One of  PlayStation’s iconic heroes, Nathan Drake, returns for his third globe trotting adventure in UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception. Find out this week why game journalists around the globe are calling Drake’s Deception a masterpiece and one of the best gaming experiences of all time. Four noteworthy games arrive on the PS3 and PSN with unique PS Move gameplay and precision, including a demo for Medieval Moves: Deadmunds Quest.

PSN exclusive Pinballistik arrives and Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe delivers a devasting uppercut to the man in blue spandex. PlayStation 2 classics return with Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland and the original Bloodrayne leading the pack. Follow me to the Atlantis of the Sands in this week’s The Drop.

PlayStation 3

UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception (3D Compatible) – Fortune hunter Nathan Drake is catapulted headlong into an adventure that takes him on a daring trek into the heart of the Arabian Desert in a search for the fabled “Atlantis of the Sands.” This journey pits him and his mentor Victor Sullivan against the occult treachery of a shadowy clandestine organization and its ruthless leader. When the terrible secrets of this lost city are unearthed, Drake’s quest descends into a desperate bid for survival that strains the limits of his endurance and forces him to confront his deepest fears.

UNCHARTED 3: Multiplayer Video Series

Sonic Generations (3D Compatible) – Sonic’s universe is thrown into chaos when a mysterious new power creates ‘time holes’ which pull him and his friends back through time. As a result, he encounters some surprises from his past history including Classic Sonic, Sonic as he was in 1991. Modern Sonic and Classic Sonic must defeat this strange new enemy, save their friends, and find out who really is behind this diabolical deed…

Goldeneye 007: Reloaded (PS Move Compatible) – You are Bond, James Bond. Your mission is to recover the key to a devastating Soviet orbital weapon, GoldenEye. This reimagining of the action classic GoldenEye allows players to channel Daniel Craig’s lethal and gritty James Bond in an innovative, modern take on the legendary Bond adventure, GoldenEye. GoldenEye 007: Reloaded improves on the Wii hit with HD visuals and realistic environments running at 60-frames per second.

Lord of the Rings: War in the North Unseen lands from the world of Middle-earth are awaiting in this visceral action-adventure RPG. The Lord of the Rings: War in the North is set against the backdrop of the famous trilogy, yet forges its own distinct path with a new story and an exciting take on the popular genre. It gives players the unique opportunity to explore previously untold stories in the realm of Middle-earth during the journey of the ring. Innovative cooperative gameplay pits you and your friends against the dark forces of Middle-earth.

Cabela’s Survival: Shadown of Katmi (PS Move Compatible) – Encounter the Arctic’s deadliest creatures in an epic struggle for survival in Cabela’s Survival: Shadows of Katmai. Packed with the game-changing Top Shot Elite controller, gamers will face non-stop challenges and the ride of a lifetime through the daunting Alaskan wilderness in an effort to complete a mysterious mission.

NCIS: The Game (PS Move Compatible) – For the first time ever, the world of the NCIS TV show is yours to explore. Experience four original NCIS episodes created with the writers of the show, and travel across the USA and around the world to solve complex murder, espionage and terrorist cases as your favorite characters from the hit TV drama.

Air Conflicts: Secret Wars – Air Conflicts: Secret Wars is an arcade flight simulation set in World War I & II scenarios. During the 7 campaigns the player has to fly and fight through over 48 missions. Before taking off, the player can choose between different aircrafts, each with different strengths and weaknesses.

PlayStation Network

Pinballistik (PSN Exclusive) – Start the Pinballistik experience off with Circle the Wagons. Mosey on down to the saloon or pay a visit to the can-can dancers. Make sure to finish loading that revolver before your opponent, then take aim and FIRE! Pinball has never been this intense. Pinballistik will launch with day-one DLC tables Sector X and Made of Money. This lets you pick and choose the tables you want to download. Don’t worry about the price: each additional game pack is only $2.99.

Hydrophobia Prophecy (PS Move Compatible) – Hydrophobia: Prophecy is the ultimate version of this chilling action-adventure game set onboard a floating city. The game utilizes the revolutionary HydroEngine technology to place you inside the flooding lower decks of the Queen of the World. Flowing water behaves completely realistically, creating a chaotic, dangerous and ever-changing environment. Duck behind floating cover and unleash floating oil fires, electricity and the power of the water to wipe out the enemy, Use every tool at your disposal to survive and escape the rising waters and discover the terrifying truth of the Malthusian prophecy.

Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe – For the first time ever Scorpion, Sub Zero and the warriors from Midway’s billion-dollar fighting franchise face off against Batman, Superman and other iconic and powerful DC Super Heroes, featuring signature attacks for both sides and a unique and intertwining storyline, written as a collaboration between the Mortal Kombat creative team and top comic scribes Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray. Choose your side and challenge your opponents with a new fighting system including Freefall Kombat and Klose Kombat along with dynamic multi-tiered environments. Plus, pick your favorite character from MK or DCU and pursue a fighting adventure in the new single player mode with an intertwined storyline and two unique perspectives.

