With PS Vita, the world is in play. PS Vita is the next generation portable entertainment system, providing interaction with the world around you. Unlike any other handheld device ever designed, PS Vita provides all new ways to play, including a complete, socially connected experience with the biggest and best games. From the beautiful, highest resolution front touch screen and rear touch pad, to the dual analog sticks, motion sensors and dual cameras, PS Vita will offer all new ways to engage and play your favorite games. • I’ve been really excited about the Vita, and I don’t know why this is such a big deal, but a $16 proprietary USB cable is really just the last straw. I’ll wait for the redesign with a proper micro-USB connector and pray that you don’t remove backwards compatilbility with existing PSP titles.

  • Will the 3G model require a contract with a wireless provider? If so, what plans will there be and how much? Thank you.

  • Hey, the PS vita looks good but its a little expensive and the graphics are not that good I just hope you keep doing games and things for the PS3 :)

  • hey evey one Does know that this system is an only download system right ? from what i know it will be a psp go style download every thing no discs at all i think thats kinda lame and the whole 3g stuff come on just another way to make us pay is it not bad enough your charging 350 dollars for it with a game thats not even somthing most want to play now what i want out of this system is to be able to play call of duty on the go and i would also like a netflixs option and i thought we upgraded from them slow memory sticks i’m starting to think this vita is gonna be another system that sits around on a desk just like my psp as im sure many others too

  • DataConnect 3G Plans

DataConnect 5 GB $60.00 $0.05 per 1 MB $0.015/KB $0.0195/KB hahaha what a joke im losing respect for sony thats the only plan they have for 3g data plans

  • I think I’ll pre-order the wifi and the game at the same time and don’t get in the web of AT&t bad 3G network.

  • But I’ll wait for a week longer.

  • @dewme69 You do know that it uses cartridges right?

  • Epic Fail for not offering the Wifi $299 first edition here in the US Sony. Please change this and you will have my automatic pre-order.

    Sincerely,

    OVERCOME

  • @254 dewme69:
Have you done ANY research on the system before blathering on about how terrible it’s going to be? First of all, it’s NOT download only, it will use a new proprietary flash card called an NVG card.. Second, it no longer uses MS Pro Duo, but a new version that is REQUIRED for many games, go figure. Third, Little Deviants is the perfect game to include with the system as it showcases all of the new features of the system, which is, without a doubt, Sony’s intention. A quick Google search would have told you all of this information. Also, people might be more inclined to respect your post had you taken 10 seconds to use proper punctuation.

    OT:
I got really excited about the bundle, it comes with everything you need to get started. I won’t be purchasing this bundle, because I have no interest in the 3g. People keep saying “Well, you just don’t have to use it,” but why pay $50 for a feature you will never use? Release both versions in both countries and watch the pre-orders skyrocket.

  • Pre-ordered and the receipt is hanging on the fridge. Also Grabbed uncharted which I hope comes on the 15th. Drakes Deception is amazing and a must play for all gamers.

  • So many here from the US saying they’d get on board if the system were wifi only. I agree. Sony is missing a pre-order spike in their sales without giving the US the option package as an incentive. One writer said something like wifi only, a 16 gb card, and the case for, what? $299.00? Whatever the price, Sony should give those of us who want to pre-order a package deal and get it week early but only want the wifi. I appreciate the 3g but I have no use for it.

  • @dewme69

You may have “lost respect for Sony” but I have no respect for some one spouting misinformation. In case the first two times weren’t enough. This system is cartridge based (on a proprietary format Sony has created) and download based. Before you start posting things like they are fact check up on what you are posting. the last thing we need is to steer some one wrong due to some one like you.

As for the 3G while it isn’t something I would use some people might use it and besides the 3G service is through AT&T which is mostly people aren’t wanting this model or the service.

  • Did dating dating we have to separate?

  • I WANT IT REALLY REALLY BADLY, my b-day is feb 25,

  • is there going to be a white vita?

  • I just preoredered this i cant wait for the vita the wait its just killing me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Seems like Americans wants the Wi-fi model while Canadians wants the 3G/Wi-fi models, kinda makes sense.

With America’s financial uncertainties, people are likely to save their money for other purpases.

Likewise, Canada’s 2008 reccession lasted 6 month, and since ”unlike America” the Canadian gouverment ”owns” it’s own bank (more like an agreement between the RCM and the GOV of Can) the gouverment gets to decide the interest rate that the bank will have, since they reduced it the lowest level it’s ever been .25%, that stimulated the economy because people didn’t save their money, they spent it.

