  • ROFL @ losing customers because of no Plat. ROFLOFLOFL. I already bought RE2 and RE3, but it will be nice to get RE1 for free at least. Looking forward to REC:VX HD, too.

If you really need something new, it has regular trophies, doesn’t it? Oh, but right, you’re too obsessive over your PSN level, aren’t you? You literally need that platinum, am I right? No, go ahead and keep on complaining about a trophy over a legitimate issue, like the omission of an entire play style. No, really, it’s clearly more important because you care about the number that’s next to your username on your PSN friends list.

  • @193 Yes and no.

So far on disc, you can get tomb Raider trilogy, Prince of Persia trilogy, Sly Cooper trilogy, coming soon Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, God of war/Origins collections, and in late fall Metal gear Solid and Silent Hill Collections.

On PStore you can get Prince of Persia trilogy (though representable for 15$ each so it’s cheaper on disc), God of War Origins, god of war collection (Ps2) but only if you have PS+ and Beyond Good and Evil.

Also as a note: Only Japan has the disc version of RE4 and RE Code X.

I prefer disc sets but, oh well, I’ll be getting both RE4 and Code X for 10$ each so im good ^^

  • Resident Evil: Code Veronica was my favorite. I really got into this game on the Dreamcast – wow those were the days. Another classic of that era was House of the Dead on the Dreamcast. Thus, I am very much looking forward to grabbing up Code Veronica on the PS Store and also cant wait to use my new Move Sharpshooter on the House of the Dead: Overkill Extended version :-).

Perhaps if you read the comments a little closer, you would understand why we are upset about the missing plat. Unfortunately you are biased when it comes to the subject of trophies so there’s probably no getting through to you.

  • No Move support? I’ll probably pass then cuz I already own this game for PS2.

  • One step forward, two steps back. What’s the reasoning behind not including Move support? Up-ressed graphics aren’t going to be enough to sit through the insufferable controls of the regular game.

  • Why does the XBL version get the full 1000gs and the PSN version don’t have platinum? Either way, With or without platinum I’m still buying this game.

  • Personally, I like trophies. But I LOVE games. I could very well live without trophies, but I would refuse to live without videogames.

RE4 is a day one purchase for me.

  • Trophies are a great feature and yes the game should have platinum but the thought of people obsessing over trophies is delusional. I love games and I love playing them and trophies isn’t my priority for gaming. Story and gameplay is the utmost then to online play if the game supports it. The one thing I like to have Capcom is to include PS Move support because I want to feel how it is playing with a PS Move motion controller on RE4 HD. I’ve seen the wii version and it’s looks interesting and maybe fun. I am still going to get the game since the sale is definitely a nice chance to take advantage over it.

  • LMAO at these people crying over the lack of Platinum trophy

  • Actually never played Veronica but I can say RE4 is the best Resident Evil of them all – I also hope if you upload RE5 to PSN that its the gold version if possible, or at least give us a 2 week deal of the DLC we’d need to buy to get it to gold. Or else it will unfortunently again be cheaper to buy retail, as I believe one can find RE5 Gold for like 30 bucks new.

  • And finally I want to add my two cents into this trophy nonsense. It’s a sad day when people will boycott playing good games, or just games in general, because of lack of Trophies or gamerscore. We must be pretty spoiled to think that every game needs them and clearly if they don’t have it’s not worth playing. Maybe I’m just an old timer and these standards don’t fly anymore, but back in my day…no more than 5-6 years ago, I’d play a game because it was good, not because it had something to increase my e-peen. I have been playing video/computer games since probably i was 3 years old, which should be on or around ’85 – all the way from nes and dos to xbox 360 and now ps3.

Man I have seen people play awful games just to get a plat or 1000 GS, if there’s anything I hate about this current console generation that will probably now go away is peoples reluctance to only game for the score, and not game for the game like we used to. It might just be a console thing though..

  • No Move support means the Wii version is superior already. HD graphics aren’t enough to get me to play it with the old terrible controls.

