PlayStation 3

Supremacy MMA — Supremacy MMA brings the brutality of unsanctioned and unlicensed MMA fighting to the bigtime, favoring fast-and-furious gameplay and underground aesthetics over official branding and television-style presentation. The game aims to raise the bar in the MMA space by bringing an unprecedented level of fast, fluid combat, intuitive controls and true-to-the-sport brutality.

PlayStation Portable

Persona 2: Innocent Sin (Also on PSN) — The story takes place in Sumaru City, Japan, population 1,280,000. Its protagonist attends Seven Sisters High School (“Sevens” for short), whose emblem is considered a status symbol even amongst students from other schools. Soon, though, a rumor that Sevens’ emblem was actually cursed, and that wearing it would disfigure one’s face, had spread around the city. Even worse, the rumor came true. And it was only the beginning of a string of rumors becoming reality, one after another. Before long, the protagonists discover the power to summon another side of them called “Personas,” which they use to investigate the strange incidents around the city, all while facing their own personal demons as well. Time is once again on the march…

PlayStation Network

Saints Row 2 — Saints Row 2 takes place a few years after the original. Several new upstart gangs have been able to sweep in and make their mark on Stilwater. At the same time, a multi-national conglomerate known as the Ultor Corporation has become a pivotal player in city politics, pumping millions of dollars into rebuilding the metropolis.

As leader of the Saints, you’ll have to do whatever it takes to protect the members of your gang from new enemies, including the Ultor Corporation and rival gangs.

Resident Evil 4 — The HD version of Resident Evil 4 comes to the PS3, featuring improved visuals that will enhance the player’s gaming experience. Six years have passed since Raccoon City was destroyed and the government has dismantled the Umbrella Corporation from the inside-out. But the terror is not over. Now a U.S. Agent, former Raccoon Police Officer Leon Kennedy has been dispatched on a mission to Europe to save the President’s daughter from a “crazed organization” that bares a striking behavioral resemblance to creatures found in the Arklay Mountains. Is there a connection between these foes and the horrible nightmares from the past?

Burnout Crash (Demo Available) — Burnout Crash packs countless hours of reckless chaos into an easy to pick up, but difficult to master gameplay experience. There are three explosive game modes available across 18 crash junctions in six unique locations, each requiring different skills and strategies to maximize damage and destroy everything in sight. With a variety of player vehicles to unlock, high-value targets to seek and destroy, and crazy surprise features to discover, players will be hooked on an adrenaline-fueled rampage to the top of the Crashwall.

Cubixx HD (Demo Available) — Use your laser to cut away the surfaces of a mysterious cube and free the energy within. Cutting longer lines and crossing multiple cube surfaces gives you bigger combos, but at far greater risk. Can you brave this hazardous environment and complete all 20 levels? Old-school, high score-chasing gameplay with a modern twist. Do you have what it takes to top the high score table and become number one?

Altered Beast — Destroy all enemies to rescue the fair maiden. Your powers increase when you destroy certain enemies and take their energy; once you achieve a certain energy level, you can alter your shape into that of a beast!

Bolt — In Disney’s Bolt, players take on the heroic personas of the TV star dog, Bolt, and his owner, Penny, from the high-action television series featured within the film. As Bolt, players can use his superpowers, including laser vision and his superbark, which sends out a sonic blast to devastate opponents, and as Penny, players utilize stealth, hacking skills and a wheelbar, inspired by her scooter seen in the movie, to outwit enemies.

minis

  • Edge — Develop your telekinetic strength by pushing a Cube within a geometric universe. Platforms, enigmas and reflexes combine to make Edge a rich and very comprehensive game.

PSone Classic

Chrono Trigger — Living in the seemingly peaceful kingdom of Guardia in 1000 A.D., the child Crono was chosen by guardian spirits to save the world from ultimate devastation. Though Doomsday will not happen until the year 1999, the ancient seeds of destruction were planted long ago the the evil LAVOS. Your mission in the world of Chrono Trigger is to travel back and forth through time to change the course of history, and stop LAVOS from succeeding in his dark plan. On your journey, you will battle monsters and meet many helpful people in both the past and the future. Some will become your faithful and powerful companions, while others will give you clues by telling you stories.
Final Fantasy VI — With Edgar’s tools, Terra’s magic, Sabin’s fists and the skills of a dozen additional characters, the Returners need only your help to seize victory from the Empire. Summon the power of the espers, magical creatures enslaved by the Empire.

