This is a day one purchase for me. Saw a video review, and it looks ridiculously fun. I have to agree with some others here. I am DONE with zombies. I could KILL the a-holes that started all of this zombie stuff.

Just 1 correction this is not based on an arcade game but Dan Gorlins creation in the 81/82 era & published by Broderbund (look it up). It was released on Commodore 64 & vic 20 and the atari 8bit computers and I think the Apple II series as well. the arcade version came much later and didnt see as huge a release as the original.

IKR! Anything with zombies is just lame at this point every developer has beaten that horse to death. Give us communists or aliens or minotaurs, something different anything but zombies. Cant anyone in the entertainment business even just try to be original anymore?
More game companies should charge less so they can sell more and thus make more money. PSN games rarely warrant the $15 tag as they just aren't that good. Esp when some good PSN games have been below that price point.

It was always fun to drive past the Interplay building years ago when it was in Sunnyvale/San Jose ;-) For $15.00 I will pass on this..I would be more interested if it was an emulated version of the original or at least had a mode with the original style graphics to it [ though I have sort of lost faith in anything emulated working correctly at this point ] $10.00 I will probably buy it. Enough with the zombies already guys... That selling point peaked several years ago imho. The magic of this game wasn't so much what it looked like, it was how it played with tight controls and a very polished feel.

As a life long gamer now at the age of 40 imho the reason most games of that era were so great is they didn't have the ability to have all the extra graphical crap we have now and they concentrated on game play because they had too. It seems like developers have either forgotten that or just get crazy trying to reinvent the wheel and don't see that it just doesn't appeal to those who loved the original versions of the game and can ruin the whole experience trying to be something it can never be.

I hope I'm wrong. I hope it can do justice to its name sake but its becoming harder to drink the Kool-Aid these days.

You had me at Interplay. Welcome back. I hope this works out for you.

That said... One of the things the original really had going for it was that I could play it with my dad (well, ok, not 2-player) when I was 6. I just checked ESRB. I couldn't play this one with my 10-year old even. Gore? Zombies? Cussing? Suggestive comments? Why do that to a great game that already stands on its own?

Probably won't be touching this one.

We have to RESCUE Meat Boy? How about we put a few thousand bullets into him instead? Meat Boy isn't on PSN so I'd rather blow him up and never see him in the game again. All this game does is ruin my nostalgia by shoehorning in cameos for games I have no clue about (and don't belong in the game to begin with).