Hasbro Family Game Night – Hasbro Family Game Night is an a-la-carte release — gamers can download the main Hasbro Family Game Night application and then pick which one of the many Hasbro games they wish to download and play. The initial download is free, and users can play trial versions of the digital board games to help find the ones they want to buy.

Max & The Magic Marker (Demo Available) – Max & the Magic Marker is a physics based 2D platform game, in which the player controls the boy Max and his Magic Marker. While Max enables good old platforming fun, the marker provides the game’s signature feature: the ability for the player to draw directly inside the game world where everything drawn becomes physical objects. This feature is used to complete levels and overcome challenges but it also provides the player with a unique tool that in itself is fun to play around with.

Demos

  • Medieval Moves: Deadmunds Quest

  • Arcade Hits: Magical Drop

PS2 Classics

Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland – Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland takes the popular series in a whole new direction, offering a deeper and more robust role-playing experience. It might be best described as a ‘Life Simulation’.

Raiden III – Raiden III for PlayStation 2 is a port of the classic arcade shooter, complete with a stage select mode that lets you replay stages once you’ve cleared them. The series has transitioned from its 2D roots to 3D, creating lush environments, devastating explosions and countless enemies, without a drop in frame-rate. Two players can play together to push back the invading forces, just like in the arcade!

Bloodrayne – As the vampiric agent BloodRayne, you’ll travel through the eerie swamps of Louisiana, to Argentina and Germany in this battle-heavy, third-person thriller. The game features non-linear gameplay in more than 40 levels and three massive worlds, the ability to suck blood for health, and to use slow-motion, zoom and aura visions to aid in death dealing. Pull off fantastic acrobatic moves to bend the environment to your will and dispatch enemies with BloodRayne’s blades and kicks for awesome in-your-face combat.

@Psicocrusher I am unsure how long although I am guess before the first dlc release? because it is currently a pre-order so maybe it will be available for a week or two when the game is released.

Not sure how bloodrayne and raiden 3 qualify as classics. Of course if they were really classics, they would slightly upgrade the graphics and charge twice what they were worth. How about some real classics. GTA san andreas, persona 4 or FF 12.

oh nice more PS2 games!! Do you think you could get someone to release R.A.D. (Robot Alchemic Drive) on the PS Store??? That game is soooo awesome but it’s on a CD disc and my PS2 has a horrible time reading it… :(
I really miss playing that game..

Hey Rey!

Any chance that these PS2 classics might include Summoner (and Summoner 2) at some point in the future?

Thanks!

Nice to know that more PS2 games are arriving on the PSN Store. On that end, I’d love to eventually see all of the non-Persona Shin Megami Tensei games from that console made available for download (Nocturne, Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2, Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha 1 & 2).

Come on ATLUS. You can do this. You know you want to.

Wow MK vs DC caught me by surprise. although i had that for xbox its a pretty sweet game, although it lacked in the violence that MK is known for and just felt really lacking.

Also glad to see to Raidan 3. i love that series!

other than that another dull week, and absolutely nothing for psp as usually. i dont know why i bother when i cant even get a simple answer if/when certain games come out which are LONG over due for a psn release especially considering (Square Enix for example) has most of their psp games on the psn, but for some reason Square and Sony are neglecting Crisis Core or whatever reason (as neither are giving any reason why, or blaming each other)

+ DragonWolfJD on October 30th, 2011 at 8:46 pm said:

May get the Pinball game could download the Hydrophobia one for free but I remember it being awful on the 360 so I doubt I’ll bother. Pass on everything else though find Uncharted to be highly overrated. Not saying it’s bad just overrated there’s a difference.

Alright new games coming out! Uncharted 3 is what most of us is looking forward to! I’ll sadly have to pass on it because I haven’t played none of them yet but don’t worry I will! Sonic Generations looks very great considering the last best Sonic game imo was Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, can’t wait to grab Generations once I pony up the money for it. But for MK vs DC, how much space will it take up? That’ll determine if I’ll get it or not, and how often will you guys bring in more ps2 classics? I’ll be waiting for the Kingdom Hearts series!

Hardcore Sony Fan, you guys rock!

Why should Sony support the PSP? Nobody freaking buys the thing and nobody plays it. Why are people expecting content for a dieing and dead system EVERY SINGLE F-ING WEAK. It is so pathetic you guys who complain are IDIOTS. You expect like 3-5 PS1 Classics, 3-5 PS2 Classics, 3-5 PSP Games, and 3-5 PSN games every single f-ing weak and then even if Sony releases a huge amount of games (which shouldn’t even f-ing matter this weak because Uncharted is equal to like a 1000 quality games) you then start to complain about avatars or themes or anything else.

You guys are pathetic and scum and I’m glad Sony ignores you. Specifically @5 and also at MegaMixer I see that douche every single time I read the comments on a PS Store update or the Drop.

Freaking nerds man stfu
