11 New Games Come to PlayStation Home This Wednesday

Locust_Star's Avatar + Posted by Locust_Star on Jan 10, 2012 // PlayStation Home Community Manager

This Wednesday, January 11th will see yet another enormous update to PlayStation Home, with new games to play, a massive expansion to one of our most popular titles, and tons of collectible items. For starters, our friends over at Digital Leisure are opening the doors to their all-new Casino game space. Many of you have been asking for more casino-styled games since the launch of PlayStation Home Hold ‘Em and we’re proud to serve up an extremely elegant game space plucked straight from the Strip with all of the fun of a Vegas vacation without the high cost of admission.

From Blackjack and Poker and Casino War to Big Six Wheel and Keno and Slots, we’ve got you covered no matter what your game of choice is. Of course, no PlayStation Home game would be complete without some seriously awesome rewards, so Digital Leisure decided to add over 100 of them, including clothing, furniture, and even a luxury hotel room befitting the highest of high rollers (not that you’ll be doing much sleeping once the Casino releases…) Pick up your chips from the Casino’s cashier and let it ride. Those of you that arrive early will get comped some sweet goods just for stopping by!

IndiePark Marquee - Original

The much-anticipated Indie Park will open to all NA players come this Wednesday, January 11th. This huge game space is an expansion of the popular Pier Park and is crammed with bite-sized games showcased by a wide variety of independent game developers such as VEEMEE and nDreams. Indie Park launches with the following games:

Espionage 9

Espionage 9 is an addictive one- or two-player game where players place agents around the globe to carry out top-secret missions and take out enemies in a tense battle of spies and saboteurs. With several challenges and unique rewards, Espionage 9 is the perfect game for anyone who dreams of world domination through global subversion.

Los Penguini Brothers

Hit the slopes in Los Penguini Brothers, a wildly entertaining game that proves that penguins can fly (with the right encouragement, of course). Accelerate down the ski-ramp and fly through the air collecting as many bonus items as possible, then pull your parachute and glide down to the perfect landing on both static and moving targets to unlock lots of fantastic rewards.

Savage Cosmos

This single player arcade game is a top-down, run and gun shooter that includes over 40 rooms/levels to explore, 15 unlockable medals, leader boards, and a host of special rewards. Grab your X1VM Plasma Rifle and enter the doomed SS Cosmos ship where hordes of alien combatants dedicated to your destruction await you. Will you be able to fend off the onslaught and escape the ship in time or will you succumb to the horrors that lie within?

Gnome Curling

At last, a developer has matched my two biggest passions in life – curling and garden gnomes! Select from a variety of these impish little creatures and compete for a range of prizes. As the saying goes, there truly is No Place like Gnome (err…Home!) so log in this week and test your skills in this hilarious new game.

Electrokid

Help Electrokid overcome the evil Company and destroy their top secret headquarters in this 8-Bit, side-scrolling, 2D platformer. Electrokid comes with four fantastic levels and 21 unlockable collectibles (15 medals and six awesome animated clothing rewards.

Give or Take

This turn-based multiplayer puzzler is sure to bring out the best (or worst) in uber-competitive gamers Home-wide. Take on a friend and see if you can occupy the other’s home base in this PlayStation Home exclusive.

GiveOrTake in PlayStation Home

That’s not all – we’re also including community favorites such as Echochrome, Ice Breaker, Checkers and Chess in the new Indie Park. Log in this Wednesday to experience a wide range of fun, independent games in Indie Park, available only in PlayStation Home.

It’s a mighty fine week to be a full-on sci-fi freak like me, with a huge expansion to the Novus Prime universe coming in the form of Novus Prime: Vindication. This update brings more missions, ships, weapons, avatar items, and outfits along with a raised level cap (30) and tons of new rewards. Check out the trailer and then be sure to log in tomorrow to join the fight!

And if Novus Prime: Vindication doesn’t sate your appetite for all things intergalactic, you can head to the Estates store in the PlayStation Home Mall and pick up the newest addition to our long line of personal spaces – The Nebula Air Ship. This futuristic residence soars up to 30,000 feet above the rest of the PlayStation Home world and comes complete with a gifting machine (as an added bonus, players that own three or more sections of the PlayStation Home Mansion will find an exclusive golden chair inside the Nebula Air Ship). Take a tour of the Nebula Air Ship when it releases this Wednesday and then pick up your very own, along with the stylish Nebula Air Ship furniture (sold separately), and take to the skies!

Of course, no week would be complete without an update to the PlayStation Home Mall. This week we have new additions to Mass Media’s Weird Wear line, a series of animated glowing furniture perfect for your next party, more Urban Camo items from Konami, new Drey clothing items from Lockwood, and more! Add these items to your PlayStation Home collection when they release this Wednesday, January 11th.

Weird Wear - His and Her Thrones

Glowing Items in PlayStation Home

The PlayStation Home Community Theater is updated this week with the latest from Gamer Indepth. This week’s episode of ShoutOuts takes a look back at 2011 and some of the more memorable moments from E3 and San Diego Comic-Con. Join hosts Meesh, PizazzFace and TempestBlade for this GI special, only in the PlayStation Home Community Theater.

See you in Home!

Please note that PlayStation Home is now on a revised publishing schedule, with new content appearing every Wednesday. Be sure to check the PlayStation Blog every Tuesday for your weekly PlayStation Home news.

