Like UNCHARTED
Believe it or not we’re now in the final week of the Subway Taste for Adventure, UNCHARTED 3’s full competitive Multiplayer experience! Not only are we in the single digits as we countdown the days until the release of UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception, but we also recently revealed our launch trailer and the final UNCHARTED 3 TV Spot. If you haven’t watched those be sure to check them out!
We hope you’ve found your time online playing the Uncharted 3 full competitive multiplayer experience enjoyable and wanted to share a video that includes hints on how to effectively use melee, cover, evasion, aiming, and other skills while playing multiplayer. Moves like executing stealth kills and doing an edge grab are great ways to earn medals and achieve a medal kickback quickly. One of the most anticipated shooters of the year, Battlefield 3 brings to the PS3 stunning visuals and exclusive early access to Back to Karkand DLC. Just in time to celebrate all things that go bump in the night this Halloween, a festival of blood parades down the streets of New Marais, in inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood, with added PSMove Support. The PixelJunk team returns this time with a unique take on arcade shooters in the PSN exclusive, PixelJunk SideScroller.
The House of Dead series returns to the PlayStation Move, bringing an overkill of visual fidelity in high-definition and 3D. Experience the pulp-action light-gun shooter, House of the Dead: Overkill (The Extended Cut) this week. It’s a pity the weather is so nice out here in the Bay Area, because all I want to do right now is have a controller in my hand. Battlefield 3 lands in under 48 hours (don’t forget: PS3 owners get first crack at the game’s DLC packs); look for reviews of that, as well as next week’s greatly anticipated Uncharted 3 to hit this week. The PSN is bursting with exclusive games, and you can add PixelJunk Sidescroller and inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood to that list on Tuesday. And I’m still just a few hours into the excellent Batman: Arkham City. It’s truly the best time of the year.
Shame about all that unused sun out there.
The PS.Blog weekly reading list (Week of October 17, 2011
Like many of you, I suspect, I’m spending this weekend curled up with an old friend: The Dark Knight. So far, Arkham City is proving to be a delight. Gotham has never looked better (I’m told it dazzles in 3D!), and Batman himself has learned a host of powerful new techniques, from plunging off buildings to whiplashing over rooftops to some fancy new melee strikes and throws. Based on what I’ve played, Arkham City is the rare sequel that ups the ante in every conceivable way without compromising the series’ fundamental strengths. Nice job, Rocksteady! If you’re playing Arkham City, be sure to share your thoughts in the comments below.
In other news, this week saw the release of the PlayStation Move-fortified party game Everybody Dance, the four-player frenemy feuding of Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, PSN exclusives Okabu and Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken (among many others; see the PlayStation Store update for the full list) and new SOCOM 4 DLC.

Like UNCHARTED
Nathan Drake’s adventures are never easy: There’s danger around every corner! As you may remember from our casting call, Spike TV developed a blockbuster reality competition that brings that action to life in the UNCHARTED 3: Drake’s Deception Race to the Ring TV special that airs on Spike TV Monday, October 31st at 11:30pm Pacific Time (10:30pm Central).
We were stoked to hear from so many wannabe Drakes out there. After we sorted through the mountain of die-hard UNCHARTED fans that entered, we chose five lucky contestants — all with very different backgrounds — to participate in a competition worthy of an UNCHARTED adventure. The competition will test the limits of their endurance, strength, accuracy, and agility while pushing their knowledge of Drake’s adventures to the extreme.
