One of  PlayStation’s iconic heroes, Nathan Drake, returns for his third globe trotting adventure in UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception. Find out this week why game journalists around the globe are calling Drake’s Deception a masterpiece and one of the best gaming experiences of all time. Four noteworthy games arrive on the PS3 and PSN with unique PS Move gameplay and precision, including a demo for Medieval Moves: Deadmunds Quest.

PSN exclusive Pinballistik arrives and Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe delivers a devasting uppercut to the man in blue spandex. PlayStation 2 classics return with Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland and the original Bloodrayne leading the pack. Follow me to the Atlantis of the Sands in this week’s The Drop.

PlayStation 3

UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception (3D Compatible) – Fortune hunter Nathan Drake is catapulted headlong into an adventure that takes him on a daring trek into the heart of the Arabian Desert in a search for the fabled “Atlantis of the Sands.” This journey pits him and his mentor Victor Sullivan against the occult treachery of a shadowy clandestine organization and its ruthless leader. When the terrible secrets of this lost city are unearthed, Drake’s quest descends into a desperate bid for survival that strains the limits of his endurance and forces him to confront his deepest fears.

UNCHARTED 3: Multiplayer Video Series

Sonic Generations (3D Compatible) – Sonic’s universe is thrown into chaos when a mysterious new power creates ‘time holes’ which pull him and his friends back through time. As a result, he encounters some surprises from his past history including Classic Sonic, Sonic as he was in 1991. Modern Sonic and Classic Sonic must defeat this strange new enemy, save their friends, and find out who really is behind this diabolical deed…

Goldeneye 007: Reloaded (PS Move Compatible) – You are Bond, James Bond. Your mission is to recover the key to a devastating Soviet orbital weapon, GoldenEye. This reimagining of the action classic GoldenEye allows players to channel Daniel Craig’s lethal and gritty James Bond in an innovative, modern take on the legendary Bond adventure, GoldenEye. GoldenEye 007: Reloaded improves on the Wii hit with HD visuals and realistic environments running at 60-frames per second.

Lord of the Rings: War in the North Unseen lands from the world of Middle-earth are awaiting in this visceral action-adventure RPG. The Lord of the Rings: War in the North is set against the backdrop of the famous trilogy, yet forges its own distinct path with a new story and an exciting take on the popular genre. It gives players the unique opportunity to explore previously untold stories in the realm of Middle-earth during the journey of the ring. Innovative cooperative gameplay pits you and your friends against the dark forces of Middle-earth.

Cabela’s Survival: Shadown of Katmi (PS Move Compatible) – Encounter the Arctic’s deadliest creatures in an epic struggle for survival in Cabela’s Survival: Shadows of Katmai. Packed with the game-changing Top Shot Elite controller, gamers will face non-stop challenges and the ride of a lifetime through the daunting Alaskan wilderness in an effort to complete a mysterious mission.

NCIS: The Game (PS Move Compatible) – For the first time ever, the world of the NCIS TV show is yours to explore. Experience four original NCIS episodes created with the writers of the show, and travel across the USA and around the world to solve complex murder, espionage and terrorist cases as your favorite characters from the hit TV drama.

Air Conflicts: Secret Wars – Air Conflicts: Secret Wars is an arcade flight simulation set in World War I & II scenarios. During the 7 campaigns the player has to fly and fight through over 48 missions. Before taking off, the player can choose between different aircrafts, each with different strengths and weaknesses.

PlayStation Network

Pinballistik (PSN Exclusive) – Start the Pinballistik experience off with Circle the Wagons. Mosey on down to the saloon or pay a visit to the can-can dancers. Make sure to finish loading that revolver before your opponent, then take aim and FIRE! Pinball has never been this intense. Pinballistik will launch with day-one DLC tables Sector X and Made of Money. This lets you pick and choose the tables you want to download. Don’t worry about the price: each additional game pack is only $2.99.

Hydrophobia Prophecy (PS Move Compatible) – Hydrophobia: Prophecy is the ultimate version of this chilling action-adventure game set onboard a floating city. The game utilizes the revolutionary HydroEngine technology to place you inside the flooding lower decks of the Queen of the World. Flowing water behaves completely realistically, creating a chaotic, dangerous and ever-changing environment. Duck behind floating cover and unleash floating oil fires, electricity and the power of the water to wipe out the enemy, Use every tool at your disposal to survive and escape the rising waters and discover the terrifying truth of the Malthusian prophecy.

Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe – For the first time ever Scorpion, Sub Zero and the warriors from Midway’s billion-dollar fighting franchise face off against Batman, Superman and other iconic and powerful DC Super Heroes, featuring signature attacks for both sides and a unique and intertwining storyline, written as a collaboration between the Mortal Kombat creative team and top comic scribes Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray. Choose your side and challenge your opponents with a new fighting system including Freefall Kombat and Klose Kombat along with dynamic multi-tiered environments. Plus, pick your favorite character from MK or DCU and pursue a fighting adventure in the new single player mode with an intertwined storyline and two unique perspectives.

Hasbro Family Game Night – Hasbro Family Game Night is an a-la-carte release — gamers can download the main Hasbro Family Game Night application and then pick which one of the many Hasbro games they wish to download and play. The initial download is free, and users can play trial versions of the digital board games to help find the ones they want to buy.