  • @203 (GTIgrl)

No, I have read most of the comments complaining about the platinum trophy. It was painful. You’re all upset about an irrelevant point system on a different console, and some lack of equality therein. Why should it matter how many trophies the game has, or how many points it’s worth on a different console? If you like the game enough, you’ll purchase and play it again! If not, then what business is it of mine how many copies of the game you happen to already own? Pro-tip: nobody cares if you already own it 9 different ways from Sunday, nor do they care that your only motivation for purchasing the game for the 120th time is so you can add numbers to your e-peen.

What I do care about is the fact that there is a rather outspoken set of mouthbreathers complaining about something that’s far less important than an actual gameplay changing mechanic! Oddly enough, a different control style is actually a justifiable deciding factor for making a purchase. An opportunity to make a number larger is not.

  • Its about DAMN time they added RE4….now they need to add Resident Evil:Code Veronica…..rest of the RE games not to worried bout

    WARLOCKOZZY

  • Woooo! This is 1 of those games that make me wanna go grab my dualshock and let the epic adventure begin, finally RE4 for ps3!! im so happy cause this was a memorable game for me and im gonna get it as soon as i can:-) so thank you Capcom and sony for making this happen!! (^_×°)

  • Off topic: Now that the new devil my cry is coming out soon is there Any chance of a devil my cry hd collection? if so i would buy it firts day cause meh i luv those games and dante is awesome!

  • No platinum is a thing, but I REALLY hope that they forgot to talk about MOVE compatibilty in this post…

  • at least, they did it with Resident evil 5 Gold Edition. Whyyyyyyyyyy is this happening to us?

  • Awesome. Glad to see Plus paying off. <3

  • Wow really?! Seriously?! Think of me what you will, but…

    MOVE SUPPORT + PLATINUM TROPHY

    or GTFO

I will not spend my money, sorry Capcom.

  • Wow… how ironic. In spite of me telling it not to, my PSN+ subscription renewed itself when the 3 free months ran out (I got it the first time so i could get the MK demo early). I was pretty upset at the time but with both RE4 and CVX 50% off it kinda pays for itself :D

  • How much>

  • I plan to get this bad boy. Now I don’t have to drag my PS2 back and forth between my girl friend’s house and my house to play it.

  • The problem everyone is having is that in Japan the game is in disc form and not as a PSN game. That being said, X-Box 360 got it to be 1000 points. The reason everyone is upset is because Sony dropped the ball or is letting Microsoft get over again with something more for there game. It isn’t really about the trophies, more-or-less, it’s about Microsoft getting more for there game then Sony.

  • I wonder if we are going to keep the free games after the plus subscription expires.

  • @213

Whenever you’re ready to stop raging on the playstation blog, lol…

Once again, you’re so off base with why we are upset about the ommision of full support, so it’s kind of like presenting an arguement to a brick wall. Who are you to be presenting “pro-tips”? Cut the insults, stop being difficult, and do not comment if you’re just going to be abrasive.

  • EPIC News!!!

I’ve still got my RE4 copy from PS2 but I might just consider buying it on PSN…

  • I played all of these games so many times that it would just be silly to buy them again. Especially since these HD remakes are just anti-aliasing with a lot of blur thrown in… oh, my bad, you make it widescreen too. So worth the money. /sarcasm

  • @Fenrisulfr:

If what I’m hearing is correct, these remastered titles don’t even have anti aliasing, and they run at 30fps lol. Isn’t it a shame?

  • Surprised that us Plus members would get 50% off both RE4 and Code Veronica. I’ll be getting RE4 and probably Code Veronica having played both back in the day.

  • @226

When your Plus subscription expires, you lose the free games.

  • Come on CAPCOM! you can implement MOVE..

  • Yay capcom continues its fantastic recycling tactics yet again! -_- Come on its was already on gamecube,ps2, and wii stop recylcling your games and start making more new IPs or take ninja theory off of DmC and have the real DMC team make Dante’s new game.
OMG! NO PLATINUM TROPHY! The game is totally RUINED! lol If tiny icons accompannied by imaginary percentages are that important to you why bother gaming? Last time I checked gaming is about the actual game not some dumb award sytstem.

