A recent scientific study out of ModNation Laboratories Research and Development department (located in sunny San Diego, CA) reveals that 75% of ModNation creators are eagerly looking to further their Mod and Kart design education. Now you (yes you!) have the opportunity to learn and work with the best that ModNation has to offer. MNR’s Community College is now in session (or MNCC as we like to call it).
Enrollment starts this week for “Modnation Kart Posse Challenge 101”, the first of many Mod & Kart creation courses here at MNCC. Here is how it works… MNCC students register (for free!) for “MKPC101”HERE. The faculty will randomly place students into high-energy lab teams of at least three members who will put their creative minds together in designing their team’s karts “Posse” style. Teams’ names could look like “Team Too Many Stickers”, “Team Big, Bad & Ugly”, “Team Chicks Rule, Boys Drool” or maybe even “Team Color-Blind”, who knows? This is a great opportunity for you to learn and collaborate on the kart creating process with creators of all skill levels.

What could possibly be better than battling with thousands of other players online in the first, and only, action MMO on the PS? How about battling FOR FREE? That’s right, DC Universe Online will soon be free to download from the PlayStation Store, and free-to-play with no monthly fees required.
So what’s the catch? There is none. The entire game will be open for you to play for free. We have gotten a lot of feedback from gamers asking for an opportunity to play without a subscription requirement. So, that got us thinking about how to offer access to the game in a way that allows gamers to play their way. We wanted something that would give players options. We know different types of gamers are playing – and want to play – DCUO, and we want each person to be able to play in a way that best fits their style. That’s why we’ve created three levels of access to the game:
Like UNCHARTED

Helping to make the launch of our favorite game series all the sweeter, and further expanding the lore of Drake’s travels, be sure to visit your favorite local book and comic stores to reserve these two outstanding adventures in print entertainment for Uncharted!
First up, and on sale October 4th, 2011 is UNCHARTED: The Fourth Labyrinth, written by author Christopher Golden who recently shared with us:

Big week for news! In addition to what you read here on this site, the Tokyo Game Show impressions are rolling in, and it seems that PS Vita was what everyone was lining up to play. You’ll find boatloads of impressions below from what’s shaping up to be the biggest launch lineup in PlayStation’s storied history.
Closer to home, you may have read that Starhawk developers LightBox will be showing off their game at this week’s Fantastic Fest in Austin. Turns out we’ll have a lot more than just Starhawk for PlayStation fans to play. If you’re in Texas, look for more details here tomorrow, but you might wanna keep this Thursday night free…
The PS.Blog weekly reading list (Week of September 12, 2011)
Though Tokyo Game Show is firmly focused on news concerning the Japanese gaming community, this week did see a flurry of gaming announcements that apply to US gamers as well: Katamari Damacy was announced for PS Vita, PixelJunk Lifelike formally changed its name to (the much sleeker) PixelJunk 4am, PS Vita’s mindbending puzzle-RPG Gravity Rush released new details and (gorgeous) new screens, and a new video walkthrough for UNCHARTED: Golden Abyss.
In addition to our top 10 posts below, this week also saw a lengthy video showing off Starhawk’s outer space combat, the long-awaited debut gameplay trailer for Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath HD for PS3, a Tetris championship aimed at PS3 players, details on the single-player experience in Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, and an October 4th release date for PSN Eufloria.
Salutations! I know it’s been a while since we last spoke, but the Pub Fund group at SCEA has been hard at work on bringing interesting, exclusive content to PSN. Okabu, Papo & Yo, and more clandestine projects are still on the horizon, but today I’m here to drop the launch details for Eufloria – a very different, very special sort of strategy game.
It’s tough to distill the concept down to a couple of sentences without doing the experience a huge injustice, but this excellent trailer (above) should give you an idea of the mood and visual direction.
Now take that ethereal aesthetic, and the tingling that you’re feeling in your temples, and fold a layer of smartly accessible strategy elements over it. You’ll be exploring, conquering and colonizing enemy asteroids without the need for messy tech trees or arcane controls.
