Need for Speed The Run Demo Hits PSN Tomorrow

As PlayStation fans should already know, Need for Speed The Run is an illicit high-stakes cross-country race from San Francisco to New York. You’ll be playing as Jack, who is a marked man and his only way out is to battle other 200 racers for a sweet $25 million dollar prize.

Starting October 18th, PS3 owners can get their hands on The Run demo on the PlayStation Store! Featuring the monster Lamborghini LP550-2 Valentino Balboni and the brand-new Porsche Carrera S, the demo will let you open them up in two locations set in the US. (As a side note, don’t forget that if you live in the US, Canada or the UK, you can win the new Carrera S in real life just by logging into your EA account!)

Need for Speed: The Run (Run for the Hills)

Desert Hills will have you jockeying for position through the sweeping Nevada highways, while Independence Pass presents an entirely different challenge. An avalanche bears down on your Lambo (or Porsche) as you dice it up against an Audi R8, avoiding falling boulders and the onslaught of snow that’s right on your rear bumper. At that point it’s not so much about winning as it is surviving!

All of your times are tracked using Need For Speed’s Autolog feature, allowing you to challenge your PSN friends and beat their times.

Lastly, just by pre-ordering the game on PS3, you automatically get seven exclusive supercars to use! These aren’t just throwaway cars either. PlayStation players will get the following beasts in their garage:

  • Bugatti Veyron Super Sport
  • Hennessey Venom GT
  • GUMPERT apollo s
  • Lamborghini Countach QV5000
  • Koenigsegg Agera R
  • Lexus LFA
  • Porsche Carrera GT

      Both levels in the demo are awesome, but Independence Pass is crazy-intense with the avalanche on your tail!

    Your website must be running of the psn network servers cause I am unable to watch this video loading every 5 minutes at a 13 mB Connection! PSN FAIL!

    Looks the same like a normal need for speed game.But it actual looks more realistic and more and more agressive!Gotta downlaod the demo,its going to be AWESOME!

    Are you going to have the all cars/tracks unlocks up on the psn, before the game is released? like you’ve done before.

    EA will do anything to separate little kids from their parents money.. $59.99 for the game, $10.00 for each person in your household that would like to play online, $30.00 for car/ track unlocks, for the people that don’t have the patience to play the game. EA = BIG FAIL!!!!!

    Looks ok but idk I’m kinda done with ea games, since they gotten so damn greedy an all. glued2u im with you man 10 bucks on top it really? Not even cod dose that an there greedy as hell to but this just puts ea on a whole new level of greediness.

    The Runs is still a joke of a game name. EA’s games arent worth the discs they’re printed on. They wouldnt even be worth it if they still published games on cds…

    I hope this game turns out to be good. From what people are saying so far it will only be a so so game. I will try out the demo and than wait for reviews to see if this will be a purchase or a rent.

    The trailer looks good, i hope the game does too. It certainly looks worth a download from me. This could be the first NFS title I’ve purchased in a long time, unless of course it has an “online pass”, then i don’t care how good it is.

    also EVERYONE OUT THERE READING THIS RIGHT NOW WHO IS WAITING FOR PSN STORE UPDATE, today is a HUGE update there are lots of demos and lots of new games and much more being added today its gunna be a massive one so remember give them time to get it ready and please dont complain if your trying to get into the store and its really slow because that only means its being updated.

    Also i dont get why people say the psn sucks cuz i have been playing on psn for a couple years now and the only time that the psn sucks is when my router is being a [DELETED] lol its never psn, becuase usually i can play, GTA, BFBC2, COD, and much more online and i get no problems, sounds like the people saying psn sucks or say its laggy are the poor ones who dont have high speed internet, because i have high speed and my psn is fast, reliable and doesnt lag.

    I’ll play the demo, as I enjoy the arcade style nfs games ( i still don’t forgive them for not patching the woeful handling on Shift 2 Unleashed), but I will only buy this new for $25- $30 on ebay or amazon in a few months time.

    I hate this greedy add-on milking everything trend that has become the norm. I won’t support it.
    I don’t ever buy games anywhere close to their release date anymore. I don’t get excited by the hype anymore, so I don’t mind waiting a few months, & pick it up at $25-$30. Screw the DLC & preorder crap.
