Dead Nation: Road of Devastation – New Weapons, New Enemies, New Rules

Dead Nation: Road to Devastation for PS3 (PSN)

As Road of Devastation begins, you escape from a laboratory and find yourself at a crossroads leading to three different roads. Each road has its own perks and dangers lying in wait – with different environments, items and enemies for you to discover. Choose your road, and let the devastation begin…

New Weapons

Road of Devastation will give players several new tools and ways to dispose of enemies. And not just something you can carry with you, but also elements found in the environment. Electrified fences, for example, will fry anything that touches them when you turn the power on, so keep your distance and timing right.

You may even get to operate heavy-duty industrial saws – perfect for disposing masses of zombies. Safety reminder: keep your distance from the cutting end while operating heavy industrial equipment!

A new heavy weapon you can carry comes in the form of a computer-assisted, automated targeting system – more details about this high-tech equipment will be revealed in the very near future…

Enemies Evolve

As the virus evolves, so do the enemies. Road of Devastation will put your skills to the ultimate test as enemy waves start growing and growing in numbers, and getting more and more aggressive.

The virus has now also begun to infect even plant life – be careful when treading plant-infested environments. As you wade through areas with heavily overgrown plant life, you can make your way through by destroying the overgrowth that block your progress.

But beneath the ground, masses of buried corpses, all but decomposed have now fused with infected plant life. When these monstrous atrocities burst from amidst the plants, you’ll notice they have no problem treading the infested terrain as they make their way toward you.

Dead Nation: Road to Devastation for PS3 (PSN)

Even plant life has been infected by the virus!

In the original game, the Mouth boss zombie emitted loud screams to alert walking corpses in the nearby area to your position, but a well-placed shot was all that was needed to stop the Mouth from screaming. But with Road to Devastation, it’s back with a vengeance…

True to its name, “Big Mouth” will have you running and gunning while it lets out its gargantuan scream, unstoppable, summoning its minions straight from hell from right below your very feet.

“Big Mouth calls its minions to the surface – you’re on the menu”

New Rules

In order to become the ultimate zombie killing machine you must master the arts of death completely – this time you will be rewarded for pulling off different levels of multikills, making constant tactical decisions based on new money, score and other collectible mechanics, etc.

Dead Nation: Road to Devastation for PS3 (PSN)

Execute multikills for new bonus rewards!

Road of Devastation features both single-player and two-player co-op modes (online and offline), as well as a new set of Trophies. Prepare to experience Dead Nation in a brand-new way in Road of Devastation, scheduled for release on September 27th for $3.99!

Keep up the fight, your country needs you!

  • @SoleAddict23 I didn’t say you said DLC and I didn’t say DLC either. You said it should be free? What’s your justification for that? Because you want it free? We’re not talking about $15 map packs like Call of Duty, we’re not talking about 9.99, not even 4.99. It’s 4 bucks. 400 pennies. New levels, new enemies, new weapons. It takes time and testing, just like the original game itself, but you say it should be free. You’re talking as if they just tossed in a new handgun and said play through the same game again for 3.99. Hell they already gave the game itself for free. Why are you even bringing up “greedy” companies?

@lisasoonami You completed Demons Souls but not this? I’ll help you out if you want, but you gotta get passed that level. It’s not nearly as hard as the last section. If what you’re doing isn’t working, change it up. Never stop moving, and make smart use of your items.

Yes, $4 isn’t much but that doesn’t mean this DLC at $4 isn’t overpriced or priced fairly, and I’m not saying it is or isn’t. I will get it if it’s priced fairly for what we’re getting. You can purchase this DLC just to give Housemarque money, that’s your decision.

  • How long is the campaign this time? The main game’s campaign was around 7-8 hours for me of course it also depends on the difficulty, but can we expect a similar length, or shorter? Oh and 3.99 and september 27th? DAY 1! I literally just finished Dead Nation with my friend at like 2 am today. We had a great time playing this and I told him about the new DLC and of course we’re definitely gonna be playing this as well :D

  • My husband and I loved playing co-op together, so this is a likely purchase.