  • Rey, that’s a lot of corrections. Do you need an editor to check before posting. I need a new job if you’re intested. I have a BA in English/Education so I can help, and I’m cheap.

Why not release some of these titles during the summer game drought? You would sell a heck of a lot more since there’s no competition and kids are all home. I’m just sayin’…

  • Waiting for FFX, which is coming, btw.

  • I’m buying RE4, Chrono Trigger, and FFVI. Keep it coming Square Just need Kingdom Heart Birth By Sleep and Final Fantasy V. Also Capcom it really stinks that you didn’t give me a platinum to work for in one of my favorite games of all time.

  • Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI, Last game i want is Breath of Fire 3 and i will be Happy. Please Sony hear my plead!!! and Releases Breath of Fire 3!!!!

  • FINALLY CHRONO TRIGGER IS COMING TO PSN, I CAN’T WAIT!!!

  • I thought Crysis was dropping this tuesday on the psn?

  • 5.99 apiece or 9.99 apiece for CC and FF6 I’ll still get both!!

  • omg…FFVI and Crono trigger?!?!
    Finally some great PSOne classics!!!!
    Thank you Sony!

Chrono Trigger & FF6 — the two best PSOne classics together in one week!!! Yes, these are going on my PSP Go this Tuesday, and will be carrying over to my vita on day 1. Thanks to everyone responsible for making this happen!

Dude totally read my mind. I don’t have a PSP Go, but I’ll definitely be getting the Vita.

  • Back in my day FFVI was FFIII and it was on SNES… still an awesome game, as is Chrono Trigger. Along with Altered Beast (a Genesis Classic), it’s a nice, nostalgic drop this week.

  • Meh, pretty dull list. Not really getting FFVI or Chrono Trigger since i already have the ones more superior than the PSX versions. And what’s the point in getting RE4 again if I already have it for PS2?

I’m still waiting for Castlevania to be released, but right now i think they’re just trolling the ones waiting for that game. Oh and i’m also waiting for CVX, since i’ve never played it.

  • @5 Lol I respect your persistence dude. I can’t wait it to come either.

@15 Actually a platinum is worth the same amount of % or points as 2 gold trophies so it is more than just saying I got the 100% and even if it didn’t count for anything it is still nice to have a marker seeing how many games you have finished.

Bit of a slow week for me though since I don’t buy the PS1 classics since they lack trophy support and I pretty much own all the ps1 games I want already on the ps1. However if you guys put trophy support on your ps1 games boy would you all see a huge spark in sales…. HUGE.

  • No mention of Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, still? They said it was supposed to be released in September. Kinda cutting it close here. A date would be nice in the very least. I will be very disappointed if it doesn’t make it in September.

  • Can’t wait for FFVI and Chrono Trigger =)

  • @Afro_Priest I’m with you! Breath of Fire 3 and we’re -ALMOST- Complete! We still need Suikoden 2 and then the we have all the ultimate RPGs on the PS3/PSP/Vita

  • Lot of great stuff this week and some empty pockets to come after.

  • Great!

  • I’ll be happy to beat RE4 yet again, I’ve got a question though, will the laser work as it did in the Wii version or the PS2 one?

  • Already got Chrono Trigger and FFVI but having them on PSP is too good not to have. Definitely going to be hitting up Resident Evil 4 too, since I missed that one during the PS2 days. And there’s a couple others on there that interest me. Real good drop this week, loving it.

Btw, any news on if the Ico/Shadow Collection will be available on the PSN come next week?

  • Any new avatars this week???

  • So is Mass Effect 2 returning to PSN? If so, great. Timing isn’t that hot, though. I bought two $50 PSN cards last month with the plans of getting it, but when I get home and get to the store, it wasn’t there. I wasn’t very happy, but I still got some really great games I had missed out on like Braid. So if it is returning, will the price be lower as it should be?