Also, if the American Gouverment had the same agreement like Canada has with it’s bank, it would have given the American gouverment the ability to act WAY before their would have been any crisis and their wouldn’t even been a recession in the first place. Yeah, and you though Canada’s infrastructure wasn’t sophisticated…

anyway, Canada is a large country and not very densily populated, so the fact of having a 3G phone is almost crucial to Canadians. To be able to communicate with everyone, it’s not like everyone lives in big cities, everything is distant.

  • oh, btw, if you do plan on releasing a 3G Vita, I want it bundled with Uncharted Golden Abyss. Add a huge 16GB memory card, and you could add the PS Vita case, but it’s not necessary.

sell it at 400$, make at least 1, and sell it to me!
    ; )

  • excuse me will the wifi version have long range wifi settings for your router? for EXAMPLE IF MY ROUTER IS 2 MILES AWAY, WILL I BE ABLE TO STILL BE ON THE INTERNET????????????????? PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION THANX VERY MUCH

  • 3G is a FAIL.. why not 4G Verizon or Sprint?? I hate AT&T.. I have a stupid iphone4… battery life in one year dropped 50%.. 3g sucks.. did I mention it’s very slow?? You guys think the psp browser is slow now.. just wait… IDK who secured the deal with at&t but FIRE them.. Incompetent jerkwad.. $349 for a clunky 3g device?? PASS. the psp vita is a nice device just stupid 3g stuff kills it for me..

  • Nintendo’s handheld system doesn’t come within inches of PS Vita, and after 25 years its done for them!!

  • WIFI only $300 bundle for the US and you’ve got me sold. But $350 is too much.

  • there you go, switch your commands.
Give the US the Wi-Fi models and Canada the 3G Wi-Fi models.

  • Oh and why PSVITA Memory cards?
Why not use Memory sticks like the psp?

We ain’t saving any money here… it ain’t pratical for thoses who owns psps.
Then again, it doesn’t play UMDs, but still…

  • hey do have a monthly bill for the 3g version of the vita
    because it”s At&T

  • What type of memory cards does this thing use? Cause I’ll need the largest one they make. I have a lot of stuff from PSN I already want to put on it… Oh, God… I see the $$$ now! x_X;;;

  • I was deadset on only getting the Wifi version and had my preorder since day one on it since I hate ATT. However I decided to go with this bundle just in case they ever switch over to Verizon and plus it seems like a good deal.

My only thing is I hope they actually offer the data packages on PSN that way we don’t have to bother with a service provider. That would be so much easier to manage.

  • Nothing for Europe huh!!!!!….. :-(

  • its so beautiful *tear tear* =’)

  • @Leo_97XzombieX its a 4 core with 512 Gigs of ram, how are the graphics *not that good*?

  • The 3G model just adds the ability to buy 3G access as you need it, It’s a DataConnect Pass plan. i.e. you pay when you need it, no monthly bills, no recurring fees. Same way 3G works on iPads, pay when you need it.

  • SWEET ..
THIS NEW TOY IS GONNA BE NICE =D

  • Please allow PS Vita to receive straight port from either PS2 or PS3 in the US
the old policy that PSP ports/versions of existing games should have 20 or was it 30% more content than the original isn’t necessary
I love to play my old games on PS Vita even without additional content
We need more games in the US so we must make publisher more easier to bring games here

  • I hope everyone realizes that IF u get the wifi-Only model of the VITA u can NEVER upgrade!!! You’d have to spend WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more money to buy another system if u wanted the 3G feature. That’s kinda like sayin “I DO NOT want the OPTION for Backwards compatability” and we ALL know how that went LOL (i got a day-1 60g) And the reason I’m telling u guys not to be so overly judgemental on the 3G model is because let’s say hypothetically Sony in the near future decides to partner with VERIZON or whoever u enjoy most for like an extra $5 or $10bucks a mo. U all would be stuck with a wifi only model that u cant even upgraded. Btw, Just because u purchase the 3G model, DOES NOT make u Obligated to signup and pay for the 3G. It’s just like when u buy a new laptop with the 4G chip pre-installed. Just because u have the chip, DOES NOT mean u have to sign up for the OPTIONAL SERVICE. As techies u guys should know this by now… I’m sorry if I’m comming off as rude. (P.S. I don’t have a smart phone yet so I’ll be switching to the VITA as my main source of communication! ^^ AND I’M WITH VERIZON! LOL and work @ Gamestop) :)
