The Drop: Week of November 14th 2011 New Releases

This week, The Drop takes you back in time to the vast ancient city of Constantinople in Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, then shoots you forward into the criminal underbelly of Stilwater in Saints Row: The Third, then finally scrubs your face in the hot asphalt between San Francisco and New York in Need for Speed: The Run. The PlayStation Move delivers a trinity of great PS3 tiles this week with Medieval Moves: Deadmund’s Quest, Carnival Island, and EyePet & Friends.

On the PSN front, dinosaurs return from extinction and into your PS3 with Jurassic Park: The Game. The winner of several (well-deserved) Game of the Year Awards in 2010, Red Dead Redemption plants you in the middle of the Wild West with a full digital download.

The PS3 continues to deliver in this week’s The Drop.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations Assassin’s Creed Revelations presents the most immersive experience available in the series to date and the culmination of Ezio’s adventure. In Assassin’s Creed Revelations, master assassin Ezio Auditore walks in the footsteps of his legendary mentor, Altaïr, on a journey of discovery and revelation. It is a perilous path – one that will take Ezio to Constantinople, the heart of the Ottoman Empire, where a growing army of Templars threatens to destabilize the region.

PS3 Exclusive: The original Assassin’s Creed comes packed in with AC: Revalations.

Saints Row: The Third — Years after taking Stilwater for their own, the Third Street Saints have evolved from street gang to household brand name, with Saints sneakers, Saints energy drinks and Johnny Gat bobble head dolls all available at a store near you. The Syndicate, a legendary criminal fraternity with pawns in play all over the globe, has turned its eye on the Saints and demands tribute.

Refusing to kneel to the Syndicate, you take the fight to a new city, playing out the most outlandish gameplay scenarios ever seen in Saints Row: The Third, the third chapter in the blockbuster open-city action series. Strap it on.

  • Aside from the PS3 games, not much this week =/

  • OMqEEE ASSASSINS CREED =D

  • Hope Jurassic park has a platinum what’s the price for this do we know?

  • Rayman Origins looks good to me.

  • I’ll probably pick up Vanguard Bandits to once again support Gaijinworks efforts. Other than that, doesn’t seem like there’s anything for me this week. Maybe some good discounts will pop up.

  • No bejeweled 3?

Its hitting retail on Tuesday with two extra games.
I would of thought maybe it will also be PSN this Tuesday?

  • Lots of stuff. I pre-ordered LGB2: SE Move bundle when it was announced on Amazon. Can’t wait to play it.

Hope you confirm, One of you guys told me there will be MGS avatars this week, is that right?

  • Is the Red Dead Redemption digital download, GOTY edition?

  • Will buy Assassin’s Creed: Revelations and Need for Speed: The Run at black friday. I can wait a week to save a lot of money on new release’s.

  • I was hoping the complimentary Assassin’s Creed was going to be digital download, rather than on Blu-ray. I already have the game on my PS3’s HDD and would have given the code to a friend.

  • Rayman, EyePet, and Jurassic Park are busting my wallet this week. All of them look absolutely fantastic, for different reasons. it’s great to have such a variety of content!

  • Wow, hardly any new demos, ps1, or ps2 classics… bummer.

  • DYNASTY WARRIORS 7: XTREME LEGENDS works for me Thumbs up!

    ***PROUD PS+ MEMBER***

  • Assassins Creed Revelations & possibly RDR if it’s GOTY edition!

  • Can not wait to get my hands on Rayman origins!! And why is there another Little big planet 2 demo?

  • Rey, Isn’t Red Dead Redemption on PSN already? I just saw it on their. They should put Revelations on PSN too :)

  • Here wo go UMVC3, been waiting for your release for a while now.

  • Pretty nice the drop this week! Too bad I wont be able to get any of them this week.

  • Another dull update and again nothing for the psp. Honestly though dynasty warrior 7 seems pretty cool and i might pick that up. Eye Pet & friends seems a bit confusing. do you only play with 2 players?

  • Any chance of getting Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 as a digital download on PSN? Would be great to play it without having to switch discs with all these games out.

  • Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 :D

  • Oh man… this week is going to be a heck of a ride. Too many good games… choices, choices.

  • What a big list of retail games coming out. I really want the new Assassin’s Creed but I’ll have to pass on that until Christmas time or maybe my friend will let me borrow his. One thing’s for sure I’ll be playing Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3!! Hope we get avatars for the new characters and maybe remade avatars for the original cast(which might not happen but one can hope).

  • Definitely happy that Red Dead Redemption is hitting the store, still need to get that one.