  • just patch the move controls or else no buy

  • Move compatibly, PLEASE.

  • No Move support? c’mon you guys made RE4 Wii edition? and please this is a complete game please give it full trophy support with a platinum it would be so much more fun!

  • if any of you are not going to buy this game over a trophy you probably should quit gaming anyways its not about a invisible trophy its about fun and this is coming from someone who has almost 1700 trophies, i dont play games for a trophy i do replay them and get the trophies after ive played it without worrying about a dumb trophy.

plus most of you just complain to complain you wouldnt have the patience to obtain platinum in a game anyways now you finally have the chance to 100% a game

  • Are you guys for real no trophies for RE4.since when how they manage to do that.

  • @227

Speaking of brick walls, why don’t you just tell me why you think trophies are more important than Move support? You mention full support, so how does Move support factor into that at all, let alone being less important than a picture file of a trophy that adds to a number on your profile? How does making a number bigger somehow contribute more to the experience than a completely different way to control the game?

I enjoy being abrasive. I feel it helps drive my points home. You know, the part where I explain why I think something is more important, instead of just telling you “you’re off base” and leaving it at that. All insults aside, I do think I’ve earned an explanation from you of why you think trophies are more important than Move support. All of your kind seem to list the platinum first. So tell me: what’s so great about trophies that make them so much more important than a gameplay changing control method?

I predict you’ll go for the other option of just dismissively calling me a jerk, and continuing to fail to explain your position. All your mouthbreather buddies will rally behind you and you’ll consider it a success, in spite of never making a legitimate argument.

  • @213
you’re really missing the point. To most trophy hunters, trophies are not about the level or the bragging rights or whatever. (though, yes, there are some that it matters to). To most, it’s like a side quest. A trophy gives us a goal to shoot for. Something to try to accomplish. You’re right, the exclusion of move support is also inexcusable, but many of us like myself are old school gamers. We grew up with a controller in our hands, not a remote that you point at the screen and we prefer it that way, so it doesnt matter so much to us that move support is excluded, but I DO understand why it DOES matter to others.
But when they say “No platinum” its usually not about the platinum itself either. Its because i dont think any game with only 12 trophies has a platinum. If the game has a decent trophy list, it has a platinum. Thats what its about. RE4 has 3 trophies.3, not 12. A trophy that is acquired by natural progression through the game doesnt count. But it counts toward our level! Yeah. It does. But thats not why trophies matter to us. They matter because they give us something fun to do. Most gamers have this game and this port has nothing new to offer.

  • Oh you did not just imply I’m not an old-school gamer. I grew up with an NES controller in my hands. You mean to tell me that you really think using an analog stick is better than literally pointing at the things you want to shoot?

And are you really so unimaginative that you need trophies to tell you how to play the game a different way?

  • Good to see I’m not the only one mad about the no platinum. And $20 is way overpriced. Good thing I have PSN+, but still…
Any news on if it will have DRM?

  • Not at all. I didn’t know if you were an old school gamer or not. I can see how some people would like the motion controls, but some don’t. Like me. Yes, for some it IS better. It’s a personal preference thing. For me, my arm gets pretty worn out, pointing it at the screen all the time. And no, but it makes it much more fun when the game acknowledges what you’re doing. Again, it’s like doing a side quest. It’s not nearly as fun to make an effort to do something if the game doesn’t acknowledge it in any way. Like with the challenges on Batman: Arkahm Asylum. If the game didn’t register that they had been completed, it wouldn’t be nearly as fun to do them because you wouldn’t feel like you were accomplishing anything

  • free is free. but how is 50 % off, when your paying for the plus plan ? glade to see re4 hit ps3 ! it was and still is a killer game with all the extra cont. but , hay, lets get it right. it’s not 50 % off for plus members, its 50% more for non-plus members. eather way it’s worth the 19.99.

  • It comes with PS Move support ???? Please say yes!!!!

  • No deal. But thank you for offering.
