The first thing that comes to mind when most people think of Ratchet & Clank (aside from Qwark’s dashing good-looks and unflappable courage) is the incredible arsenal of weaponry. The Insomniac Games team has always prided themselves on delivering out-of-this-world weaponry that gives you all kinds of wacky ways to turn your enemies into space dust. In honor of that long lineage of weaponry, we’re kicking off our gameplay video series with four videos highlighting the weapons you’ll find in Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One.
July just flew by with amazing deals on movies and television shows. And this week we’ve got even more to top it all off!
This week, New Releases b rings the intense drama Trust, starring Clive Owen (Children of Men), Catherine Keener (The 40-Year Old Virgin), Viola Davis (Knight & Day) and Noah Emmerich (Super 8). Owen’s daughter falls victim to a cyber-predator and he becomes determined to track down the man responsible for her suffering.
Limitless, Take Me Home Tonight and Dylan Dog: Dead of the Night have climbed the movies charts in Top Downloads. Over in top TV, you’ll find all the episodes of season 5 of Showtime’s hit series Dexter where you can get geared up for the new season of slicing and dicing coming later this year.
Annihilation — the third pack of DLC maps for Call of Duty: Black Ops – comes to the PlayStation 3 late tonight after 2am Pacific Time. The DLC offers four new multiplayer arenas and a new jungle-based Zombies survival experience in Shangri-Li. In celebration of the big release, developer Treyarch has deemed that the double XP will flow all weekend long. I’ll be hosting a gameplay session this Friday night to soak some of that up myself, and my favorite game type is Domination. Truth be told, I’m not that good a shot, so objective-based modes like this one let me help the team and keep leveing up even if I’m nowhere near the top of the K/D ratios.

Formally announced at PlayStation’s E3 2011 press conference, the upcoming PlayStation Move Pack for LittleBigPlanet 2 will greatly expand the game’s already prodigious creation suite and add countless new gameplay variants. Based on my hands-on time, PlayStation Move support radically evolves the gameplay possibilities of LittleBigPlanet 2, whether it’s flinging and manipulating objects using the new Brain Crane power-up, creating outlandish Move-focused minigames from scratch, or animating characters and props by recording your PlayStation Move gestures.
“It’s the biggest update we’ve ever done,” Media Molecule’s Level Design Lead Kengo Kurimoto told me during a guided tour of the update last week in New York City.
Hey, PlayStation Bloggers! I wanted to share this highlight reel from the panel Jenova Chen and myself were on last week at Comic-Con (it was the first time attending for both of us!). We had a great time interacting with new and old fans, as we also had a playable demo in the main exhibit hall at the Sony PlayStation booth. We gave away a bunch of Journey t-shirts as well, so if you are one of those people, please show us a photo of you wearing it on our Facebook page – we love when our players represent! And if you weren’t able to get a shirt at the show, follow us on Facebook for more chances to win one.
