performed or lack there of.

    Please stop the degradation of quality of weekly updates and bring it back to the level that we home lovers have come to expect and deserve and enjoy. Thanks in advance
