The PlayStation Recap — Official PlayStation.Blogcast Edition

Sid Shuman's Avatar Posted by on Dec 03, 2011 // Director, SIEA Social Media

Welcome back! If you were traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday, you might have missed the launch of our long-awaited weekly podcast (now on its second episode). Planning, taping, and editing the Official PlayStation.Blogcast has been a lot of work, but hearing the constructive feedback, suggestions, and reactions from PlayStation.Blog readers has been immensely rewarding for Jeff, Nick, Rey, and I. Call it a labor of love! Have a great idea for an upcoming Blogcast? Never be shy about leaving ideas: this is your show.

If you’ve enjoyed the Official PlayStation.Blogcast so far, we encourage you to rate the show in iTunes. Among other things, it helps introduce new listeners to the smooth, dreamy sounds of Nick Suttner. Thanks again for your support!

In other news, major announcements have been on the light side this week. Still, we did see some interesting PlayStation developments: Our intrepid EU correspondent James Gallagher learned more about MotorStorm RC for PS Vita and PS3; MLB 12 The Show revealed its first screenshots for PS3 (and yep, it’s coming to PS Vita, too); Insomniac Games revealed two ways to win a pair of ultra-rare Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One arcade cabinets; Sucker Punch shared tips for creating custom graphic novel cutscenes in inFAMOUS 2 and inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood; and the team behind ModNation Racers: Road Trip for PS Vita released new details for the Track Studio.

What are you playing this weekend?

Can you please answer many people’s question about the Ratchet & Clank All 4 One Contest? We want to know if you guys will be providing us with music to use for our trailer or can we use any song we want? Or do we have to make our own original song?

Thanks for reminding us how awesome the PS3 still is so late into it’s life cycle. the fact that there are more and more Exclusives alone makes it so awesome.

How is the 4.0 firmware update not even in the top ten most viewed post of the week? Just trying to stay off that hot mess of a topic I guess.

I am playing: NBA 2k12, NFL 2k5 (still blows Madden away) with my PS3 that can play PS2 games. Skyrim, AC Revelations, UC3, BF3, and a lot more. I am very back logged.

    I am watching: Farscape again

Also what is up with this new pop up? I am on my iPod and it keeps blocking the screen. I close it, and it keeps coming back.

    4GB for 30$ 8GB for 45$ 16 for 70$ and 32GB for 120$

Well from what i heard you will be able to download around 10 Vita game on a 32GB card which mean every game will cost around 12$ more.

Yeah Im not playing anything or watching anything this week. Im reading my study guides.. I have 6 exams next week. In awesome news I applied to a college that Stig Director of GOW3 gradutated from. The Art Institute! *Sighs* PlayStation will be my career one day! Can’t wait til the PSVita comes out! Personally I don’t care about the prices as I am an early adopter when it comes to electronics. Especially PlayStation Products! Looking forward to Episode 003 of the Podcast later next week!

Hi, Sid: I’m not playing anything, because I’m on vacation in Orlando & I can’t get my Ps3 to work in this deluxe hotel’s tv, dammit. I thought I could spend days theme-parking & nights fighting for my life in Skyrim, but nope. I’ve spent the last 2 nights reading & listening to music like normal peeps & I FRAKKIN’ hate it!

I am, however, reading the Skyrim strategy guide which is available from the iBookstore. Thank goodness my iPADD never, ever fails me.

By the way, I loved the part of the blog where you guys were talking Skyrim stories. Rey was so funny. I listened to it twice.

Sid, I couldn’t help but notice that you are listening to your own blogcast…

Do you really like listening to yourself talk THAT much?! :p

Super excited for the Vita, and i truly hope that they announce a lower price point for the vita cards… Money is tight with trying to build a house, but the vita is a must buy, and i really would like to have a decent sized memory card for it.

    1. Wheres our “december PS+” preview?
    2. Are we not getting any kind of “12 days of christmas” like europe? I got excited till I noticed it was Eu only.

Loving the Podcast. Hey can a Question/Answer session be focused on the Vita and it’s Memory Stick / DRM / Media Go. I’m confused about whether the games are going to come on the sticks themselves and the Memory stick is for save games and downloadable games. Also if the Gamasutra Article I read [ ] is correct, being a mac user I won’t be able to manage my card at all with Media Go? Will I have the option of managing the Memory stick on my PS3? I know we have some time before launch, but I’d love to know more and I’ll not be able to meet up before launch. Thanks.