  • Gonna get me revelations on black friday for $35 at best buy and might get rayman for $39 at gamestop :D

  • Does anyone know if Vanguard Bandits is any good? I’ve never even heard of it before. If there is a demo of Burgertime, I’ll give that a look since I’ve had a lot of fun with it back in the day. Other than that, this is a money saving week for me.

  • RDR on PSN. Nice. Next put up GTAIV, the Bioshocks and LA Noire

  • Ray what is the difference between the Little Big Planet 2: Special Edition demo and the regular Little Big Planet 2 demo?

  • Wow all this time I thought Rayman was a PSN game. I’m not gonna drop 60 for that.

  • Good week for retail releases, however lacking on the digital side.
I wonder if AC:Brotherhood will get a PSN price drop to $9.99 like AC II did. I’m also hoping we get some kind of mega sale for Black Friday. Sony really needs to get it’s act together regarding having killer sales every now and then.

And whatever happened to Choplifter HD.? Just fell off the face of the planet. Even the devs can’t be contacted at Inxile Entertainment.
Hope RDR isnt set at an embarrassingly high price. $20 please.

  • Looking back on it a bit, I’m definitely happy with what’s been popping up on the digital end for the full game releases. Lots of good stuff.

  • I am getting AC:R but about the rerelease of number one. Let me guess, still no trophy support. This will be the 4th release (first, GH, Digital) and now a bonus with this game.

I thought about Saints row, but with no demo I will wait. I didn’t like the control set up of 2

  • why mgs hd collection isnt on the store?

  • Vanguard Bandits!! Yes! It’s like Final Fantasy Tactics except its actually good and features robots!

Vanguard Bandits or Epic Stella (its JPN name) is better than the entire Square Enix Winter of Overrated RPG’s! Get this game people!

  • Vanguard Bandits! WOW! amazing! Jurassic Park and RDR sounds good too! Thank You Sony!

  • nope. i m too busy with uc3 and skyrim to even think of any other game.
i can maybe pick up a Move game for my kids for Xmas. 3 good games for that.

  • Metal Gear HD Collection Digital download, get to it.

  • @iTofuMan Yep; EyePet & Friends is 2 player although over the internet idk yet

On Topic: Getting Revelations and beating that before I even touch Skyrim. It was nice to see RDR on PSN even though I already have the hard copy. Same with the original Assassin’s Creed. Is that for standard or Special Edition?

  • Twisted Metal Black Online Edition PS2 classic for some hype

  • Awesome, now to get Revelations to finish the Ezio storyline. And hopefully Red Dead is at a good price. Already bought the Zombie thing so I’m hoping for $20-$30 but I gotta assume it will be $40.

  • can anyone confirm if RDR is GOTY editon?

  • Hey Rey,

Will Carnival Island also be available on PSN as a digital download or just disc based because it looks good to play with my little cousin visiting soon.

  • Awesome week for retail, but so-so for PSN games. I’m picking up Rayman: Origins and my Signature Edition Pre-order of Assassins Creed: Revelations.

  • I know I will be getting the list from assassin creed to Rayman and the game between those on Tues. That’s 5 games I’m nuts.

Plus Jurassic Park the game for free

I’ll see how it looks on the PS3 3D tv I got Sat just sitting in my office.

I’m thinking if should buy the medieval move game with that bundle that suppose to be this week

  • Udraw= epic fail, it was a fail on wii i have no hope for it to make anything of itself on PS3 and 360….. y waste money investing in that crap Sony? biggest mistake, scratch that, only mistake sony has made, with the exception of that move heroes game… :/

  • How bout’ Tekken 3 for PS1 classic and Tekken 4 for PS2 classic, huh?

  • Nothing for me this week… already have Saints Row on Tuesday, and I still have to try to Platinum Sonic Generations.

Vanguard Bandits isn’t a bad game though, shame this version doesn’t also come with a Lunar 2 demo.

And why the heck haven’t we gotten Suikoden II yet? Stop making people have to emulate it, or pay those outrageous eBay fees just to play the best damn game on PS1.

  • I really look forward to the Dynasty Warriors 7 Xtreme Legends. I love these games they expand the history to a fantasy that is enjoyable. Thank you very much for continuing the series.

  • vANGUARD bANDITS A TRUE CLASSIC WITH STRATEGYU ELEMENTS, MUST HAVE THIS GAME SOON AS IT IS RELEASED!!!!!!!

  • ill be getting UMVC3 and im hoping for a ghost rider psn avatar. I really want saints row 3 also but ill ask for it in xmas.
