  • Already ordered mine…should be here tomorrow :)

  • Mine arrived Saturday; I mainly use it for playing loud, explodey single player games without my bf having to listen. Very happy with it; comfortable headset and very nice surround effects in Resistance. It’s not just for multiplayer!

  • Ok, the headset looks ok but Abby looks awesomely hot! :)

  • i have two questions regarding the 3d display :
is it gonna launch in november in canada aswell?
is an extended warranty gonna be available in the ps store like the ps3 one?

  • This is nice

  • This looks really nice , BUT im gonna get PsMove :)

  • Question for someone at Sony – can we use multiple headsets? Say one for each USB port? This looks great for watching movies with my wife.

  • @jazzyrider: Normally, I’d ride people fairly hard for a comment like that, but I have to be honest here; when I saw this article in my Google Reader account, the first thing that hit me was, “Oh dear God; she’s gorgeous!”

Past that, back on topic, I already use a stereo BT headset that I really like, so I don’t see myself getting this one. That TV, however, would look pretty nice in my bedroom, which is the only room in my apartment to not have an HDTV thus far.

  • I bought it and am waiting to deliver to me !

  • Can you use it for PC aswell ?

  • Looks Awesome! I thought we were going to get more Abby… 2 x in 1 year is not enough! XD. Glad to have you back on the blog!

  • Picked up at Gamestop on Saturday and did a 5 hr marathon with them after I charged them. After a few games and 5 hrs of testing it I came away impressed with the sound and with still 2 out of 3 bars of battery left on headset for future gaming…good value, great sound. Good job Sony!!

  • It’s not Blue tooth? It has it’s own Dongle you plug into the usb port? Why is that? Is there benefits of having it that way?

  • Bah… I already have problems keeping up with all the title releases on PS3, now I have to add another thing on my to buy list…

  • The article says bluetooth but she never does.

  • Yeah, it uses a USB dongle, so its either not Bluetooth, or is using some later revision of Bluetooth than the PS3 natively supports.

@7 According to the manual, you can only use one headset per PS3 at a time :(

  • PSone had PlayStation’s first official gaming display! ;p

  • @10 Yes it works on PC, you only get 2.0 sound on pc, but it works great (no mic use as of yet)

  • Picked mine up sat it is so worth it.

Reason for the USB adapter is you can use this on your pc or other devices I assume, I’ve only used it on my pc.

Can charge it while using it, so amazing.

Very lightweight, great for longer gaming sessions.

Can only use one headset at a time on a ps3.

Only drawback to this is that I look like princess leiah from star wars not sure how to spell her name. My wife teases me, but not to much she enjoys not hearing all the noise ;)

  • I read that the wireless stereo headset does NOT do 7.1 surround for movies (DVDs/Bluray). Can this be fixed via a sony firmware update?

  • Was about to ask if it could be used on a PC, but JimmyHACK (@18) already answered, my question. Thanks bro.

  • Whoa, why did I through a comma in after the word answered? I can haz edit button Sony?

  • Ok I give up on spelling today. And spamming posting comments. Looks great lol.

  • Abby forget the headset girl. What kind of men do you like?

  • Sweetest thing that I have brought for my gaming experience. Very lightweight and doesn’t hurt my big ears. Sound quality is excellent, I can hear tanks moving from great distances in Bad Company 2.
And the best thing was that I preordered it months ago from Amazon for only $65.00 and free shipping.
If you’re a serious gamer, this is a must have.

  • Received mine over the w’end – it was easy to set up but there is one issue: The audio from the mic (outbound chat audio) does not come through the headset speakers, so it is very hard to hear oneself when trying to chat with other players in-game.

What is bizarre is that you can hear yourself when using the XMB’s voice changer or mic volume settings, but when in-game you can no longer hear yourself talk through the headsets. Makes it very hard to converse with other players. If there is an obvious solution that I am missing I will eat crow, but at this point there does not appear to be since others are also complaining about this issue on the PS forums.

  • I bought the headset the first day it came out..works like a champ :)

  • I was getting a little ticked about all these headsets being made – this is like version 3 or 4 now right?. But this one is really great. 7.1 sound… yeah, it’s all there. You can hear the directional sounds EXACTLY like they advertised. I was playing Resistance 3 and I was getting gang-rushed by Chimera… all of a sudden I hear “behind” me (through my speakers of course) footprints, turn around, fire my shotgun, and lo-and-behold, there was a Chimera there. It works – plain and simple. The features are all nice, and the ability to control the sound and sound of game vs. chat is a really nice touche. Sooo soft on the ears – sometimes I forget that I’m wearing it. Looks sleek, although still feels a bit “plasticy” – the only complaint I have is that the bass isn’t quite as much as I was hoping for. I mean, for $99 and how big the “earmuffs” are, they seem like they should offer some real punch. But there’s still a good amount of kick to it when explosions are happening. GREAT product Sony… nice to see you staring to make quality products at an even BETTER price. :)

  • Should get mine today – what would be ideal is if I can multi-use it with not only the PS3 but my Galaxy Tab 10.1.

  • I might sound dumb but where do i buy it from?

  • ill take the headset & her

  • @hotdog_hunter…Dude you can buy them almost anywhere lol I got mine at Gamestop

  • Lol i searched a couldnt find any D: in the uk anyway!

  • Abby, I imagine you spent a good time and money on your hairdo , but why didn’t you put the headset on? It’s a headset for gamers, you should have made a few clips wearing the thing and playing a multiplayer game, even if you’re faking it, lol.

  • @hotdog_hunter..My bad bro lol I didn’t know you was across the pond lol Then maybe try Amazon or EBay

  • It could just be me and my internet searching skills but i think this side of the pond don’t have them yet. i searched amazon and zilch, same with ebay :( im going to cry in a corner now..

  • So No Blu ray support yet ? will this come soon?

  • Why are they not Bluetooth?

  • Ahhh i found the problem, not been released in Europe yet! Of course, why didn’t i realise.. its always us first XD

  • Will or can the headset get an update or firmware patch to support 7.1 virtual surround sound with blu-ray movies?

  • As soon as this works with Bluray, I’m buying. I hope an update comes soon.

That USB dongle is doing a great job of highlighting the PS3’s lack of USB ports. Any chance a future revision can have two more USBs behind?

  • see we should have been told before that it supports both blu rays and netflix, This was my biggest fear that it wouldnt support blu rays but now im definitely picking this up

  • It supports movies, i’ve been watching movies all weekend with this baby and it works so well. A great value and a great alternative. Works perfectly on pc as well!

  • When is it available in Brazil?

  • JUST WENT TO PICK UP MY PAIR AT THE POST OFFICE . ABOUT TO DO A VIDEO UNBOXING

  • sorry for the caps .
Now all i need is the 3D tv can’t make up my mind on what kind i want

  • Had my headset pre-ordered for 65$ since July and I gotta say it’s pretty awesome. 7.1 in UC2 multiplayer ROCKS!

  • I will have to say I am amazed at the comments. After I watched the lovely Abby’s video, I expected half of the comments to guys hitting on her but there were only a few that remarks. Well done gentlemen.

I recieved this headset last week and I was geniunely impressed. Especially because I was able to pre-order for $65 from Amazon. Also, as I understand it, blue tooth does not have enough bandwidth for surround and voice chat, which is why, I believe, these are usb.

  • I will be playing Resistance 3, Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3 and Uncharted 3 online
