You can unlock any costume piece with in-game currency, which is awarded based on your score in a match. Players who don’t have tons of time to play the game but still want to look totally sweet also have the option of spending real money to acquire costume pieces. To be clear, once you buy the game, you can access all released content through normal gameplay. You won’t have to spend another dime.

I also want to emphasize that costumes are purely cosmetic and have no impact on game balance (unless you’re dressed so sharply that enemies are temporarily stunned by your dazzling good looks, of course!).