We are getting the Granzella content over in here in NA but it takes some time to localize for our community, hence the delay between Japan/Asia and NA. So, yes, it is coming but we do not have a release date yet.

I guess that we have to ask these questions everytime a new game for personal spaces is released in HOME, so here it is:

Can friends that do not own “Electrokid” play the full game?

Can friends that do not own “Electrokid” win all of the rewards?

OK Question is the Electro Kid Arcade is it so everyone can play this like friends and get the 21 rewards or is this another arcade where only ther OWNERS get the Rewards like Scribble Shooter?

Let us know. If all friends can play this and get the Rewards that be Great!

So we need to know?

The arcade games in Indie Park (Electrokid, etc) operate on a token system and grant rewards as win conditions are met. In short, they operate just like the Midway games.

The personal arcade versions of these games operate like the updated Scribble Shooter – meaning, your friends can play for free, but only the owners unlock the rewards.

Espionage 9 and los penguini have been out for weeks, how are they new? Do you guys even actually use PS Home? or are you just overselling it for those users who haven’t set foot in aurora?

Some of those sound really cool!

All of them sound like I want to give them a try!

This is exactly what PlayStation Home should be about – GAAAAMES. Less about malls and microtransactions, more about games and playing with other folks in fancy avatars.

nice update and i have asked before and i no i’m not the only one bring back central plaza. i no you will come back and say you can visit the 2 newly redesigned ones there not the same. or just have it as a personal space we can buy, and another cool idea for a side kick would be a bald eagle were when your standing there it rest on your arm then when your walking around it fly’s around when you stop it comes back that would be cool

Will this update end the whole “boot up into the mall” thing? That and the music loading has greatly increased Homes startup time. :( And why won’t the settings remember that I don’t ever want personal items displayed? Seems like an odd bug.

Cool. When they announced the “new Home”, then said it was gonna be new stuff on a regular basis and a rotating stable of games. Good to see them start bringing new stuff in.
To me, the arcade cabinets are a bit too expensive, but I sill still check them out. Hopefully, they will go on sale eventually (especially Scribble Shooter).

Another excellent update! Very glad to see Gnome Curling will have rewards now, will we be able to get them from the secret garden as well?

The Egyptian throne is absolutely amazing, and I’m so glad to see the glow furniture finally appear! Now we just need that fireplace!

One more question: will the officer suit appearing on a male in the new Novus Prime screenshots be for females as well? That will be a major selling point for me with the new Novus Prime update.

Yes, there is a female suit as well. It’s not exactly the same as the male version but we think you all will find that it’s plenty cool.

For tomorrow, Gnome Curling will be available in Indie Park only.

I would love to buy the new arcade machines.

But I’m not buying them unless you guys fix it to allow friends to earn rewards as well, not just the owner. I bought scribble shooter thinking it would give my friend’s rewards after i bought it. Only to find out they can play, BUT win nothing.

So sorry fellas, until you get those arcade games back to what they used to be (sharing with all INCLUDING rewards), my money is staying right where it is.

And if you do fix it guys, PLEASE fix scribble shooter and savage cosmos for it.

Licensing rights vary from country to country, making it difficult, if not impossible, to offer the same EOD programming across all territories. It’s certainly nothing to take personally and I know that LOOT is working hard to bring as much of their content as they possibly can to as many users as they can.

Can I upgrade my newly purchased not even furnished yet officers quarters into the Nebula Air Ship? The one personal space I hesitate on and then buy…. and this comes out. But You have antigrav…. have you seen the number of avi’s floating around home? :) It sounds like the pier park expansion will make it easier to access games that were hidden in other areas; that’s kinda cool. 1 suggestion (apologies if it’s misposted)…. add the ability to add your own photos right off the ps3 in the Loot Space Station; you did it for picture frames. I’m also happy to hear that the Southern Island Personal Space should be coming to North America, sometime, eventually.

ok. I’m done for now. (future comments should improve….this was a spur of the moment first posting.)

this all sounds really fun but tokens like midway tickets to play the casino ? really? i don’t gamble not very good at it and i do hope you haven’t put the hotel room as one of the high stakes win reward because that would not be fair for those who don’t know how to gamble and or the ones who suck at it! i still don’t understand poker or hold’m and have never been able to get the hands from the brimstone table and have given up even trying after 10 months of it i was sick to death of it.

For the love of a higher power, can we please NOT get any more T shirts as rewards.
The V.I.P suite should be up for sale, when you go to a real casino/hotel you have people going for the games, others for business, others for vacation, I personally have no clue how to play poker or any of the table games, so it would be nice to be able to purchase the V.I.P suite separate.
As for the Nebula Air Ship personal space , it could of been better, firstable the land down below looks more like the Round Crop Circles, the Bed once again , the LAY DOWN makes us look like 2 Corpses, No movement whatsoever, no option to lay down sideways , and we are so far apart is not even funny, personally , every week i purchase a lot of stuff but im not happy with the way the bed Lay Down feature is .
that`s all .

Looks okay this week I guess. Theres never going to be a week where you can please every single person 100%. Some people seem unstatisfied every week.. and continue posting how they spend all this money every week. Suggestion: maybe you should take a break for a month, save the money you normally spend and figure out how much you wasting on the things you bought and complain about lol. Anyway, other than the update, Im waiting for the option to block avatars 100%. I dont see why anyone would be against that.
