We are hitting the start of week three for the Subway Taste For Adventure UNCHARTED 3 multiplayer experience and we’re noticing that some of you are getting pretty good. But the best player isn’t the best for long. We think it’s a good time to dive into some of the more advanced multiplayer gameplay mechanics and strategies to help you step up your game.
Sure, you can lob a grenade out there, but have you mastered the aim throw yet? How many BBQ medals have you achieved? Did you know that the Idol can be used as a melee weapon? Game Designer Robert Cogburn sat down with the PlayStation.Blog to drop some high-level knowledge regarding UNCHARTED 3’s multiplayer experience. Check out our new video above for some lessons!
We are so very excited to introduce to you our official title ModNation Racers: Road Trip for the upcoming PlayStation Vita!
In the upcoming months we will begin to roll out more details on where the future of ModNation is going to take us. We are thoroughly excited to have you join with us in this great time of the ModNation Racers franchise. Hang on people, the fun has just begun!
Thanks to all who submitted thousands of great ideas for the title of the new game. As we mentioned, we have some “goodies” to hand out to a few gamers who helped us choose the name ModNation Racers: Road Trip. We will be contacting them very soon.
This week, the PlayStation.Blog team is three for one! I’m sure you’ve read our extensive coverage on some of this week’s new releases. Take Sid’s awesome Q&A session with Rocksteady Studios on the highly anticipated Batman: Arkham City in glorious 3D. Jeff and I traveled to FantasticFest and played the latest form of Payday: The Heist. The sizzling Miami weather invited me back to my hometown where we kicked off our dancer diaries for Everybody Dance. Lets not forget the quartet of awesome in Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One for PS3.
PSN delivers more titles to its already extensive catalogue of exclusives. Follow Kumulo and Nimbe in their unique and original adventure in the co-op puzzler, Okabu. Dead Space redefined horror when it originally came to Blu-ray years ago. Now you can relive, or experience for the first time, Issac Clarke’s manifestation of horror on-board the Ishimura on PSN.
This week’s The Drop is massive. Enjoy it.
You know we’re in the throes of the holiday release season when most of the links are to reviews. This year, it’s not just the retail games that are getting great reviews (it seems like Batman: Arkham City is pretty darn good), but PSN titles as well. Sideway: New York and Rochard have been rated solidly, and PAYDAY: The Heist is only 2 days away. Did you know that PAYDAY has a Platinum Trophy to be earned? Start planning your bank jobs by looking at the Trophy list here.
The PS.Blog weekly reading list (Week of October 10, 2011)
In case you hadn’t heard, next week is shaping up to be a real doozy in terms of new game releases. I’ll leave the gory details to Rey with The Drop tomorrow, but suffice it to say that free time is about to become America’s scarcest commodity when Batman: Arkham City, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, PSN exclusive Okabu, and approximately eleven thousand more killer PS3 games release this coming Tuesday. Guys, I’m scared. Hold me!
It wasn’t a light news week, either, with a new Marvel Pinball: Virtue and Vengeance trailer starring Ghost Rider (plus PS Vita plans!), an UNCHARTED 3 dev diary focused on the multiplayer Buddy System, an inFAMOUS 2 contest aimed at fledgling level designers, new Q&As for SSX and Batman: Arkham City, plus new co-op videos for Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, Okabu, and Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken, and a new dancer diary devoted to Everybody Dance’s new Dance Creator mode. Read on to see the top 10 most-read blog posts of the week!

Hey UNCHARTED fans, as you know we kicked off our advertising campaign for UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception right here with you, our loyal PlayStation.Blog readers back in September. Since then, you’ve been “feasting” your eyes on our fantastic 15 second spot for Subway starring noneother than Nathan Drake himself, as well as his cameo in Subway’s 30 second”AnyTober” spot gracing tv’s all over the country right now.
As you are about to see, our brand new spot showcases never before seen footage from Drake’s upcoming adventure that absolutely delivers on the promise that no other game can provide – actually “PLAYING” through a Hollywood, blockbuster action movie!
The launch of Everybody Dance, the all-new party game for the PlayStation Move, is just a few days away! To illustrate some of the coolest features in the game, we have created the Dancer Diaries, a series of videos where professional dancers record and share their experiences playing Everybody Dance.
Today, we want to share the first in the series, which provides a walk-through of Everybody Dance’s Dance Creator mode. With Dance Creator, anyone can easily choreograph their own dances, record their routines, and then save them in-game so they can challenge friends to compete against their moves.
It’s been mere months since I belatedly finished Batman: Arkham Asylum and learned what all the fuss was about. Now, with Arkham City just days away from its October 18th PS3 release, I jumped at a rare chance to speak with Game Director Sefton Hill from Rocksteady Studios. I solicited some of your best questions from Twitter and hopped on the phone with Mr. Hill to discuss a wide range of topics related to one of my most-anticipated games for 2011. Before you dive into the Q&A, get into the spirit by watching the new “Rogue’s Gallery” video below.