Are there any improvements to increase the native rendering resolution? The original campaign had great lighting and good sound, but aliasing issues abound.

  • But I wasn’t done saving the nation!

Looks great. It seems September will be crawling with ghouls. I’m ready if you are.

  • looks great kwiet send me a message if you ever wanna co-op after this come out

  • Gives me a reason to start playing this game again. It ended up in my backlog of games when I got my newest PS3. But It looks great. Cant go wrong with a $4.00 PP.

    ****PROUD PS+ MEMBER****

    Junglist for LIFE!!!!!

  • Day one purchase for me! I recently beat it but I’ve been replaying it because I can’t get enough. LOL, according to @35, I must have the reflexes of a 14 year old, even though I’m 36 and disabled.

  • When it was announced I expected $10, but you get all this and it’s just for $4. Sold.

  • Only $3.99? I was expecting at least $9.99. This is great!

  • It will be 1 level for 4$ with three alternating paths to take on said level…

  • 3.99 is perfect. I’ll buy it.

  • Dead nation was the game that pushed me to finally purchase a PS3 in march. Now with a addon/DLC for $3.99 that is just fantastic news to me (more companies should follow this example). Please tell them to continue with the great work.

  • @51

You’re mistaken, misread or misunderstood. This is what i wrote, “everything mentioned in this article, new weapons, tools, zombies, etc should be free.” It says right there, new weapons, new tools, new zombies, etc. means for example, the fence with electricty should be free, not because I want it to be free but because it’s true, those thing should be free, charging for weapons and things of that sort is being greedy and saying f you to your consumers. I asked how long this DLC is because length and quality determine wether you should charge for a DLC and how much, and this game has the quality so all the needs to be known is length.

  • it’s worth WHAT?

    SOLD!

  • wut 3.99??? thats cheap as hell!! definitely SOLD

  • I’m still trying to plat this game, going at mission 8 playing co-op campaing, just missing that only trophy for platinum :D

This game is cool, and never though it will have DLC, with new guns and enemies, maybe I’ll get as well

oh wait… I guess is a new hero.. right?… right??.. post says “escape from the laboratory…” that confuses me… O_o knowing how Dead Nation ends

  • Dead Nation is one of the best downloadable games I have ever played.$ 4 bucks for the dlc? I would of paid more!!!!! great way to reward dead nation fans. Now, come on sept. 27!!!!

  • Sold.

  • I may be in the minority here, but Dead Nation sucked. I got it free for the Welcome Back package after the PSN outage. I was heavily disappointed in this game.

  • that’s some awesome news, I played through the game about 5x times now, I gotta say when this was offered with the welcome back program I had to grab it, the game’s sick

  • A W E S O M E!!! 3.99? folks, you know how to convince us^^

  • Dang with a price like that and all the extras how could some one not buy this, I’m sold day one buy for me.

  • Did you fix the online?

  • Look at all these wonderful positive comments! EA & CAPCOM please take note of Housemarque Studios. They know how to take care of their customers.
Worthy DLC at an unbeatable price! Everyone with dead nation will get this.

  • 4$ im buying it

  • i have 4 dollars in my account
    lucky!!!!

    PERFECT :D

  • Very cool! I still need to get through the game first haha.

  • I put 4.00 bucks in my wallet for this but i have not finished level 10 the last checkpoint yet I will buy this game and play them both.

  • $3.99?

    I love you.

  • Can’t wait for next week’s store update for this and possibly Chrono Trigger.

  • @lisatsunami (Number 35) – You have to kill the several hidden Mouth enemies before you can finish it. Each is behind a wall. You have to find them! :)

DLC looks good… Should be worth the money (probably around £3…)

  • This is such a top tier PSN game and for only 4$ how could you not but this! Just beat the game on Morbid and it was so satisfying! The co-op aspect makes this game perfect for me and my Zombie slaying friends! I Truly cannot wait for sequel!