Max & The Magic Marker (Demo Available) – Max & the Magic Marker is a physics based 2D platform game, in which the player controls the boy Max and his Magic Marker. While Max enables good old platforming fun, the marker provides the game’s signature feature: the ability for the player to draw directly inside the game world where everything drawn becomes physical objects. This feature is used to complete levels and overcome challenges but it also provides the player with a unique tool that in itself is fun to play around with.

Demos

  • Medieval Moves: Deadmunds Quest
  • Saints Row: The Third (Initiation Station)
  • Happy Feet 2

PSone Japan Imports

  • Arcade Hits: Magical Drop
  • Dezaemon Kids!

PS2 Classics

Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland – Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland takes the popular series in a whole new direction, offering a deeper and more robust role-playing experience. It might be best described as a ‘Life Simulation’.

Raiden III – Raiden III for PlayStation 2 is a port of the classic arcade shooter, complete with a stage select mode that lets you replay stages once you’ve cleared them. The series has transitioned from its 2D roots to 3D, creating lush environments, devastating explosions and countless enemies, without a drop in frame-rate. Two players can play together to push back the invading forces, just like in the arcade!

Bloodrayne – As the vampiric agent BloodRayne, you’ll travel through the eerie swamps of Louisiana, to Argentina and Germany in this battle-heavy, third-person thriller. The game features non-linear gameplay in more than 40 levels and three massive worlds, the ability to suck blood for health, and to use slow-motion, zoom and aura visions to aid in death dealing. Pull off fantastic acrobatic moves to bend the environment to your will and dispatch enemies with BloodRayne’s blades and kicks for awesome in-your-face combat.

One your a moron. Two some people only have a PSP. Until I finally got my PS3 all these ignoring the PSP users was really irritating. I personally would like an answer to the Fate/Extra question because, Im looking forward to it myself and hope it’s on PSN because I have problems finding games like that in stores around me.

@Little kid

It’s finally the day you can get yourself some free candy from strangers, something more than likely you do on a weekly basis. FYI, you are the one trolling.

I commented because he comes on here every single “Drop” whinning that there isn’t anything good when the fact is that nearly every single “Drop” has been great for the past 2 months. Not my fault people have a horrible tastes in gaming. Not to mention “RorekIronblood” already sad he isn’t getting any games with an online pass.

@gameplayer1214 who knows maybe it will be the next one to release in the next batch of ps2 classics? And if not you could go to PlayStation.Blog.Share to submit a request for them to release it. If it’s a popular demand then you will see it in psstore!

Long Live Classics!

dilbag your still a crybaby I see. *YAWN* no surprise there. You really should’ve been enrolled in the full day special ed class you need it. Once again you come back drooling nonsense on the floor as if your idiotic brown nosing actually matters. Time for you to get off your mommies computer and head back to your coloured blocks and take the other shills with you. The adult world your trying to enter has no place for cowardly kiddies who pretend to be all tough whilst hiding behind a keyboard.

Note to sony: time to stop letting the whiney little nerds speak for you. Ditch them, Hire somebody with real PR ability. All they’re doing is making you look just as bad as your competition. Allowing trolls to defend your mistakes only compounds the problem and makes you as a company look even worse.

You really are that stupid aren’t you? You (among a very few others) are always on here complaining. With no support from others or yourself, you have baseless comments. You are dumb as f***! You really have no life do you? Sad little troll on a blog, talking about hiding behind a keyboard when you yourself can’t do anything else but that. It’s people like you that ruin gaming.

You have an xbox, stated you are no longer buying third party games on the PS3, and have said you aren’t buying any game with online passes. Looks like you can’t be a gamer. Go get on your Wii because that is the only choice you have left. You are scum, no worse. Sad little man sitting behind his computer, with only one hand on the keyboard. Get a new hobby. Gaming is too much for you, especially when you hardly do it. Bye, don’t let more hypocrisy hit you on the way out.

Stupid F***ing kid didn’t get his candy. And now mommy won’t buy his games. Go troll somewhere else

It seems like RPG’s are the main focus so far when it comes to PS2 ports.
Thats great since they probably sell well but with so many good games in the PS2 library we need some variety here guys.

Not to be negative but after playing the first Two Uncharted games the new one just looks like more of the same with a new coat of paint, but I guess that could be said for every game and people love the whole adventure story line so what do I know.

I’m glad its finally here so the constant over hyping of the game will go away after what seems like an eternity.
I will give it a whirl eventually and enjoy it but man is it overblown at the moment.

Just getting into Batman so Uncharted 3 probably wont be on my radar anytime soon :)

cool Drop. Still waiting for My Chrono Cross. Though I love harvest moon, if my PS3 still had BC, I would not have to buy it again… I probably wont because I really cannot afford to re-buy a game unless it is up there with Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, or any Mario or Zelda. Harvest Moon STH was good, but, now I have Rune Factory Tides of Destiny which is an even better game that mixes Harvest Moon with some dungeon crawling. Probably wait until Goldeneye drops to $20 because I like my Wii version. and… uncharted…meh.

Tides of Destiny is amazing. I loved the first one on Wii, Rune Factory Frontier. Though I bought my tides of Destiny on my wii, I’m sire it’s just as awesome on PS3. It is one that I’m sure will be overlooked, but, it is a GREAT game.

DC Universe is not going to be a free dl. If u own the disc it will be free to play instead of the subscription. Id be pissed if you can download it for free seeing as i payed full price for a gamer that lost its player base after the first month.