  • Thank You Sony!!!!! :)

  • One more time I have to complain. I am getting screwed with this PS Plus account. I would like to purchase the PSone Resident Evil games at the half price discount but because I am a plus member my only option will be a limited free download. You need to make a work around. I didn’t get plus for the free conditional game I got it for discounts and now non-member’s are getting a better deal then me in my eyes.

  • Yes!! Saints row 2!! how much will it be??

  • When you there be good games released instead of Saints Row 2 Far Cry 2 and Bulletstorm! Where is Batman! Killzone 2 and 3! MGS4! GOW3, Black Ops, MW2 any of the Uncharted games! I could go on for days! Pretty Weak! Will you be ramping up more titles being released or are we crap out of luck until the PS4!

  • OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG FFVI OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG

  • Don’t fall for the PS1 versions of Chrono Trigger or FF6, they are absolutely unplayable.

Slowdown, load times before battles and when opening a menu, even the music is ruined.

Virtual Console is the place to get these, or DS for Chrono.

  • Do you guys think that the PSn version of Chrono Trigger and FF6 will have the lag?

  • Which versions of Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI are being released, I hope the SNES version… :D

♪Oh my hero, so far away now.
Will I ever see your smile?
Love goes away, like night into day.
    It’s just a fading dream. ♪

  • Im super exited for the Resident Evils, Chrono Trigger and most of all for one of my top 3 all time rpg FF6

  • If do A Onimusha 1-4 HD remake then I’ll get excited.

  • so is the chrono trigger and final fantasy VI coming out the ones that came out on ps1 years ago or the most recent updates of them?

  • Chrono Trigger and FFVI PS1 classic’s huh. I hope the load times arent completely utter crap like the original PS1 releases, which are essentially poorly made ports of the SNES versions

  • I want Onimusha remakes …….NOW!!!

  • Now They just need to add Legend of Dragoon and my collection will be complete! Go PLAYSTATION!!!!

  • I was expecting Final Fantasy V. Oh well. The Resident Evil games will do.

  • PLEASE bring back the Battlefield Bad Company 2 Add-On Bundle Pack PLEASE.

I had no idea these were ‘drops’ every weekend and they expired. I just now came up with the money for the bundle pack and now it’s gone.

I’m not cryin (yet), I’m just flat out BEGGIN you.

    I can’t believe I missed it.

  • #181 i second that. though i have a hard copy i would also like to download it.

  • Hmm Persona 2 (psn release) plus Crono and FF6? im impress! will be buying FF6 for sure. Still a bit lacking on psp game releases. Would be nice to get some classic psp games like Crisis Core out before the vita hits so it available by that time to people to get to play

  • me wants RE4 now ;P
    hurry up already tuesday!

  • CHRONO TRIGGER ON MY PSP YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • AND FF6 YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • Is there going to be a patch update for RE4 to get move support? and also why do you guys LET Activision run all over you all. Your store update is on TUESDAYS yet whenever they release their map packs you guys have to shell them out on another day that isn’t the store update. Just wondering . You all make them their money by allowing it on your store and system, why not be stricter so we won”t all be wondering why it don’t come out on a set day. Just my two cents.( cause thats all i have , seriously)

  • Still no mention about portal 2 dlc, journey and castlevania. what the heck Valve, T.G.C. and Kanomi they all made promises to be released before the end of summer and now we are like 3 days awayfrom fall and still no word. Can’t anyone keep there word anymore? I’m so sick of wating for a game that they anounce 6 month earlier and biuld up some form of hype and all you get the day it is sapossed to release is a big slap in the proverbiel face. Thanks again Sony and S.O.E for taking a chance on these great games but where is the dead line? or are we going to see a nother Duke Nukem and had another game in development for 10 years?

  • Is FF6 and Chrono Trigger arriving as FF Anthology or separately?

  • price for FF6 plz?

  • gears of war 3.
    trolol

  • Hey rey, you forgot to add BlackOps Rezzurection that releases september 22nd 2011

  • As excited as I am about FFVI (the best in the series IMO) and CC coming to the PSN, what I want to know is, are they direct ports of the PS1 games with the horrid load times included, or has that issue been addressed? They were almost unplayable for the PS1. That will be the deciding factor if I get this or not.

  • PLEASE, for the love of God…

Now that Chrono Trigger is released, can people PLEASE switch to asking for Legend of Dragoon and Einhander?
